GoogleWe were lucky enough to find a beautiful that was marketed by Brigfords, Harrogate.
The estate agent we dealt with, Michael, was incredibly helpful and kept us up to date with the progress of the sale every week. He was positive but realistic.
I would recommend Brigfords to others in the future.

TrustpilotWHY CANT WE AWARD A ZERO STAR?!
Unfortunately, there is no option for "no stars" or they would get it. Bridgfords Letting Agents, Whitworth St, they let me an apartment, allowed me to move in, wires sticking out of the fuse box, broken smoke alarm, no running water, they say its not their job to check the flat had services in situ. They refuse to say they have done anything wrong, and tell me, its legal what they have done. In their advert, they failed to tell me that the apartment is in a block, with specialist fire measures! Then my balcony door broke, I'm on the 13th floor and they left it stuck open for 6 weeks with driven wind and snow at one point! they sent a painter and decorator to try and fix it, who didn't have a clue, and broke it further with his plyers and a screwdriver. Then there was the bathroom, they sent a "plumber" out to fix a broken shower, who announced he had to "demolish" the bathroom to fix it. I had to stop him, and call the Landlord before he did any more damage. A proper Plumber was called and it was a faulty valve, which was replaced in 20 minutes.Just as we thought we had scraped the bottom of the barrel with their "talents" last night, they appear to have let themselves into my apartment (without my consent or knowledge) unmade my bed, moved my personal belongings and disposed of my bed. Now, I have to have the morning off work AGAIN to go and see what's gone on. In my opinion, they are an absolute disgrace and shouldn't be trusted with anyone's property.

Never experienced such a horrible arrogant man as James Dodd in Bridgfords Macclesfield..his customer service is appalling..I viewed a house in March that had a huge structural flaw so I pulled out before anything official was done..James Dodd was so nasty to me..my son 9 months on decided he would buy it with advice from a builder about how to rectify it..James immediately asked him if he was related to me..my son put the highest offer in yet James actually talked the seller into taking a lower offer and so rudely told my son it was transparent he’d try and lower the offer further down the line! Who on earth does he think he is to do this and lie to the seller ?? And make assumptions about my son..his manner is truly dreadful and I will be taking this to the ombudsman..avoid at all costs..this guy is on a huge power trip!!

TrustpilotBeing a neighbour of Bridgfords of…
Being a neighbour of Bridgfords of Bamber Bridge/Preston. I personally would not recommend using them. The House was rented out to tenants with dangerous dogs and smokers of cannabis . The owner stipulated no dogs and no smoking. I have been forced to vacate my house due to the stench of cannabis in my home . This was hours of cannabis smoking not just a one off occasion . Some days 12 hours of the pungent stench in my home . A home which I worked hard to pay for . Bridgfords ignore this and allow these tenants to remain even though police have confiscated cannabis next door and had evidence of the stench .The tenants have started to harass me on a daily basis with threats of getting me sometime soon. They are in breach of contract and the agents , the misuse of drugs act 1971. it is easy for their property managers to look the other way whilst taking a full management fee. I was going to use Bridgfords to let my property but looking at the deterioration of my neighbours home and their choice of tenants , I will definitely go elsewhere. Is it perhaps only this branch?

TrustpilotAppalling Behaviour/Service
Our experience with an agent at our local Bridgfords has been utterly awful. They have behaved appallingly and their “sales” tactics could be described as bullying. They have used a form of emotional blackmail by using a property (That was Managed by them) we had expressed an interest in as a carrot so that they could sell our house for us. We knew this would be a conflict of interest but they have shown they are so desperate that they would stoop so low to actually try and bend ethics and morality. Would never ever use this company!!

TrustpilotUninterested
As a property management company, Bridgfords provides an pretty poor service overall. In fairness, my experience is based on only having one property manager for the Schoolhouse in Manchester - Rebecca. More often than not (including in pre-pandemic times), chasing for a response is necessary. There is a lack of interest in important concerns at the property. The overall impression is that more time and energy is spent on higher value rentals, which are deemed to be more worthy of the time. I guess it's not the work which brings in the commission...

TrustpilotAvoid at all costs
Selling a property in York following the death of my mother. Bridgfords were a very slick sell to my sister but the reality was far different. House was hugely overvalued and as a result the 'great deal' fixed fee we agreed to was higher in the end than the normal percentage fee would have been on the selling price eventually achieved. This may seem a bit minor but the difference was £59K on a £211k sale so nearly 28%. The agent dealing with the sale and who did the initial valuation just disappeared and we got no explanation from the branch. The branch manager then visited and revalued the house to £220K admitting it was way overpriced. This was always going to be a project house for someone but my sister and I are not property experts so we took him at his word. Papers left in the house went missing (whilst Bridgfords had keys and were doing viewings) resulting in some additional costs to us and the house was taken off sale without our approval due to their delay in arranging an EPC. In addition invasive surveys were made without our approval - holes in the walls, ceilings and floors!!We did sell in the end and complained to Bridgfords about the process and costs but they refuse to accept any responsibility and as my sister and I want this done rather than dragging on we decided to move on. We didn't pay the bill at first as we were in dispute but having had the brush off denial response I have now agreed to pay in full as we want the matter closed - ironically I have now called three times and have been unable to pay them the money..... They are at best incompetent but I take the view that their conduct is intentional.

TrustpilotBridgfords York
Bridgfords YorkIt’s an important decision to take when you decide to rent or buy a new home. Lots of money is involved, expert and thoughtful assistance is a necessary part of the process. That is what agents are for. You’ll have plenty of choice, so avoid this bunch like the Covid virus. There is a lady, Victoria North, who is so far ahead of the rest of the bunch that she would be an asset to any agency, a real professional who deserves to be singled out for praise, and young Kristian is a man who is far too good to be working there. The rest, at least those that I encountered are hardly worth commenting on, save to say that problems invariably begin at the top and the Manager is Pia Mason. The problems simply mirror those that the other posters here refer to. As I say you have plenty of choice, take your time, I have been both landlord and tenant in UK and abroad, you’ll work hard to find a less concerned and less efficient bunch than this no matter which side of the business you are on.

Bridgfords Chorlton provided fantastic service from start to finish. John and Muneer were always on the end of the phone and email. Response to any queries was always dealt with promptly and efficiently. More importantly was the way they managed things when our dad sadly died during the sale process. They were caring and compassionate and still continued to support us through to a successful sale. We really cannot thank them enough.

TrustpilotAVOID AVOID AVOID
Myself and my partner had the displeasure of renting from Bridgfords for a year. Needless to say it was one of the WORST years of my life. We’d never rented before and had no idea what we were doing, they knew that and took advantage. We were shown a shoe cupboard of an apartment, the rent was around £350-£400 a month for one bedroom apartment with the kitchen and living room being one big open space. At first it seemed great. Finally living alone (we later found out we were paying the same rent as the rest of the building who’s apartments were 3x the size of ours and had someone who came to check the place out from Bridgfords even POINT OUR HOW SMALL OUR APARTMENT WAS COMPARED TO OUR NEIGHBORS!!!). No pets allowed was annoying as we had two small cats but we knew the couple who lived across from us (they moved out not long after we did because of similar issues) and they had a cat... along with half the building... so we didn’t worry or care. Everything was fine until the first inspection of the apartment, I’d stayed awake all night before the viewing to clean (as we’d never done that before so I wanted to make sure it was clean) I fell asleep on the couch at around 8/9am to be woken up by a small blond woman in my apartment (the door was locked..) so I was obviously surprised and confused, the woman gave me attitude claiming she knocked and rang the buzzer. The buzzer is so loud you’d hear it during a hurricane, I immediately knew that was a lie and The walls were paper thin so if she knocked I’d have heard as would the entire building, once done she went to other apartments and knocked.. when no one answered she walked away, didn’t let herself in like she did with us... That was bad enough. Then she took MY KEYS with her and when I ran downstairs and across the car park to ask her if she had my keys she said “no” as I saw them sat on her passenger seat.. I had to go out so I was panicking in a rush because those were the only set of keys we had. I started walking back to the building angry to have her call me back and say “I’ve got them” yes. I know. That was bad enough and already gave me anxiety about anyone and everyone letting themselves into my apartment without my permission or me even being there! Then we asked to move into the apartment downstairs as the previous tenant had just moved. We were given the ok. Great right? Would have been if they didn’t tell us we could move in at the end of the month to them ring/email and asked “can we move now” and have them ignore us until mid way through the month and say “end of this month” this went on for 2 months. 2 months of packing and unpacking all of our belongings in a tiny apartment just so we had clothes to wear. Then Joel began harassing me over the phone/emails, demanding we let people come into our apartment to look around (the apartment we wanted was empty for 3 months but they refused to let us move) so I said no as the apartment was a tip and I would be home alone when they came, I suffer from severe depression and anxiety so you can imagine the amount of stress and worry I felt not only when I would see an email from him or his number ringing my phone. At first he took the no as a no and said okay but the amount of times he’d email/ring about viewings increased as they continued to ignore our requests to move into the bigger apartment. Then one day I got a phone call from Joel, I answer and had him yell at me down the phone for 5 minutes (it felt like an eternity) for not letting people view the apartment, ignoring that they refuse to let us move downstairs and THEN they can show whoever the hell they want. I felt like a child being scolded for drawing on the walls.. I’m 22.. so when he hung up I informed my mum and dad (they worked across the road from Bridgfords) so my mum for obvious reasons was not happy, they both almost ran across the road to see him and when they called him out for how he treat me he went bright red and fumbled over his words.. he has the nerve to act big and tough over the phone but if you confront him in person? Coward. Absolute coward. Fast forward to moving into Apartment 1 (when we moved the landlord put the rent up for the entire building to £450 and added an extra £100 on to the deposit.. it’s too convenient to be a coincidence) and almost immediately we were getting complains about covering out windows... we got complaints because nosey people didn’t like that we covered the windows...(some of the people in that building were just as pathetic and childish as Bridgfords) then when we sorted that complaint we got a letter telling us to leave because we have cats and you’re not allowed pets. They sent us an email with a PICTURE OF OUR CATS IN THE PREVIOUS APARTMENTS WINDOW. So they KNEW we had the cats from the start and still let us move in downstairs... that’s extremely snakey behaviour, any excuse for more money. So skip ahead to moving day and our previous apartment had been rented out to a young woman who smoked WEED IN THE APARTMENT WITH THE WINDOWS OPEN WITH HER FRIENDS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. You’re not allowed to smoke in there.. never mind doing ILLEGAL DRUGS. So that told us plenty. Then skip ahead again to today (November) we’ve been away from those soul eaters for a few months and I got an email asking for the deposit because of “unpaid rent” we’d had this back and forth about rent for months now, me sending them bank statements of rent being sent on the right days to them ignoring us and coming back a month or so later to try again, I was sent an email today with an attachment of “evidence” as to why they want over £1000 from us... it’s a word document. SOMEONE HAD OPENED A NEW WORD DOCUMENT AND TYPED UP “date-date: unpaid” etc. This is not evidence. This is not proof. Anyone can write a word document, I’ve sent verified bank statements with the date/time sent, amount sent, who it’s sent to and the reference number. They won’t take that as proof but expect me to take a word document as solid evidence that they are entitled to over £1000 from us... they are truly pathetic. Joel is a bully, Alex is manipulative and they condone harassment and targeting. DO NOT TRUST THEM. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU. We now live in a 2 bedroom house for the same rent as a 1 bedroom apartment where you’ll get people complaining that they can’t be nosey. Since we have been here we haven’t been harassed, haven’t had people starring at us through the window, no one has just let themselves into our home. We have never been happier. I 10000% recommend Dawson Estate, when I told Matt how we’d been treated by Bridgfords he was disgusting and confused at there unprofessional behaviour and went out of his way to insure we are fully aware of what’s going on and replies to any questions I have almost immediately. Avoid Bridgfords!!! Get in touch with Dawson Estate!!! They’ll treat you right and respect you not harass and target you!!!The Bridgfords I had the displeasure of dealing with was in Halifax but after looking through over reviews it looks like it’s not just the Halifax branch that needs a reality check and a customer service training course...

TrustpilotBridgfords- Buxton
My husband and I have bought and sold quite a few properties over the years and this is the first time I have felt impressed enough to write a review. Choosing an estate agent can be tricky and choosing someone you can trust with possibly one of the biggest financial transactions during a lifetime can be quite scary. Thankfully, a recent experience of purchasing a property in the Buxton area has helped change my view of estate agents and their skill sets.I would like to make a special mention of the team that work at the Buxton office of Bridgfords. John Sweeton and Judy Scouler lead a great team and Judy in particular made the recent process of finding and securing a suitable property for my family a really positive experience. Judy was helpful, perpetually positive and demonstrated a superb set of communication skills when delicate negotiations were needed. Her ability to maintain a professional service despite any hurdles she came across was commendable. I like to think that both the seller and I (the buyer) left the purchasing process feeling like we had both gained what we needed to and a bit more. So, well done Judy.I would recommend this particular team as they communicate with you in a timely manner; they keep you updated when necessary and answer all the questions you have as quickly as possible. I would certainly use them again.

TrustpilotCancelled 2 Hours Before - Didn't Tell me!
I had a viewing booked in Leeds with Bridgfords today, I went to the property 5 minutes early and rang them to let them know I had arrived and asked who I was expecting to meet. A rude man answered the phone and told me my viewing was cancelled and they had text me to let me know. I informed the man I hadn't received a text of cancellation and he insisted I had, I asked him to check the number and the number he gave me didn't have enough digits. Clearly Bridgfords is hiring the brightest bulbs, how long have mobile numbers had the same number of digits for now? Not only did I book time off work to come to view this property but no one thought to double check the number when sending a cancellation text (Which was only 2 hours before the viewing was meant to be anyway). Not to mention the agent didn't even have the keys to the property! Imagine advertising a property and taking viewings with no keys!! Worst "Estate Agents" I've ever dealt with, and will be boycotting all properties through these agents in future.#WasteHisTime2019
