This is our second time using Stow Brothers to sell our house, first in Walthamstow and second in Highams Park- both incredible experiences that we can’t fault. Jon Vidal and his team are just exceptional and have high level current insight into the area, prices and clients. They managed to secure us 33 viewings for our home which was beyond our expectations. Paul and the sales progression team were always available to discuss progress and feedback with our property and extremely supportive with any issues that arose. We hope they set up a Kent Coast office soon as we’re not sure what we’ll do without them in the future 😂 Highly recommend.

So bad that I'm still disappointed a year later.

Our experience as tenants with Stow Brothers, who were both managing the property we lived in and selling our same property for the landlady, was thoroughly disappointing. They weren't amazing even before the landlady chose to sell. Early on, there were a string of property managers who were either rude to us, or difficult to get hold of. Upon reporting black mould and severe damp, my partner was told "it's normal in old houses" and then just left us in limbo over the issue. Eventually the lovely Anita Datta took over managing and things started to get fixed, turned out a leak around the bay window was causing the issues. They'd left us with that issue (and resulting health problems) for over a year. When the landlady chose to sell, Stow made us feel so disregarded. They prioritised a quick sale over our right to peaceful enjoyment of the home we were paying for. This was concerning considering our tenancy was being managed by a different branch of Stow Brothers. ​Viewings were requested with very little notice, including one instance where we were asked at 9am to accommodate a viewing at 4pm the same day. We were also asked to vacate the property for a series of viewings which they were hoping to conduct during a heatwave, barely giving us the minimum 24 hours notice for this. ​ ​Their attitude towards us prompted us to install an indoor security camera ahead of the viewings, particularly as Stow had told us it was expected that we would not be present during viewings "for the comfort of the buyers." The footage subsequently captured our belongings being moved and looked through, with one prospective buyer even going through my wardrobe while the agent was stood downstairs, a clear violation of our privacy despite our expressed concerns. ​The camera also recorded agents providing incorrect information about the property to potential buyers. For example, a buyer was told the fireplace was a gas fire when it's not, and another was unable to locate the washing machine, telling the buyer to email the office instead of simply opening the cupboard in the hallway where it is located (or even asking me - for one of the viewings I was hiding in the garden working on my laptop...) Throughout this process we were consistently pressed for a moving date, despite repeated explanations about the delays in our own home purchase, which our landlady was aware of and happy to work with us flexibly on. We felt like we were a nuisance rather than people trying to navigate the complex process of buying a home. ​ ​When the property did not sell within about three weeks, the agent (Joe) appeared to blame us. I feel he implied that the decor and furniture were the reason for the failure to sell. He requested we accommodate companies to come in and draw up plans and quotes to "stage" the house with new furniture and redecorate, a request we could not agree to immediately due to our impending wedding. Shortly after we asked him to give us just a week or so to focus on our wedding day, we were coldly served a Section 21 eviction notice. ​Ultimately, Stow's conduct caused significant stress. The agency's approach, from disregarding our privacy to providing incorrect property information to others, doesn't seem to have been particularly helpful to us as tenants or to their client, our (now former) landlady. Buyer, seller and renter beware.

We had an excellent experience selling our home with E4 Stow Brothers. From the very first valuation through to completion, the whole process was handled professionally, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. We had Mia to guide us through the process and her communication was outstanding throughout, we were always kept informed, and any questions were answered quickly and clearly. What really stood out was how proactive she was in managing the chain and keeping everything on track. Selling a house can be stressful, but Mia made the whole experience feel smooth and well-managed from start to finish. There were so may issues with this agent it took months to sort out and although we were compensated by them it was not worth the time, cost and stress it took to resolve. Any issue the tenant told them needed resolving we approved within 24 hours but then had to chase and chase to get it done !! This is despite having paid for full management. The property condition reports they sent were wrong. None of the real condition of the property was sent to us - photos seeming not to capture it..... If I sent you their response to this you would laugh (apparently all the issues happened during the weekend between the tenants leaving and the photos .... seriously ) and this resulted in us losing the sale of the property incurring a further 1,200 of legal costs - Then there was the time they suggested that as our lights went over the pool table we could reduce the rent or take down the ceiling .....until I suggested trunking up the wall and along the ceiling - problem solved ....... this is the level we are talking about. Or how about putting our house on the internet for Rent months after they no longer had the property and at a rate LESS than they got for it years earlier !! we had to tell them to take it down ! I could go on ...... And then at the end - after all the issues cost and time they "nickeled and dimed" us and we cut our losses and settled. But OMG we are a professional competent genuine family who happen to have contracts abroad - we are not landlords by profession - this is our home.... But Stows took an absolute chunk out of us. We have never paid so much money to do the work ourselves. I am now aware that I am not the only one to have issues - but one thing Stows do do well is Marketing and people with not great experiences tell me they feel they wont be believed. Trust me ! read the above and tell me you could make this up !!!

The very best estate agents

Moving in London is always stressful and you never know what you’re going to get with estate agents. But I can categorically say that Stow Brothers are the best we’ve come acros. There is a reason there are so many positive reviews, and they truly live up to them. Every single question, concern, and worry we had was worked through with us and for us, making our move completely seamless and easy. The entire team (Rhea, Sotiria, Ingrid + everyone else) has been fantastic throughout the process, and whenever staff members were off, others stepped right in and were more than happy to help.
