GoogleI have been using John Curtis lettings, to manage my properties for the last nine years. I have found them very professional, both toward myself and our tenants. Susan and the team have always found good quality tenants and managed the lettings with little input from me.

GoogleWhen we came to sell our house, Hamptons proven track record of sales in and around Harpenden, and its comprehensive in-house team led us to choose them over multiple other local Estate Agents. Compared to competitors, Hamptons valuation appeared to us to be fair and sensible. Hamptons confidence in its ability to effectively market and sell was based on its list of registered clients looking for a house like ours, and was reflected in the commission fee proposed that was the lowest of all offers. The house was sold at the asking price on the first day of viewings and we were supported throughout the rest of the sales process by the Hamptons team. Thoroughly recommended.PositiveProfessionalism

GoogleWe sold via JC/Hamptons in January having instructed prior to lockdown the previous year. They were incredibly professional and responsive and sourced the buyers themselves rather than waiting for buyers to contact them. Special mention must go to Gabe and Ellie for their hard work. House buying/selling can be an emotional process so I can understand some of the negative comments elsewhere but struggle to believe that any issues would have been created by this team.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

GoogleThey did well initially providing an accurate valuation but the agents showing our home were uninspiring and unfamiliar with our property. Later in the process as we neared exchange they were in responsive to us and other agents in the chain. It was left to me to negotiate directly with our buyers for completion dates. They were quick with the invoice mins. I would not recommend them to purchasers or sellers.

GoogleIt can be difficult to decide which agent to put your faith in for buying and selling. I met with a few local agents, Richard Goss really stood out. It was clear that he is a man of high integrity, has vast experience of the local market offering spot-on advice on price point and strategy, is incredibly professional and passionate about what he does. But what struck me most is he said to me “we match people to houses” and as I sit in my new home he was right. It couldn’t be a better match. So if you are looking for an agent I would suggest you look no further and put your faith in Richard Goss.

GoogleWe genuinely could not have bought our new home without the hard work of all the staff at John Curtis. They not only helped us through with the mortgage but their advice saved us a lot of money and future worries. They also worked above and beyond with the developers to ensure that we could have our new home and for that we will be forever grateful. GoogleWhen buying a property where John Curtis act as agent you receive only a portion of the information that implies a picture that isn’t true. I was told our sellers had been ready to exchange for weeks, they were not. The agent then had the gall to tell me the statement was made “in good faith” and they were ready “apart from one technicality”, still they weren’t ready but it had put us as buyer’s under undue stress to rush more than necessary.

GoogleI have recently completed the sale of my flat in Harpenden and was most impressed with the service provided by the team at John Curtis. Once they had found a buyer they kept me informed of the progress throughout the transaction and responded quickly to my emails and requests for information. Most importantly they did a fine job liaising with the purchaser and both sets of solicitors to ensure that the transaction went through quickly. A word of praise is also due to the letting team who found a new tenant for the purchaser and managed this process most efficiently. An excellent company to do business with !!!!
