What Service?

What Service?? The service I have had from Romans has been very poor, I have had to use the estate agent we are buying from to step in and take over as no one at Romans could be bothered or even help to get things moving. I had to keep calling Romans to get an update, when I did manage to get something done myself, the person dealing with our sale left Romans and we had to start again with someone else. Then they had to play catch up but again did not have the go in them to chase our buyer, they asked me if I could do that for them, then just before Christmas he left and I had to get the estate agent we are buying from to step in and take over otherwise we would’ve lost our purchase.The manager at Burnham has since taken over and I’ve had no contact at all from him, I had to call him to let him know we’ve exchanged contracts but still no effort from Romans side. This is the first communication I’ve had from Romans since the exchange before Christmas. To say your service is shocking is an understatement and I would definitely not recommend you to anyone moving soon. To still claim your fee when you have done absolutely nothing is a joke, but I expect I will get some communication then when that’s due.

Professional, Polite and open communication

Romans where a very easy and professional Estate Agents to rent through. Despite my own situation being less than ideal for both Estate Agents and landlords they perfectly communicated between all three parties and secured am agreement in less than two days. With so many peoples financial lives decimated by COVID it was such a relief to have someone who didn’t just make life difficult and instead looked to resolve any issues. I dealt primarily with Katie in the Lettings team and she was extremely polite and yet professional. Getting back to any requests I had in fantastic time and I really felt like she cared about my business not just the money of it. Definitely secured a renter for many years to come and I’ll recommend the Swindon team to anyone looking to move in the area!

When me and my husband decided to buy a property, the Mortgage Broker recommended by Romans - Mr Himmet Sondh was just brilliant. He took time to explain the mortgage process and to find the best deal that matches our personal circumstances. He was very polite and helpful and replied to all of our queries immediately. He also put me in touch with one of his colleagues for life cover. Very efficient and excellent service. I would approach him again if I needed to.

I’m almost due to complete on my first house purchase and Romans have been great throughout the whole process. In particular Callum who initially showed us the property and helped during the offer stage and Stephanie who was there throughout and helped to push it all over the line. Having been looking at houses for a number of months and dealing with quite a few different agents, I’ve found Romans to be the best. They have always been friendly and helpful and we’re great at keeping me updated at every stage.

Buying through Romans was a breath of fresh air. Stephanie actually followed up, listened to what we wanted and found us what we asked for! Sounds simple but NO OTHER estate agents I contacted could manage this! Thank you Stephanie, fantastic service! We'll be back in 6 months to find our next investment! The only snag was being assigned a 'move manager' who was supposed to liaise between solicitors etc and keep things moving, she wasn't very good and only worked Mon-Wed. Stephanie ended up doing her job as well so I don't really see the point in that position.

Long term professional fully managed letting service.

We have used Romans fully managed letting service for many years and this has worked well for us, whilst overseas and also when back in UK.The property has been managed sensibly and we have benefited from continuity with a specific, named property manager (Donna-Marie Brant) who has been our point of contact over the long term. This provides us with confidence that queries from both the tenants and ourselves are addressed professionally, politely, consistently and promptly, together with ongoing personal knowledge of the letting history.

Shambles

Shambles 18 days and still we have not had our deposit back. We have now been told they will not be back until the 3rd Jan so will then be 29 days at least until they do anything. Over £1,000 owed and a young family of 5 just before Christmas Over 21 different letting managers in 10 years. They managed to lose the master keys for the property and we did a 312 mile round trip to deliver them back early so the landlord could get the house on the market faster and despite being told we would be reimbursed of course we have received/ heard nothing. Terrible company who are living up well to their cow boy image

Honestly the most horrific lettings…

Honestly the most horrific lettings company I think I've ever encountered. Left with no window in the kitchen for over a year . Another Unsafe window for 4 years.Water coming through my roof and into my living room for 4 years actually had to replace my lights and TV! Still to this day have water coming through the roof. Bathroom has no shower rail so water is literally rotting the floor and no sealant around the bath or working bath taps again ongoing for 4 years (since moving in ) keep promising it will be done but it never is . I've completely given up. they order contractors to quote it then do not get back to the contractors . Countless days taken off work to accommodate countless quotes none of which in 4 years have actually been told to complete the works . Currently sat with the sound of dripping water into a saucepan . They simply do not care . I don't leave reviews often but I would seriously avoid renting with this company they really really will leave you with a complete state of disrepair and nowhere to go and noone that will fix the issue . Four Years of literal water coming Into the living room. They have cost me so much money avoid.

Ok they got me a tenant

Ok they got me a tenant, that's the easy bit ! With a whole load of admin and service errors and issues I can only give them 2 stars. Think the problem is there are too many people in the process and you get moved to another new person at each stage of the letting out process. However, each person in the chain has not done the job properly. I am unable to recommend Roman's and once the tenancy is over I will move to another agent.

Amazing Service from the Staines branch

We received an amazing service from Yas, Jon and Ammar who dealt with our property purchase. They were very professional,ready to help and were able to update us with what was going on with the other side. As first time buyers, property buying can be a very daunting process. At the latter part of the process,Ammar too over the purchasing. He was always available to help, he explained the process, which questions we needed to ask our solicitors and explained all jargons used.They went above and beyond to make sure our purchase was completed in time.
