The very best Estate Agents

I'd like to highly recommend Steven Spencer and team from the Strutt & Parker Gerrards Cross office. We had been looking to move home for the past 18 months and struggled to find the perfect property which met our family’s needs. Steven was very patient with us and showed us many different properties. At no time did he try to force a sale, instead he showed us properties which all could genuinely work. Caroline Clark disgraceful attitude.

We've dealt with Caroline Clark twice over the past year and we are truly disgusted with her manners. Very unprofessional and abrupt, cannot wait to get rid of you!Do not waste your money doing reference checks with her, she's not open and honest about what the landlord will and will not accept. You will pay for the reference only to discover that there's some reason that you can't be accepted as a tenant. Her one-liner emails are very impersonal. She forgets that she's made an appointment for a house viewing and has kept us waiting at a property while she casually drives up without an apology. The worst customer service ever. Disgusting.

Recent house purchase

Without going into details, we were becoming downhearted and depressed about selling our house and buying a new place. Then, by great fortune we came across Strutt and Parker, and Gina Simpson in particular. Gina has what is nowadays the rare quality of inspiring trust, and it’s the lack of trust that makes house buying / selling so hard these days. From the outset Gina has been positive, and calming when our nerves were shredded. Excellent service from start to finish. Olivia has been amazing and quite frankly instrumental in facilitating our flat purchase. We nearly went with Purple Bricks to save us some money, what a mistake that would have been!!Not only was the entire process stress free, with Victoria and team always on hand to answer (unlike horror stories I've heard from other well known firms!), it's fair to say the expertise from Strutt Parker made up for the financial saving AND SOME tenfold, due to being able to market our property personally, to a tailored audience of ready to buy clientele who gained more on our sale price than any basic Rightmove listing could ever acheive.

I thought carefully about writing this review as normally I wouldn't take the time to do such a thing. But I really thought that this S&P office in St Albans were very unprofessional and lacked any customer service. However, I must say there was a Secretary who I spoke to who was lovely. Just to give some context, I responded to an ad for a 2 bed property. I received no response therefore emailed the agent directly. Again, no response. So i emailed again. Finally after 4 days, the agent called. I am a nurse so they left a message asking me to contact them. I'm a nurse so was unable to call until that evening, so I text the agent asking to view. Again, no response. I text 3 times that day, no response. I called around 5.30 that evening and left a voicemail. The next day, I again received no response to which I text again stating i'd email, text, and called and no response so was there someone else I should speak with. At this point the agent called me back early that afternoon. We arrange to view the property on Monday. When I attended, the usual show around was done and I advised I'd be putting in an offer. I advised, I needed to move quickly, and would appreciate him letting me know asap. He said as soon as he got in his car he would email me the details. This was mid-afternoon. It was only later in the evening that I received the email asking three things - offer, job title, who'd be living there, and moving date. Which I completed immediately. To this day - I never received an acknowledgement of that email or a response. In fact, despite sending him again a couple of further emails asking him to response he did not. We led to me contacting the office, then a colleague 3 days later. She advised me that the landlord had accepted another offer, which was now going through referencing. She said that she would speak to the said graduate agent. Following this, you'd of thought you'd have received and apology from him BUT nothing. Whilst I appreciate people are busy, but given the current situation in the world, how difficult it is moving home customer service and kindness is key. If you cannot provide a good service to the number of people you invite in, invite less and instead do a good job.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Gina Simpson We can sumarise Gina’s support for us in terms of selling our house in one word, superb! We decided to interview three estate agents before putting our home of 44 years on the market. We used the ‘Which’ guide to interviewing agents as a basis. Gina came out ‘head and shoulders’ above the opposition. She was, and has remained throughout this long transaction period, polite, courteous, professional, knowledgeable, personable and consistent. She has a good sense of fun which goes a long way to relieving the pressures that moving to a new house can create. She also suggested, and achieved, a sale price of £25k above the opposition’s suggestion, which was helpful, but not by any means the most important factor. It took one visit on day one of entering the market for Gina to secure our buyer…. and 14 months for the house to sell. Gina remained in touch throughout those 14 months, phoning us regularly on the same day each week to update us. We can only praise her professionalism! Now the deal is done, and we can reflect on the process. We know we made the right choice in choosing Strutt and we know we made the right choice in choosing Gina as your representative to carry through the process. She is a great agent and a fantastic representative of your sales department. As we said at the beginning, superb! Many thanks to all the team too, particularly Daryl-Lee. Only one thing to add, we are still looking for a home in the Wendover/ Chinnor area and would appreciate some help from Strutt to achieve this. I moved into my beautiful 450 year old cottage last month and thanks to Gina the process of buying my future home was a very happy one. Although the process ended up taking nearly 15 months the friendly, professional, honest and calm nature of Gina made the whole process stress free. Gina kept in constant contact with both me and the lovely couple I bought the cottage from. This meant everyone was well informed and, although the chain was broken a couple of times due to problems with my buyers, Gina created a good level of trust with all parties which kept us on track! Gina was quick to respond to any queries or worries I had throughout the process and her bubbly friendly personality made her a pleasure to deal with. Strutt & Parker have been Excellent

Strutt & Parker (Sevenoaks) have been excellent through the whole sales process of our house. Victoria Rose was professional, considerate and fun to work with. She also helps take away a lot of the inevitable stress when selling your house. Updates were frequent, but not overwhelming and the choice of communicating through phone or text made things easier when too busy or unavailable to make a call. We originally bought the house through Strutt & Parker and now, 6 years later, have sold it through S&P again. Strutt & Parker’s knowledge of, and their expertise in, the rural housing market in East Kent is the principal reason we first considered using them for our house sale - and we have not been disappointed in that. As a result, the sale proceeded smoothly, despite the interruption of lockdown.Selling a home and buying a new one is normally the largest, most complex and most important transaction of people’s lives. Take the stress out of moving

We commissioned Stutt & Parker to sell our lovely Victorian house recently. The tone and positioning of the Marketing was right on point for this part of the market something we had fallen down on with previous agents. The quality of potential buyers was top notch so no time wasting and the communications from Simon & Jane gave us confidence that we were in good hands with some tricky negotiations needed at times. I used S and P partly because they offered the highest price estimate and partly because I knew that, as a large company, their contacts to the likely markets were strong. Overall, my experience was good. The marketing material was high quality. I thought that there was an underestimation of my home's principal USP ie granny flat. There was lots of talk of multi generational living but that missed the point: grannies need to be on the ground floor. My other observation is that I thought S and P were far too slow to return staff after the first lockdown when business cleaaly picked up. That was UNFAIR on the remaining staff of whom too much was asked and not a good advert. I was grateful to Rozanne as manager particularly in the latter stages of both the sale and purchase.
