I have just had the pleasure of dealing with Sharon, Adam and the rest of the guys at Gascoigne Halman. I can honestly say the service Sharon provided from putting an offer in to completion was nothing short of outstanding. She was professional and reassuring throughout the process. Which is exactly what you need during the stress of buying a house. Having dealt with other estate agents in Heaton Moor in the past I can confidently say they blow the rest out of the water. Sharon was amazing from start to finish. We were first time buyers and she was on hand to support us and answer our questions. I've just exchanged on my flat purchase with Gascoigne Halman Heaton Moor after long delays due to my solicitors. If it wasn't for Sharon and the team I would of pulled out a long while ago. We recently completed the sale of our house and our experience with Gascoigne Halman was smooth from start to finish from first valuation to handing over the keys. Communication was great and the team proactively updated us along the way. At valuation Adam was knowledgeable about the market and we had a really open and detailed discussion. Adam, George and Sharon handled the rest of the process with viewings, offers and negotiations and regular updates expertly. The most genuine Estate Agents I've ever experienced. Would definitely recommend to others and use again in future.

Terrible communication

I would try to steer clear of this company if possible. We have rented a property through this agency and it has been a nightmare. Communication is horrendous, you cannot get hold of anyone at all. We even went into the branch about our queries and still were told that no one was available and someone would contact us (which they didn’t). The property was not ready for us to move into on the agreed date and we were not told about this until we chased and chased about needing more info on moving in.

5 star experience, I would like to thank Sharon Prestwood especially in sales, I was in the process of buying a house and she came in and took control of the sale and made sure nothing was missed and all parties were updated accordingly. I was really happy with everything from start to finish with Gascoigne Halman. They achieved a great price for the sale and the house was sold after only a couple weeks after they had managed to facilitate quite a few viewings in short order, resulting in multiple offers. Thereafter the team, especially Sharon, were great at keeping me up to date and showed great patience dealing with many queries from the buyers. I hope never to sell a house again, but wouldn’t hesitate to go with them if I did.

I recently bought a house sold by Gascogne Holman Heaton Moor. Sharon was the estate agent dealing with the property, and she was incredibly helpful at every stage of the process, from initial viewings through to completion. We also had two viewings with Beth, and Adam and George also helped a lot throughout the purchase. I would like to thank them all. When I visited the office to pick up the keys, Adam and Sharon were there and I could tell that they were frankly happy for us (rather than just being happy that they completed the transaction). If we ever come to sell the house, I’m certain we will do it with Gascoigne Halman Heaton Moor.

Absolutely terrible experience with…

Absolutely terrible experience with this letting agent. After the landlord withdrew an agreed offer, we were left out of pocket and still have not had our deposit returned. Communication has been poor throughout, with constant delays and little accountability. We felt completely unsupported and ignored when trying to resolve the issue fairly. I would strongly advise others to be very cautious before dealing with this agency. They tried to make us send them thousands of pounds with no contract given then last minute withdrew the offer and are refusing to give the deposit back. Absolutely dreadful agency.

Absolutely excellent from start to finish of the house sale - one local agent kept phoning to see if we 'had come to a decision to market the property' which lost them any business, whereas GH did the visit to see the place and then said they'd leave us alone and it was up to us to give it the go-ahead or not. No pestering - excellent. Once we gave them the thumbs-up we had a string of viewers within days, and eventually exceeded the guide price by a small margin which suggests the guide price was accurate too. The staff at Gascoigne Halman were always on hand and worked brilliantly, especially Georgia who made sure everyone was kept in touch with any and all news and developments as things progressed, resulting in a sale a fortnight before Christmas which was exactly what buyers and sellers wanted. I would heartily recommend this outift.

Fantastic experience from start to finish when selling our house. Adam, who did the initial valuation, was very honest and gave great advice regarding timescales and how to get the best possible price. Very disappointing service and maintenance for the rented flat, no responsibility or care for their own property. My husband and myself rented a flat from GH. After the tenancy we left the property clean and acceptable condition.We received a £550 deposit claim, including charges for cleaning (£250), decoration and painting (£150), and a radiator leak (£115), while our deposit was £1000. We rented this apartment for a year.When we moved into the property, it was in poor condition with an unpleasant odour. We raised this with the agency several times, but no action was taken. Bathroom cealing water leak and light damage have reported multiple times through mails and calls and it took them months to repair this and after coming they didn't repair it completely , paint started to fall off due to leaking in the ceiling.Ongoing issue eventually caused ceiling damage and now we are asked to pay for this. Boiler and heater was also damaged and remained unrepaired for a week despite repeated escalations.Throughout our tenancy, we did not have any leaking radiators, we haven't done anything on walls, was kept like how they had given to us. I hope this review may help future tenants to be more informed.
