We recently sold our lovely semi-detached house with Ian Tonge Property Services in High Lane. We had four agents around, initially two from Disley, one who works under an online umbrella, and Ian Tonges. The valuations were very varied, but I trusted Jason Tonge as he grew up in the area, and I felt his knowledge was far superior than the other agents. We went with his valuation, and he was spot on, which meant the calculations we had done enabled us to move to our dream home. Great team, very friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone.

I chose to sell me property through Ian Tonge after a friend recommended them. I am pleased to say she was spot on! Having sold a few properties in the area i wish i had used them earlier because they are by far and away the most knowledgeable, efficient and experienced agent i have used. The whole team made the entire process a seamless one when it could have been very stressful. From start to finish i was impressed with their guidance which was spot on. You can really tell they know their stuff and what an advantage it was to have someone local who knows the area inside out!

I’ve had amazingly good service from this Estate Agent, Ian Tonge. The estate agents are not always known for diligence, tact and charm, but this company is different. As their client you get 5* treatment from day 1. They are prompt to act on any request, and the staff communicate well. They are always polite and professional but most of all - they listen. My sale was a bit slow and complicated but I couldn’t have asked for a better service. They’re a class above any Estate Agent Ive encountered before. I hope never to have to move again but should I need to, there’s no other firm I would use.

GoogleAvoid this agent at all costs- recently used them to purchase a property which an offer was agreed and paperwork begun. Almost 2 weeks into the sale the agent called to inform us we had been “gazumped” and this agency actively promote and support offers being taken on properties that have pretty much sold. Left to foot the cost of solicitor bills with the agent denying they’ve shown the property to others after our agreed sale. Out for how much money they get for properties by trying to begin bidding wars and lying to cover their tracks- not illegal just immoral and gazumping not supported by many other estate agents. Avoid Stephen in particular who is condescending, unhelpful and professionally un trustworthy.

To clarify the point it’s the owners of the property that make the final decision. I sold my mother's High Lane bungalow in Spring '26 through Ian Tonge. While initial price guidance proved a touch optimistic, a modest cut in asking price produced a decent number of viewings. After accepting an offer the process was smooth enough and I was kept well informed on the progress.

I contacted Ian Tonge regarding 2 properties in January which came on the market around the same time, my son was relocating back to the U.K. and needed a home for his family. I called in and spoke to a lady called Elaine/Eileen, who was quite abrupt saying an offer had been received on both properties, however one of them was still taking names and offers! I did find this extremely unprofessional and wouldn’t encourage gazumping at all, but I left my details as they were what my son wanted in the right area hoping that a sale may fall through. A few months passed and nothing so I emailed the agents in March as I walked past regularly and the for sale sign still present. However no reply at all! This property was mid June before the board changed, very unhelpful and I wouldn’t use for selling or buying personally.

Having both bought and sold properties through Tonges estate agents we have found them to be outstanding throughout the whole process. Staff were always so friendly and helpful and always keep you informed about the process. Without any doubt or hesitation we would strongly use them time and time again.

Completely useless as estate agent. In my view, they were trying to sell a property while downplaying or failing to properly address multiple significant defects that later came to light during the survey process. Buyers should carry out thorough due diligence and obtain an independent survey before proceeding.

We bought a property through the hazel grove branch, it was very traumatic the agents wasn’t very forth coming In any part of our sale, they wasn’t very unprofessional on the day one of there agents handed the keys over she said she thought that a developer would of bought the property which explained all the delays and lack of interest from the agents .

GoogleI cannot begin to put into words the positive experience i had with selling my late Mother's house through Ian Tonge Property Services in High Lane. I live 240 miles away from the house being sold, but whenever I needed any help, no matter what it was, Tonge's stepped in. Apart from their invaluable advice, they also arranged for a Pest Control person to visit to deal with a mouse infestation, arranged an electrician to visit when there was an electrical problem, and arranged for a heating and plumbing engineer to visit. They even offered to visit the house on a weekly basis and check it over in order to validate the house insurance. This was all done at no extra cost. Without Tonge's and their constant updates and help I don't know how I would have managed. I would not hesitate therefore, to recommend Ian Tonge Property Services. They are simply the best!

In all our dealings they were knowledgeable, professional, polite, and personable. They vetted viewing prospects to deter time wasters and ensure only serious parties viewed the property. Within four weeks we had three interested parties and a buyer in a short chain. This was despite the cessation of the stamp duty holiday. Once we accepted an offer, they continued to progress the transaction through the various stages including survey, exchange, and completion. In our view they were 100% committed to the process from start to finish, and their expertise and skills ensured we marketed the property to its full potential, to the correct prospects to obtain the best results for all. GoogleI have recently used Ian Tonge Property Services at their Hazel Grove office, as I needed to find a new house tenancy quickly due to the property I was renting coming to an end and going up for sale, after identifying a property being for Let on their website, I called the office and requested a viewing, both Pip and Angela in the tenancy team at the Hazel Grove office were fully understanding to my needs, from the first contact and initial viewing of the property to the application, searches and administration the whole process was quick, seamless and very professional, all was incredibly easy, no issues from start to finish, all carried out with the attention and care I hoped for. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone who is looking for a tenancy or house let in the Stockport/Hazel Grove area to review the Ian Tonge Property and letting Services website, altogether a very professional and personal service, all conducted quickly and easily with no fuss or stress, 10/10.

Called Ian Tongue for a valuation on my house. And the son of Ian Tongue came out. As far as first impressions go, not fantastic. He spoke over me. Ignored what J was telling him. Told me that he sold "loads of this type of House and already had a listing ready" and put a value in about 15% lower than everyone else. He was just interested in churning the houses out and getting his fixed fee.

From the initial valuation with Jason right through to the completion, which was fraut with complications, they were very efficient. Madeleine kept me in the loop through the whole process. Lots of broken promises here! You will pay a lot of money for very little service if you employ this firm, and I recommend you look elsewhere if you're selling your home. I was made a number of assurances before signing on the dotted line, but when it came to it, the Director of this company did not keep his word. The interest he said he'd generate did not materialise (2 brief viewings in 12 weeks!), the reduced fee he offered without prompt was not given in the end, and the support with sourcing removal firms for our relocation amounted to him just passing me his mate's phone number! Very disappointing indeed. Take your business elsewhere.
