We bought our 1st home through Reeds Rains and they have been fantastic! Laura looked after us every step of the way and it felt like she was really on our side through the whole journey. She provided so much support chasing the seller and their solicitor and it really helped speed things up. Always quick to respond and we never had to wait long for a reply. Saw a house being sold by Reeds Rains, sent 2 messages via Rightmove and then an email directly. None were responded to. After a few days, decided to ring them to try & arrange a viewing. Managed to arrange the viewing. But had no explanation or apology for the lack of response. Went to the viewing, received no follow up or a request for feedback. I was just grateful we hadn't chosen them to sell our house!

I chose Reed Rains as they are an established estate agent within the area and felt they were best placed for the sale of my house and it proved to be the right choice. Communication throughout was constant and informative. The lines of communication were ideal as I dealt with the same person throughout. Very poor all round - we chose to rent through reeds rains when relocating back to the area and couldn't regret it more and will not continue past our term. Hands off is an under statement and everything from application through to maintenance has been excruciating. Our actual landlord is great but I feel bad for him that there's a % of rent payable to RR given that they do as little as possible and have left us speaking directly to landlord and repair contractors at every turn. I have never rented in the UK and this may be how every experience is but I have rented out properties through other companies and this has not at all been my experience. Right now we do not have a working bathroom and there is no sign that this is going to change unless we initiate the sewerage chamber repair ourselves which is not within our remit or contract. Useless. UPDATED. responding to Paul - you are not an easy man to get in touch with and there is still raw sewage where my children pay, a bathroom that does not function and no date for this being rectified. Amazed that you even bother to post replies but feel free to call us. Number is definately on file - my wife called today and when she explained why she wanted to speak with you, she was laughed at!!!!!! What a bunch of jokes you all are.

Unprofessional and unhelpful staff. We loved the property we inquired about, but the listing was not transparent hence why I think such a beauty property is still not rented yet and has even been reduced. There is no parking and it is unfurnished, though the listing will not state this. When called to ask, two agents could not point out to the written bit where it says it is unfurnished or furnished, with one condescending agent hanging up the phone.

I was in a tricky spot having been given notice to leave a previous rental due to landlady returning and he understood the urgency of a move, but also took into account me still needing to be in the area for my children's schooling and work. My experience

Before i moved in i was told the property was all electric,it is run by a Gas boiler I was without heat in very cold weather.At the very least it would be ideal if I would have been given a folder of useful information re how to use the heating controls, how to get into the metre cupboard, how to use the security intercom to let visitors in etc... I am still struggling with the gas as I dont have an account number. Ive found the whole experience very stressful

One of the WORST estate agents I've…

One of the WORST estate agents I've ever been with. From the onset there were issues. They'll intentionally ignore all calls and emails. I had to go legal and I also had to get the council involved due to the extent of problems. The council kept having to chase them up as they just didn't care. The landlord was an awful person who took no liability for the damages which she KNEW about. I got a prohibition on my bedroom meaning I was forced to sleep in the living room, I got no compensation or any reduction in rent. I fact they ignored any calls or emails related to that. On top of this they sold my house 4 months after moving in. This was the point they started treating me the worst. I had support letters from social workers and all types of evidence. Photos of dead rats, clothes covered in mould etc.

They are professional and knowledgeable about the all the complexities of the process, and so friendly and courteous too. When I was concerned about how to upload documents for financial checks, they found other ways and were very reassuring that all was fine.
