I had a really positive experience selling my property, and a lot of that was down to Luke. From the very beginning, Luke was incredibly helpful, approachable and easy to deal with. He kept me informed throughout, was always quick to respond and went out of his way to keep everything moving, particularly when things became more complicated and stressful. I always felt that Luke genuinely cared about getting the best outcome and was willing to put the effort in to make sure things got done. His communication and professionalism made a real difference during what can be a very stressful process. We have worked with Nicholas James over several years and have experienced pretty much every side of the process, buying a property, selling our flat and renting through them. Throughout it all, Nick and his team have been consistently professional, helpful and genuinely lovely to deal with. Words don't describe how good Nicholas James are. We had two previous estate agents who were great to start with but quickly lost interest....After being recommended Nicholas James by a friend we couldn't have been happier. They are responsive, friendly, attentive. You have one contact throughout the whole sale which makes it so much more personal. Our photos looked amazing and the listing was exactly how we wanted it. Nick kept us regularly updated through what turned into a complicated sale process. He went beyond what is expected to ensure it could go as smoothly as possible. He was honest throughout and never just 'told us what we want to hear'. I completely trusted Nick with the whole process and recommend him to everyone. They are the opposite of the reputation that estate agents often have and I will 100% use them again when the time comes. When I come to buy in future, if the house was being marketed by Nicholas James I'd be more inclined to go with that over any others because I know I can put my complete trust in them to do things transparently and fairly.

Nicholas James (and especially Nick himself) were amazing throughout the course of a very lengthy and difficult sales process after a breakup. Nick went above and beyond to ensure that the sale progressed, doing great work on both our side and the buyer's side. To make matters even better, he personally saw to it that I was able to purchase myself, porting the mortgage and saving thousands. Finally, on move out day he rolled up his sleeves and helped get things in the back of the van when illness left me with fewer movers than I had expected. Truly a full stack service; I'll be going back to them when I look to sell no doubt.

We have been with Nicholas James since 2024, and honestly, we cannot recommend them highly enough. From the very beginning, they stood out from every other estate agent we dealt with during the incredibly stressful Brighton & Hove rental market. Even before the new renters’ rights changes came into place, they already restricted viewings and refused to engage in bidding wars- something that really stuck with us and immediately showed their integrity and care for tenants. The application process for our first flat was smooth, quick, and well organised, which made a huge difference during such a stressful moving period. When we arrived, we received detailed check-in information and even a bottle of prosecco- such a thoughtful and generous touch, especially as renters. It genuinely made us feel valued and welcomed into our new home. Throughout our tenancy, every single person at Nicholas James was kind, professional, approachable, and incredibly supportive. No question ever felt stupid, and no request ever felt like too much trouble. We absolutely loved our flat and always felt genuinely looked after. Unfortunately, our landlord later decided to sell the property, which was understandably very stressful and upsetting. However, Nicholas James handled the entire process with such care and professionalism. Despite the landlord also being their client, we truly felt they had our best interests at heart too- something that sadly feels rare with many estate agents. They had open and honest conversations with both the landlord and us, helping arrange for us to stay longer before vacating, which was especially appreciated as we were due to be away for several weeks. We were also given over four months’ notice before needing to leave, even before the new rental legislation came into effect, which says so much about how they treat their tenants. They also kept us fully informed throughout the sales process and made huge efforts to help us find another property that suited our specific needs. Thanks to them, we were able to move seamlessly into an even more beautiful flat that genuinely feels like home. A special thank you to Nick Daley, who went above and beyond by even providing us with his personal number to help with viewings, property searches, and any issues along the way. Also, a huge thank you to Sharon, Luke, and Keri- every member of the team has been fantastic and has always been approachable, kind, and professional (even if at times, I was overwhelmed and stressy!). As someone whose father was an executive director for a major UK estate agency, I can honestly say Nicholas James are the real deal. Their professionalism, communication, and genuine care for tenants is unlike anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. They don’t just treat you like “a tenant”- they treat you like a person. As long as we are in Brighton & Hove, we will do everything we can to stay with Nicholas James, and if we ever come to buy a property, they will absolutely be the first people we go to. We recently exchanged contracts on the sale of our house through Nicolas James, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. What could have been a straightforward sale turned into an 18-month journey involving a chain of multiple properties, multiple buyers dropping in and out, and more than a few moments where the whole process looked like it might collapse. Throughout it all, the team at Nicolas James remained professional, proactive, and incredibly patient. Communication was excellent from start to finish. They consistently kept us updated, chased solicitors and other agents when needed, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the chain moving. Their persistence and determination were instrumental in getting the sale over the line. Luke Pope at Nicholas James in Brighton & Hove recently marketed and sold my lovely flat in central Hove. Luke knew exactly how to market my flat and was always personable, efficient and professional. Under his instruction the on-line marketing brochure was efficiently and speedily put together. It included a comprehensive, to the point, description of the flat, top quality professional photographs illustrating the interior/exterior and a useful aerial shot of the block set within the surrounding area. The professional quality of this estate agents marketing compared to others (+ of course good reviews) had been the very reason I had approached Nicholas James in the first place and my expectations were well met. Having found just the right buyer Luke continued to keep a watchful eye on progress right up to completion.
