Excellent experience with Hunters

We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

Hunters provided me with such an outstanding service from beginning to end of renting a property for myself and my daughter. To start with Chris was early for the viewing - massive tick for me, tired of no shows and hearing “sorry I’m late” he was very enthusiastic and friendly and I rented the property immediately after the viewing. He continued to guide me through the process and was on hand for any help with paperwork and advise. Such a professional company and all members of staff are a credit to the Harrogate branch.

I am very happy with Hunters. We bought our first house with Hunters in 1999 and now Hunters is looking after our house and it's tenants. Everything ran very smoothly from the organizing the gas certificate to finding the right tenants. I live away from Harrogate and I wanted an agent who agreed to give me a quick video WhatsApp call from the house when necessary rather than write me long emails from the office. Buying and selling can be stressful and we had our fair share of bad luck but James L, Kitty and team were proactive, supportive, helpful, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. The stress load was lightened by these guys and each challenge overcome. We were so happy with them we recommended them to our friend who was not disappointed either. Both of us getting a good price for our properties. We actually changed agent's mid-process to Hunters and don't regret it. Not only because we sold with Hunters for 16% more... .thanks again guys! Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

1 bed property Sparks Close, Dagenham, RM8 - Landlord and hunters agent where complicit in illegal procedures regarding discrimination. We went through all the paper work and wasted 2 weeks till they call me and tell me the Landlord dont want a baby in the property. Don't trust them slow untrust worthy. And definitely dont rent the sparks close 1 bed property, Landlord seems like a handful save your self

Would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to move. From start to finish, every member of staff we’ve spoken to has always been so helpful and friendly too! My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

After a bad experience with another estate agent we decided to swap to Hunters to sell our house. They managed to get an offer from the first viewing. James was great with the communication pre offer and got several viewings booked in right at the start. Once we received our offer Victoria took over and again was brilliant at keeping communication open between all parties and the sale running smoothly from offer to completion All staff at Hunters Harrogate are incredibly friendly, making what can be a very stressful time, a whole lot better. Since we actually also bought our new house from Hunters, we know that the team is just as great from the buyers stand point.

Robot refused to give me a viewing

Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.

Avoid with all cost!

Rented an apartment they told me it was deep cleaned before handing over the keys and everything would be fixed etc nothing was cleaned blood on walls mould in all rooms had a faulty/leaky boiler very slack on emails no communication in there office also they was very rude over the phone we never moved into the property due to all the damages and mould etc I was willing to give up my first months rent and for them to send me back the deposit but they refused to send anything back I would highly do not recommend this company/agancey to rent/buy a property from they are useless and slack

"Avoid Hunters Property Management, Inefficient, Rude, and Unprofessional"My experience with Hunters Property Management has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They have consistently demonstrated poor service, inefficiency, and a dismissive attitude towards tenant concerns.Ineffective Issue Resolution: Hunters fails to handle even basic maintenance issues. For example, a heating issue during winter was passed to the landlord without any attempt to troubleshoot. I had to step in and take personal risks to resolve the problem myself, only to discover it was a simple battery replacement. Their inability to perform even basic triage highlights their lack of professionalism and problem-solving capabilities.Creating Gaps Between Tenants and Landlords: Instead of acting as a competent mediator, Hunters merely relays messages between tenants and landlords, causing delays and unnecessary misunderstandings. This approach has damaged the relationship between myself and the landlord, as the agency often fails to communicate effectively or accurately.Rude and Dismissive Behavior: The staff frequently respond to concerns with a dismissive tone, making tenants feel unsupported and undervalued. Their arrogant demeanor gives the impression that addressing tenant concerns is a favor rather than their responsibility.Neglecting Tenant Safety and Comfort: Health and safety issues, such as rat infestations and malfunctioning alarms, were not addressed promptly, despite the serious risks they posed. The lack of urgency in handling these matters has caused significant stress and discomfort for my family.Minimal Value Added: Hunters operates more like a messenger than a property management service. They fail to provide meaningful solutions and seem content to pass the burden of responsibility onto others, leaving tenants to fend for themselves.Overall, Hunters Property Management has proven to be unprofessional, inefficient, and dismissive.
