Even 1 star is too much. they have been deceiving us for months and they are not producing any solution. On the day we bought a house, they haven't fixed a lot of the problems they promised us they would do in a few weeks for 8 months! I have never seen such an irresponsible company. Everything is great until they get the money from you. then you have no interlocutor and your problems are unresolved! I've never been dissatisfied and not happy!

We have been living in Wilbur Chase, an Avant Homes development in Ruddington, for a few months. We highly appreciate Piotr, the site manager there.Piotr always carries out his work responsibly, as seen from his timely response to our requests for resolving snagging issues. We are confident that all the issues that follow can be addressed thanks to his dedication and reliability. For example, when we encountered difficulties in installing the washing machine, he did not hesitate to give us a helping hand though his working hours had just ended.Working with great passion, Piotr is a very approachable person who always smiles brightly whenever he meets us. Therefore, we feel comfortable when we seek help from him. He also patiently explains what follow-up action is needed and swiftly offers solutions.We believe his sense of duty and commitment makes him an outstanding site manager much needed by the company. We wish him a promising future in his profession.

Reservation:The nightmare started before reserving the house. We were made promises of completion dates that never happened. We know that things could change so why make promises that can't be kept.We had been shown the house style we wanted at a different site and it had everything we wanted so just before we were about to reserve, we were called to the sales office to tell us the specification had all changed since a Persimmon's director had been taken on.It went downhill from there.The house price stayed the same yet most of the extra's that we loved about the original house were taken away for more basic styles.We could have cancelled but we had been pushed in to selling our existing house quickly and renting short term so we were stuck and had waited for so long (over a year) to reserve. We really wanted the location so we persisted.We asked customer care for the boiler to be moved closer to the wall in the utility so we could box it in a cupboard, the same as the show home we originally looked at and they agreed this.Demo Day:We were specifically told, that we weren't allowed to point out snags during the walk around as this wasn't the time for this. (we still did point out some big snags).We asked if they could leave skirting boards off so we could get flooring down in the kitchen without having to damage the walls, they said they can't but they would put them on loosly.Completion Day:Our removal van was waiting outside the house ready to unload our furniture and then we were notified the money had gone through. At this point, all Avant staff dissappeared. We tried to contact them and walk around the site but no one was around. 45 minutes later and the removal van still sitting there charging by the half hour and they just went in the house, the door had been left open and they couldn't wait any longer.Eventually, a call from the Avant sales person to tell us to let ourselves in and there would be no key handover and she would see us another day.Also, the boiler hadn't been moved as agreed.Skirting boards weren't on loosly so all of the walls were damaged when removing them.Spot lights all downstairs all wonky and not aligned.After care:We asked about the boiler move and all they said was sorry, I know we agreed but the workmen didn't move it as promised so nothing we can do.Bath, sinks, shower, toilet and banister all not per the specification and of much poorer quality (and a lot cheaper) but they say they are like for like so tough luck.The bath inside is much narrower and none of the family can use it. Pointed this out but they don't care.Asked why the skirting boards weren't on loosly as promised, again sorry nothing we can do now. (that we have your money).All spot lights had to be moved, luckily the Avant site manager organised this otherwise we would still be waiting.In 6 months, I've lost count of the number of site managers leaving due to how Avant is now being run. The original Avant site managers at least tried to help.Some snags were dealt with initially but now there's little progress. You only get progress if you threaten them with legal action. Everything is a battle.When we listed the outstanding snags to customer care, we were told we didn't mention them on the home demo so touch luck. (even though these specific snags we did although the old site manager didn't pass them on).The patio window has been replaced twice by Ramage windows due to faults and they are now refusing to replace it again (even though it's faulty) as it falls in with their guidelines.It seems now, Avant are just trying to get out of doing anything and we know if we mention any more snags it's a new battle.Most of the houses on our estate are different specifications as they keep changing the spec as the new houses are built.Just to add, one house that was built after ours was built with the old specification. The owners knew one of the directors and got special treatment. They had their whole house changed (4 bed knocked in to 3 large bedrooms). Shame Avant forgot to ask for planning permission so the council were straight round to investigate. They were trying to get away with the changes and hoping no one would notice. All sounds a bit dodgy to me.Avant used to be a good company, not anymore though. It's going downhill fast and most of the staff are leaving.

The Avant team here in East Kilbride made the whole process of selling and buying a home as straightforward and as stress-free as possible. Moving house is always stressful but Avant did their best to minimise this. Their follow-up and de-snagging service cannot be faulted. We are extremely happy in our new home and comfortably settled. Every new house has minor faults, some caused in the act of moving furniture and some by the builders but we made a checklist of every fault and indeed they have all been corrected by top-class professionals. One option is to employ a professional de-snagger (yes, this is a thing!). I never want to move again, but I would trust the professional and homely Avant people to assist in this process. A’ the best to our Avant team!A few tips:* Maintain contact with your moving team and let them know of any concerns or worries. I think they have seen everything and have a solution to most problems. * Make sure that your house purchase is what you want or need. There is no reverse gear. * Always be polite and friendly to the team. They are, after all, human and professional, but everyone responds better to a friendly and supportive attitude!

I am very happy with my new build flat in Glasgow! Linda and the team were very helpful and responsive. I had lots of questions and needed some extra information at the beginning and the guys were very patient and always provided quick support. If I was to buy a house in the future I would probably go for AVANT again.

If I had read the reviews before buying an Avant home - I probably wouldn’t have proceeded. Thank goodness I didn’t! The only thing I would advise people to do would be to judge it on your own experience. People are quick to call out when things aren’t good - but rarely when things are good! We bought our dream forever home in Draffen Park, Stewarton in April and moved in early September. Our experience has been nothing but positive and we are absolutely delighted with everything - it’s so important I share it. The Build. We bought a 4 bed Palmbrook, we bought off plan but we were fortunate that the showhome in the estate is the same style house as ours so we got to see what we were buying. The house is amazing, straightaway from the demo to getting the keys - along with having the luxury of watching it get built on our weekly visits, we saw how hard working and diligent the builders and Avant were. Do we have snags? Yes! But Avant have been excellent and have prioritised having these rectified for us. These have varied from cosmetic, to plumbing, to joinery but every time they are fixed - the representative that has fixed it has been professional and diligent, especially mindful they are now in someone’s home and not a building site. We are delighted with the quality of the build and all the extras we requested. I honestly can’t fault it or Avant. Avant Staff. I have to be honest and say I think we have lucked out here with both the sales agent and the site staff. We have Alex, Del and Rory and each of them have been fantastic. They are approachable, knowledgable and friendly and always on hand to help or guide us. Living here now, we see how hard these guys work and juggle their clients, workers and site visitors. I appreciate it’s their job - but not everyone can do their job well and these guys are a great team. Ashley Lee was our sales agent and she has led us through the whole process from start to finish. She was knowledgeable, approachable and friendly too - she’s been a great support and has made not only buying our dream home a great experience, but she has also helped with the transition as we have moved a distance from home. We honestly can’t thank Avant enough, especially the people on the ground that make things happen. I have no worries in the future that if we had any issues they would be resolved without issue. 5*

Don’t whatever you do purchase a house from Avant homes. Our experience thus far has been well below expectations. The communication is poor, inaccurate and at times rude! Everything which they do is about extracting as much money from you as possible as quickly as they can. Workers are rarely present on site, and asking for some form of plan is frowned upon. I mean why would anyone who is spending nearly half a million on a house want to see what was happening and when, only to be met by “it’s for internal use only”. Based on our experience I highly doubt how often they even review the plan as their approach seems like a scatter gun. One week your on plan, next week it’s moved by a month or so simply because they’ve realised there is too much to do. Often at the point they realise this you’ve already reached the conclusion yourself so you may as well have told them that your dream home won’t be ready in time. When you do receive commitments they are rarely delivered on, often met by excuses that a school child would think of when they hadn’t done their homework. Floor tiling apparently isn’t an extra or provided because they have trouble transporting it without damage, how can you transport wall tiles then are they transport proof??? Options can and will be removed throughout stages of the build for no rhyme or reason with no recompense. You may even have the pleasure of selecting options without even knowing the price, and when you ask have to wait several weeks for an answer. The Site Manager seems well out of their depth and unlike in previous new builds I have purchased is sheltered from any form of interaction with you, even if they fall miles behind plan. Several houses are having to be rebuilt due to poor workmanship, how it gets to that when the Site Manager is on SITE overseeing the build is beyond me. Basically no accountability whatsoever, so if you want an easy ride become a Site Manager with them. Do yourself a favour and buy an old house or a plot of land and have a home built by an independent builder.

Incredibly poor service from start to finish. Sales team were slow responding to any enquiries we had, consistently gave wrong information and failed to inform of us "spec changes", which meant that our home was missing a lot of things we were shown in the show houses and had been part of the reason we chose to buy the home. When we disputed these being removed without us knowing, we we're basically told that nothing could be done as these were no longer offered. Floor plan changed to essentially remove an entire room without us being aware, again down to "spec changes".Many options "sold out" only to find people around us were still able to have them. Kitchen fitted in entirely the wrong colour. House was dirty, grout stained before even moving in (still not fixed almost 11 months after).The aftercare/snagging teams are as bad as the sales teams, takes weeks to even get a response about the simplest of things.Endless list of snags which take forever to be rectified, our snag list was lost by Avant twice. Promises made by them are forgotten about as soon as they receive your money.By far the worst company we've ever dealt with, avoid at all costs, endless problems and stress.
