Incompetence and lies on a legendary scale!

I had my property up for sale with Foxtons, an offer collapsed, and so I decided to consider rental. After I spoke to the rental department, they took a renter into my property without my permission, hadn't even signed a contract. Luckily, the person liked it and offered a good rent. The agent lied to the renter and me, messed up three contracts, so by the time he signed the fourth contract on my behalf, the renter had been in my flat for 10 days. Lucky he signed! He told me that I could not protect the deposit...lie. He told me that the second 6-month rent payment would be paid on the fourth month...lie. And it was not paid in advance on the 5th month like every other agent; the tenant is now late with the second 6-month payment. I complained to the manager, but he ignored my complaints. The whole office is corrupt. Really, do yourself a favour, there are good letting agents out there, Foxtons is not one of them.

Special mention to Pedro Torres as he is the estate agent that stood out among all the others who gave us options during our flat search. We moved in a new flat in Brentford just recently. Though this unit is not under Foxtons, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pedro for his professionalism. Every tenant knows how stressful and difficult it is to move out. He was able to make us feel at ease and calm when we were anxious during the search. He was also gracious and I can hear the happiness upon knowing we have finally chosen a flat. New Cross Gate letting office is appalling. I had a misfortune to invite them a few years back for valuation and then when changed my mind, asked them to delete me from their database as wasn't planning to do anything with my house. And guess what every year I am receiving unsolicited calls inquiring about valuation, letting, selling. They promise to delete my number every time they call once every half a year in average, pathetic.

Very disappointing experience with Foxtons. We arranged a viewing for a property, but despite telling the agent that we were available earlier in the week, we were only offered a viewing later. On the morning of the scheduled viewing we were informed that an offer had already been accepted. When I asked when the other viewers had seen the property, I was told it had been shown earlier in the week. It is very frustrating that we were not given the same opportunity to view it earlier, especially when we clearly expressed interest and availability. After that, the agent told us she would come back to us once she confirmed whether the applicants had actually secured the property. However, she then stopped responding to messages and calls altogether. When I followed up again, I received no response, which felt very unprofessional. Previously we also spent several hours viewing properties that were completely outside the areas and criteria we had discussed. Overall the experience felt very disorganised and unhelpful. Unfortunately this has made us lose confidence in Foxtons as an agency.

They take the money and then abandon their landlords. Do not rent a property with these agents as there is no customer support or response. I have had a couple of issues and queries - I have had to ring several times with long wait times and email multiple times for a response, still waiting three weeks later. They never reply or respond costing me hours of wasted time and stress.
