The whole process has been made much smoother with the team, and the level of support throughout really made a difference. Dan has been incredible, always professional, easy to reach, and consistently keeping me informed every step of the way. Dan genuinely had our best interests at heart, which gave us a lot of confidence during what can be a stressful process. A special mention as well to Claire, who has been so helpful and communicative throughout. Her support and regular check-ins made the whole experience feel much more personal. Great service from Oliver and team, in particular a huge shout out to Claire Turner, if you are looking to buy or sell I highly recommend speaking with Claire, Claire handled my property sale with the upmost care, attention and out of the world client service, Claire worked perfectly as a bridge between me and the buyers keeping us all updated on progress. The sale was a little tricky at times but Claire was able to navigate me and the buyers through any blocker that came up and made the process less stressful and more manageable, thank you so much for your support Claire!! I would highly recommend Claire to anyone looking to purchase or sell, by far some of the best client service I have ever had!

Fortune and Coates have been exemplary from start to finish. Oliver and Matt were very good in marketing the house and the getting that all important offer in. Once offer was accepted, Claire has been coordinating with all parties and has done a fantastic job considering we have had tight timescales from our new build. I worked with Fortune and Coates during my purchase as a first time buyer. Claire was absolutely excellent and looked after me every step of the way. Nothing was too much trouble for her, She would return my calls straight away, reply to emails, do all of the back and forth for me. After struggling to sell for a few months, they were recommended to me and Matt was so accommodating to work around my tenants and keeping me informed. From the moment the team at Fortune & Coates came to our home for the contract signing, we knew we had chosen the right estate agent to sell our house. The photographs were taken professionally and really showcased the property beautifully. As I work from home, we appreciated that viewings were arranged in organised groups, which helped minimise disruption. We received offers very quickly, and from that point, we were allocated Claire as our sales conductor. Claire was absolutely fantastic, highly professional, proactive, and always in touch. She kept us informed at every stage, regularly calling to update us and chasing the buyer, our solicitor, and even the buyer’s solicitor whenever needed. Her excellent communication made the whole process much less stressful and gave us real peace of mind. Overall, the experience was smooth, efficient, and far less stressful than we expected. If you’re thinking of selling your home, we would absolutely recommend Fortune & Coates.

I am highly disappointed in the service from Fortune & Coates. It's run by 2 young lads who know how to sell their business and are very good at talking the talk. They want to give your listing the wow factor but need more due diligence, timely responses, the ability to follow things through and the personal touch you need from your agent. I felt I was always chasing them for answers. Emails were ignored, no feedback was given on how things were progressing unless I chased them, and prospective buyers were not chased up when they cancelled house viewing due to work commitments and sending staff around with a client to view my property where the member of staff hadn’t even been into the property before and no email confirmation /trail about people they were sending around. In the end, I lost faith in them and felt they were not working for me, so I terminated the contract, waited for the 2 weeks required, and then went to an established agent in the village where I lived. This was when the big problems started. Apparently, Fortune & Coates showed a lady around months before I moved agents. (I don’t have any confirmation of anyone who came to my house to give to the new agents) and this lady, after having to pull out of another local property she was buying, decided to have a second look at my house. Unknown to me or my new agents, she had quickly looked at the house before and initially decided it wasn’t for her. Then, she went on to purchase another home for sale in my village. The second time she looked, she decided to buy. Several weeks after I accepted the offer from the lady and things were well underway with Estate agents/solicitors, I got a call from Fortune and Coates telling me the lady buying my house was their sale, and they must take it over as she had viewed with them several weeks earlier. I don’t have any correspondence, calls, or emails to confirm this and had never heard of this lady, so I spoke to my new agents, who were now over 6 weeks into my sale, and they know nothing either. The lady has not mentioned any other agents. Fortune & Coates then decided to call repeatedly and got aggressive regarding this sale, telling me they had to take it over as it was their commission; at this point, it was getting so upsetting and getting more aggressive that I had to step away and let my partner deal with them. They also kept ringing my new agents in the same manner. Ultimately, I did not feel safe or happy to return and use them for my sale, and I let the agents sort it out between themselves as it wasn’t my issue, so I remained working with my fantastic new agents. Note. You say you have tried to call me regarding the review??? I’ve had no missed calls! You knew how intermediated I felt by your phone calls and my partner told you on several occasions to stop calling me as you you were upsetting me with your manner I have no clarification whatsoever as to who you showed round the house during the time you were marketing it. Nothing linking this lady whatsoever! Nothing was ever sent over to me and nothing was sent over to the new agents about any previous people that looked at the house which is meant to be the protocol when you terminate a contract so in this instance you can’t follow protocol if you don’t have the tools to do so. I have nothing more to say. This is my personal review of the service I got.

From now on, when I think of great service, I’ll think of the team at Fortune & Coates. I wanted to move quickly, and they didn’t just find a buyer - they found someone who loved the property as much as I did when I first moved in. Within a couple of weeks, I had multiple viewings and two offers. There were a few setbacks (unrelated to Fortune & Coates) during the sale process, but Sara was dedicated in keeping both me and the buyer informed and supported throughout. If you’re buying or selling in Harlow or surrounding areas, I can’t recommend them enough - they won’t let you down!
