Illegal

They will call you in and tell you to speak to their mortgage advisor who then tells you that he can get you the property if you sign up with them for £660+ non refundable, he will use their own solicitors too. My wife and I asked what about the other bidders and he said, the vendor won’t see those bids don’t worry. This is completely illegal and we walked away, he then said you are willing to walk away from this deal and get outbid. I said yes I would rather lose out on 20k than give you one penny. It’s kickbacks galore in that place and we know full well we will now not get that property. I would love to speak to the person selling the house but they have moved abroad and left these clowns in charge.

Bridgfords letting Manchester…IF YOU ARE A LANDLORD PLEASE AVOID USING THIS COMPANY AS YOUR LETTING AGENCY.I’ve seen many landlords complain that they are not getting any viewings or any tenants. This is not due to your house trust me, It is due to the fact that you are using Bridgeford lettings.Me as a renter l personally would never make the mistake of renting another property that is managed by Bridgeford lettings. They are honestly so completely rude I could not believe it was a real company that I was dealing with. Paul Craffey from the branch in Manchester should honestly be fired. He makes a show of the company. All staff follow after him with his disgusting attitude.Not to add they also do not care about the property, the landlord, nor the tenant.they are just there to finish their shift and go you can tell by the way all of them behave. I can assure you not even one of their employees are trained in customer service it’s so sad.

Worst company I have ever dealt with in…

Worst company I have ever dealt with in my life!!We moved in roughly 5 years ago to a house that was in need of a lot of tlc. The first year was fine and we renewed for another 12 months. Then came the problem with our bathroom floor. It had rotted and crumbled away leaving a huge hole in the floor. Numerous reports were made and it took almost 3 years for them to send out someone to do a quote. Again, we heard nothing after this. After more pushing we got another quote and then once again, nothing. In 2022 we got an email with “end of tenancy checkout” which we had no idea about. I rang them to ask what was going on and they said “oh yeah the landlord wants his house back you’ll get a section 21 in the post”. Nothing came and I said what is going on and they replied saying “sorry it was sent in error you can stay”. What the ****” Fast forward another year and we get a section 21. It comes to us needing to leave and a potential landlady asks for a reference and she says sorry I can’t do it they’ve given a poor reference. Obviously I asked them what they had said and they accused us of not paying rent!!! We have always paid and had agreements in writing. They said our rent comes through in two separate transactions on their system even though it’s sent in full on payment and I have sent them bank statements to show this, they won’t budge. So now they are refusing to give us a reference and we are becoming homeless in 9 days time as no landlords will accept us due to their false information!I am absolutely disgusted with how they have treated us. We have children and they’re happy for us to be without a home due to lies! They are rude and do not communicate. This is the York branch. Vicki especially is the worst of the lot!AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

I have never known a company who are so disorganised. At first all seemed OK, prompt visit from the Manager, then utter chaos, Photographs not updated as promised, dates of viewings incorrect despite emailing available dates, ultimately ending with me having to call to ask if my property was let as I had people from another agency wanting to move into my property there and then. Having confirmed that the property had been let by Bridgfords, I was informed that I had got the asking price, only to find that the manager had negotiated £50.00 per month less and to add insult to injury Bridgfords have engaged an energy company called ‘Spark’ (never heard of them) to take over my main residences Electricity and I can’t get back to my own chosen supplier, Is this even legal?. Absolutely Farce. Be extremely careful and keep an eye on what they are doing !!!

Terrible communication, valuations and organisation.

We sold our flat with Bridgfords Swinton and the experience with them was terrible from start to finish. They over-valued our property by £15,000, meaning that when our buyers applied for their mortgage they refused to give them their full amount, causing us to have to sell the property for £15,000 less as we didn’t have the time to put the property back in the market due to our chain. We had further issues with our buyers’ mortgage application causing a huge delay in the sale, and we actually ending up initially losing our forward purchase due to this. Throughout this whole nightmare Bridgfords were absolutely useless. We told them time and time again to call my partner instead of me, due to our professions, and they constantly ignored this and rang me. We had to deal with our buyers directly as Bridgfords had very little communication with either of us, and would actually ring us to ask for an update on our buyers situation! Causing us more stress and an extra party to deal with and update. Whenever we spoke with Bridgfords they had absolutely no idea what was going on and couldn’t keep track of any part of the sale. They were by far more of a hinderance than a help. They also didn’t conduct any showings of our flat themselves (as they had initially sold to us) and we had to do every showing as whenever we asked them they said they were busy. They charged us £2,200 for the pleasure of all of this.Overall, if we ever come to sell again we will be sure to steer clear of Bridgfords and would highly advise others do the same.

Dont Waste Your Time

I had a very bad experience with one of their estate agent in cheadle hulme. Be aware of Omara, she views you the property and stands still and doesn't even puts up an effort to speak or show the property. A pure lack of training and wonder how bridgfords keep a check? On top, if there's other properties to see, they'd give you excuses and never deliver what they promise, delays on delays. I guess barely they have good agents and mostly its all bad. Its pitty to know what such companies has such employee who works as if they are forced to do so.

Horrendous experience with Bridgfords…

Horrendous experience with Bridgfords as a buyer. While being shown a property by Bridgfords in Knaresborough, we were told by the estate agent that there is no need to do a survey on the property as the previous interested party had done one and there was nothing to worry about. I found this very unprofessional and alarm bells were ringing and rightly so as it later turned out that the house was built from a non-standard construction. At a later date we viewed another property with Bridgfords and this time communication was a serious issue, it was extremely difficult to get hold of anyone in the office, often we would call and the phone would be picked up and then instantly slammed down, we would walk past the office and see plenty of staff in the office and our calls being ignored. We ended up missing out on the property as we were simply unable to get through to them. Overall, an extraordinarily poor experience.

Do not trust them, they will rob you blind

Do not under any circumstances go with these! They will steal from you. They never asked prior to us applying whether we would need a guarantor and because it became obvious we did after application they decided not to go with us and stole our holding deposit from us. We a family with a small child and a baby on its way and they refused to give us our money back. They wouldn't budge a little bit. Not even offer a little bit back. Horrible estate agent that will rob you blind. Do not trust them!!!!

Zero engagement for deposit return

My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Bridgfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back.Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request.An agent did respond so say someone from the deposit team would be in touch.Chased again on 22nd Jan advising that nothing had been heard - to date zero response.They were very good when it came to take my money. There can be no excuse for the lack of engagement. A dispute has been raised with MyDeposit.

I wouldn’t recommend. They set you up with an energy supplier even though you withdraw from an application. I didn’t even sign the contract and they raised an account without my consent. I had to be on the phone for almost an hour to close an account I didn’t even set up which will take 6-8 weeks with OVO. The staff at Stockport are lovely but I got spoken to like I was a child when I called up asking why this happened by Katherine when in the past she’s been nice. I don’t recommend Bridgfords. 👎🏾

Terrible agency in Leeds!! Terrible communication!!!Been booked for viewing, saying tenant not free and postpone to next day. And then next day no show again, when I call they said tenant not free again and need to postpone to the next day again.. on the 3rd day once again they cancelled my viewing saying the property was taken.. without telling.I do understand flat/house goes fast, the problem is they are time wasters and never notice u when situation changed! All three days i have to find out myself the viewing booking was cancelled..... I do not live in city center and need to spend time and money to travel to viewing.. and the staff who pick up the phone is really rude and unprofessional! They have so many excuses.Luckily we didn't work with them i guess. If we did rent from them, can't imagine how disaster it will be. Be ware of!!!

Rude staff

Staff from their Manchester office made an unsolicited call to me asking if I would move my property to their estate agent so they could market it for me. When I declined. He preceded to pressure me. When he wasn’t going to get what he wanted, he decided to insult me and drop the phone on me. I called back requesting for an apology, but the lady I spoke to tried to cover for the rude guy. Avoid this company, they are no good.

Avoid.Politely & calmly registered a complaint within the Penketh/Westbrook Warrington branch after our doorbell camera recorded a Bridgefords employee needlessly verbally insulting us whilst at the front of our property. All members of staff informed have been dismissive & even whilst we have the evidence no formal apology has been given by the member of staff involved. I find the lack of accountability on a basic decent human behaviour level to be rude, unprofessional & has made our experience with Bridgefords unpleasant.

A one star rating is too good for this…

A one star rating is too good for this business! Completely inept from the agent to their so-called professional mortgage broker. Allowed seller's solicitor to harass and bully me and also bombarded me with messages whilst at work but didn't answer calls when I tried to contact them. I am now out of pocket as seller has withdrawn the property even though it still shows for sale.
