My partner and I really couldn’t rate Chestertons highly enough! We placed our offer for a property in South West Lettings 5 days ago, and today we signed our Tenancy Agreement and paid our deposit, and are both shocked at how efficient this process has been! In particular, Kate, Kerri-Ann and Richael have been incredibly helpful answering every query we each had and made this process as fast and easy as possible for us, despite our constant questions! Ryan, who showed us the property, was also extremely helpful! We’re now looking forward to moving into the property, grateful this process is sorted well before our move in day! Super happy!

The service is fine except the various departments and people you have to deal with. What happened to having one person you could talk to on everything?. If you insist on such a user un-friendly system of pass the parcel, then at least let the right hand know what the left is doing. As landlords we pay a lot of money to agents to find a tenant, at least have some compassion towards your client and streamline this extremely cumbersome procedure of several departments , none of which know what the other have done.

I've been flat hunting for a while and started to look around Battersea area. Worse experience ever. Other agencies in this area are just normal. This one is ridiculously bad.If you are buying/renting flats you probably dont have choices. If you are selling/renting out your flats, my experience is they have been so bad that I just want to give up on the flats they represent just to avoid them:1. Viewers have to call 3 times before viewings and no address was provided: Before my first viewing arranged with Charlie, I called 3 times and everytime I was told I will get an email/text and I NEVER did. I had to call on the morning of the viewing day to find out the address.2. 2nd flat I arranged to view with Chestertons Battersea office, no address confirmation at all again. I called and a lady apologised saying this is unacceptable. I only got the text after the viewing happened (Should I blame my mobile service provider?) Again I had to call the office to find out which address it is I am viewing. Painful & confusing.3. Having to chase for updates after offers: I put down an offer and Charlie only replied that there were other offers etc. and the vendor now wants £25K higher than asking price. He's a nice guy but he did not even bother to inform me about the rejected offer.I understand they are busy and of course work for the best interest of themselves & thus vendors, yet there was no basic decency of confirming viewings address with 1 single email after I called for 3 times during the week to find out where I have to go for viewing on Saturday. With this start of experience when they talk about other higher offers being rejected or the vendor now wants £10K - £25K more than asking price, frankly I doubt how much trust I should put in that. The whole process is painful with waiting & waiting and you are never sure what might go wrong in the next step, or how much of any info presented is true. This is normal with estate agents but this time it's painful enough for me to bother with a review.

Unfortunately there was a typo when your email address was initially added to the system, which resulted in the lack of communication (which was later rectified). The property on which you offered on was marketed as “Offers in excess of” as the client wanted to achieve over asking price. When you put your offer forward the branch let you know that there was already a higher offer made, and tried to contact you via telephone and text to discuss. PS: we are UPDATING the review given Chestertons’ response: they did not have “our best interest at heart” as they stated below. Our response: TPO had agreed (twice, once at first and then at the appeal) that Chestertons has taken advantage of our trust and as a result, TPO ruled in our favour, and Chestertons was held financially liable for the stress and damage caused to us. As such, TPO ordered Chestertons to pay us a “compensation” for their actions. So once again, as you can see in their response to this review, they are simply dishonest and incapable of being accountable for their actions., , , , -Review below:We had a terrible experience with Chesterton Property Management. They are extremely dishonest and have, in our situation, partnered with a building scammer, Panacea Marketing Limited (Lee Deakin). They took advantage of our trust and we lost as a result a large sum of money. Our Property Manager, Justine Waterman, was despite all evidence showing a scam, 100% protected by the management of Chestertons.

Worst agency - stay away from these criminals. As a former tenant, I would like to share that Chestertons tried to impose a rent increase that was at odds with our tenancy agreement. Not sure where you come from, but in most countries violations of contract law are punished. It’s amazing that this agency still exists given their illegal practices.
