I had a very disappointing experience renting through Foxtons. My property manager, Dominic Pepper, was extremely difficult to contact. He rarely answered phone calls, did not return calls, and failed to provide updates regarding the issues I repeatedly raised. Most concerns were not resolved in a timely manner, and I was often left chasing for information. The previous property manager was much more responsive and at least made an effort to address problems. The most frustrating part was towards the end of my tenancy when the property was being marketed. Despite informing Foxtons several times that I work night shifts and have a young baby, they continued to arrange viewings 2, 3 times a day. I specifically requested that viewings be grouped together into a single time slot to minimise disruption, but my requests were ignored. The constant interruptions made it extremely difficult to rest after night shifts and caused unnecessary stress for my family. Based on my experience, Foxtons are excellent at attracting tenants and securing the deal, but their aftercare and communication are very poor. Once you’ve signed the tenancy agreement, don’t expect the same level of service. Overall, I found the communication poor, customer service lacking, and my circumstances were not taken into consideration despite repeatedly explaining them. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst renting experiences I’ve had, and I would not recommend Foxtons based on my experience.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was genuinely unacceptable. On Friday, March 6, I saw that a listing had just been updated on Rightmove at 12:00 PM. I called the office at around 12:30 PM and was told all agents were out on viewings (be honest it's lunch but okkkk). I asked when would be a better time to call back, as I knew the property would move quickly. I could hear multiple voices in the background, yet I was told no one was available and no one knew when anyone would be free?!?!?!? I called again at 3:45 PM and was given the same response. I made it clear I wanted to arrange a viewing before close of business so I could see the property over the weekend. Apparently not a single person was available across five business hours on a Friday!?!?! When I called on Saturday, I was told weekend viewings must be arranged on Friday. That is exactly what I had tried to do. I was later given an agent’s contact details and told someone would call me back. NOPE! I reached out directly and still received no response by close of business Monday. The most frustrating part is that I called again and was eventually told on Monday at 3:59 PM that the property had actually been let during lunch on Friday!! This means it was already gone when I made my very first call. So I spent days chasing a property that was no longer available while being repeatedly told agents were simply “out on viewings.” When I called to escalate the issue, I was told the office was empty after 4:00 PM and that I COULD NOT have just spoken to someone, despite having call records showing a conversation at 3:59 PM lasting over two minutes AS NOBODY WAS IN OFFICE, the reception "CHECKED CAMS!". Being effectively told that a call I had minutes earlier did not happen was extremely dismissive and unprofessional. I have viewed several properties with this team before, and my husband has previously rented through them, so this was particularly disappointing. For an agency that positions itself as premium, this experience felt careless, disorganised, and misleading. Sadly, this has completely eroded my trust.

I contacted Foxtons in Harrow when my brother was given a terminal diagnosis. Hexin came to his house and looked around then gave me a valuation. Hexin understood the urgency of the sale and within days we had viewngs and an offer was accepted. Unfortunately my brother passed away. The sale fell through and we had to wait for Probate . During this very difficult and emotional time Hexin and her team worked tirelessly to get viewings done and offers in. Foxtons at Harrow have been an absolute revelation as to how to conduct an estate agency by comparison to other agents in the Harrow area. Ever since putting our home up for sale with them, and being introduced to my account manager Hexin, the journey has been exemplary both under her guidance, and others supporting her at the branch. We had by far the most viewings, even in these difficult times. The offers made were very low in this buyers market, so we decided to utilise their auction facility. There was still great continuity between the auction department and the Harrow branch, so the Foxton representatives doing the show around still had the already extensive knowledge of the property. The whole auction process took around 2 months to completion, with absolutely no issues. We also achieved a £20k higher price than any previous offer. Yes, Foxtons are slightly more expensive, but worth every penny given the stress free smoothness of the operation. Thank you Hexin, the team at Foxtons Harrow, and the auctions and legal teams.
