STAY AWAY AND DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY. I lived in a room in one of their shared houses, and the room was provided partly furbished. After my tenancy contract ended, I hired professional furniture remover to remove all my furniture, leaving behind the furniture that belongs to this agency. However, this agency sent me an email accusing me of having 'belongings not removed' and wanted to deduct my deposit from me, with wordings 'There will be a deduction for following - Belongings were not removed' and pictures timestamped. Such 'belongings' all belong to this agency, of course, which includes a WIFI router that controls the internet network in the house that there's no way that it would belong to me, plus painting equipment that apparently belongs to a paint contractor. One more thing to mention, after my tenancy contract has ended with keys handed back to them, they still sent me an email asking me for rent payment, which shows a blatant lack of internal communication on their regard. All these actions reflect an absolute unprofessionalism and I highly recommend anyone who comes across to refrain from working with this agency. EDIT: After posting this review, the agency contacted me multiple times through email, claiming that there was 'a misunderstanding', that they 'made a mistake' but 'never intended to deduct any deposit'; whereas, 100% intention is clearly shown in their wordings in their first email 'There will be a deduction for following - Belongings were not removed' and timestamped pictures. I believe their attitude simply speaks for itself.

Hi, Our standard procedure after key return is to share our initial findings with tenants and allow them to respond or clarify. This was the same in your case. Before any conclusions were reached, and before you engaged with us to discuss the findings, your review was posted. We feel this does not fully reflect the actual process or communication. Our team clearly mentioned in email that they would clarify with the check-out team and would revert to you. Nothing was finalised or deducted, and we are duty-bound to raise any queries with tenants before making decisions. We also reached out afterwards because we genuinely value our tenants and did not want you to leave with a negative experience. This should not be misinterpreted as a shortcoming or vulnerability, but rather as our commitment to communication/fairness and as a reflection of our tenant-focused approach. Ultimately, your deposit was returned in full. We hope this helps clarify how the process was handled.

I've had a very positive experience with Neptune Homes. I was their tenant for the past 9 years. They were responsive and professional, especially Ash, who was always trying to help, if I had any issues. The end of tenancy process also went very smooth. Thank you to the whole team and wish you all the best!

The staff I met and interacted with during my tenancy agreement, especially Ash, were very nice and responsive since day one. The place was new and there were a couple of situations that needed to be addressed and Ash tried to keep us on the loop and sort them asap. Even when I left and they were trying to organise visits with prospective tenants, they were quite professional and respectful of my space and personal hours, which I truly appreciated!

Neptunes homes have been one of the best estate agents I’ve come across, reason because I had an unfortunate incident in my flat where part of ceiling dropped on my work station and it damaged my very expensive computer screen and they sorted a replacement from the landlord within 5 days as it wasn’t my fault. I would like to thank Marek,Ashvin,Sai,Ray and especially the landlord FRANK! Much appreciated guys.10/10

I would like to thank Marek for assisting me during the searching process and to Thabir for resolving a particular situation in a fair and promptly manner. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU IDENTIFY AS GAY BECAUSE THEY WILL DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU. I went to view a property today in Milton Keynes. The property was ‘Five Acres’ and was advertised as a coliving unit for young couples and young professionals. I called to book a viewing and managed to secure a viewing at 18:45. The estate agent told me he had broken down and re-arranged the viewing for 19:15. I arrived at 19:00 and had to call him at 19:15 to find out he was showing potential occupants around the property already, despite telling me he had to reschedule due to car problems. When he eventually came to collect me from the front gates at 19:25 in a t-shirt and jeans, he didnt apologise for letting me wait. After showing me the communal areas, which I liked, the damning blow came. The estate agent told me, if I was a gay man, this property would not be available to me as the comapny would not allow homosexual couples at the property. This is discrimination at its finest. I was completely taken aback and had to clarify that what he said was right. “You are not welcome here if you are…that way” … this resulted in me showing myself out. I had driven 2.5h to view this property and left feeling completely let down and angry. Neptune homes, explain yourself before I go to the media with this story.

Jack · 26 August 2025

Agent replied · 8 October 2025

Hi, Following your review, we have been engaging with you directly by email since your visit, where you also raised your complaint. As explained, our caretaker was running late on the day and moved viewings in the order they were originally booked. Neptune Homes is committed to providing housing services in full compliance with the Equality Act 2010, the Housing Act 2004, and all licensing regulations. We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind and welcome tenants of all backgrounds across our portfolio. This property is licensed under Milton Keynes Council’s HMO regulations, which only permit either a single occupant or one couple forming a household. It cannot legally be rented to two unrelated sharers, and the caretaker’s comments were made solely in that context. We have noted that the descriptions you provided in your review and subsequent emails vary significantly, which makes it difficult to establish a consistent version of events. As we have said to you directly, if you do hold any evidence such as a recording, we ask that you share it so it can be reviewed. For clarity, sexual orientation is never a factor in our lettings process. Under the HMO licence, each unit may only be occupied by a single person or by one couple forming a household. Where an application is made, we may ask whether it is for single occupancy or for a couple, but this is solely to evidence compliance with licensing rules and has no connection to a tenant’s sexual orientation. As per our offer, should you still be interested in the property, we would be happy to proceed with your application, subject to the standard referencing and application process applicable to all prospective tenants. Neptune Homes remains committed to fairness, transparency, and equal treatment for all applicants

Strongly recommending their agency. Renting with Neptune Homes for 4 years. We have left them due to buying our own home. During this period they were helpful, responsive to our emails, resolve the issues quickly, if something was broken in the house (e.g. washing machine, oven). They have excellent communication too, informed us in advance of visitor appointments (e.g. safety engineer visit). Also, we have received our deposit in full amount. Their staff were very kind, especially Ray, Ashvin, Marek and Mala. Thank you to be your tenants for these years, all the best!

Big scam ! Paid deposit and completed all paper works and in the day that I had to meet landlord (because they wanted to meet us) without no reason all has been cancelled! Agent told me that landlord don’t want to rent anymore flat ! Was so hard to get my 5 weeks deposits back !!!! The worst agency ever ! They just want to lie to you promising renting and in the last minute they cancelling without reason !!!!!

Dear Malgortaza, You paid 5 weeks deposit instead of 1 week deposit as mentioned in our move in statement, As soon as we discovered your error we got in touch with you, collected your bank details and returned your extra deposit within 2 days. Landlord had some scepticism in the reference provided hence they pulled out; this rarely happens but it does happens 1 in 50 cases.

Be careful with this agency! Stay away ! I have been renting a studio flat for about 3 years, SCAMMERS !!!! Not getting any of my questions answered, taking 3-4 weeks to reply, asking to pay money without showing the bills. Unbelievable weird service , they just going to speak whatever they want to say, will ignore all your emails. Communication is awful, after you sign the contract- they don’t care, will blame you for everything. Horrible estate agency, very disappointing experience. All they say is bulllshit ! They don’t listen! Landlord never came to meet and discuss the problems. Completely scam ! SCAM Agency !!!!! Be careful!!!

Monika · 24 September 2024

Agent replied · 24 October 2024

Dear Monika, just replying to your comments above, your flat had its own meter and you were billed according to your electric usage. You only used to pay after full usage breakdown were presented to you. This has always been the case since you moved in. We even offered to arrange for you to meet your landlord and discuss your bills. You never did. You left the property with rental arrears and unpaid electric bill. It is not fair to say " they dont care" as your length of tenancy about 3 years you wouldn't stay at the property if it was the case. You disputed the deposit deduction to cover the rental arrears and unpaid bill. The matter was decided by adjudication and your landlord was awarded full deposit. I think this clarifies the whole situation. Wishing you all the best!

I lived in a Neptune managed apartment for a period of one year and within this one year, I must say this team was awesome. Whenever a corrective maintenance issue was raised, not only will they get a qualified person to get the job done but also confirm from me whether the job has been done properly and to my satisfaction and they are willing to reopen closed cases if I’m not entirely satisfied. The team can be relied upon when emergencies occur as I remember having an issue with my boiler and this was resolved the same day. I didn’t have to ask for my deposit after I moved out of the apartment, unlike some other agencies and landlord, I was paid promptly. I recommend Neptune homes.

I have been renting through Neptune for almost 15 years. When I needed a new fridge or washing machine, sadly the ones I had stopped working due to age, I got those prompty. They were also happy to give me extra time to pay my rent when I had to stay in the hospital. Anytime something needed checking, the plumber arrived promptly depending on the urgency. The boiler and gas get checked annually so I don't need to worry and they have always respected my privacy and have been friendly and fair on the rent too. What I appreciate the most is that at the very beginning when some other agents were not that keen on renting to single parents, even to those with a full time job, Neptune assisted in communication with the landlord and this resulted in my so far 15 years stay in the flat I love.

I lived at a flat I rented by Neptune Homes for just over a year and will happily say it was the worst lettings agent experience I have had in my life. After a member of Neptune staff took away the router without prior warning the day before I had an online interview I spent over 4 months without the adequate WiFi that I was pays for as part of my bills inclusive package and as far as I can tell no effort was put in to restore this. I have just moved into a new place and set up my own WiFi and it took 4 days from ordering the router online to set it up - that fact that I can do this with no experience but a lettings agent who I was literally paying to do so can't do it in 4 months is ridiculous. During this time I was told "Why don't you pay for it yourself" by Neptune staff despite the fact I was already paying them. It also took months to install a bathroom cabinet that was promised to me the day I moved in, during which Neptune staff tried to gaslight me into thinking I shouldn't have the cabinet that was promised to me. If you do have the misfortune of renting from this agency ask not to be put with Ashvin Ramhit, who is not only an incompetent lettings agent, but one of the most unempathetic, sadistic people I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. In response to Neptune Homes’ response to this review: First of all, I never asked for a cabinet in my move in day. This is a straight up lie and I am surprised that you would publicly make such a statement. The cabinet was offered to me without me even mentioning it, I never even brought it up until it was offered to me. If “straight away” means around 3 months, then that should tell everyone reading this all they need to know about your business. You have also lied saying that there was always internet in the property. If you have taken away my router and not given me access to any other internet, then that is not “always”, there was a considerable period of time where I had no internet access at all. All of my devices are extremely modern and up to date, and work on literally every other internet provider I’ve ever connected to, so I would rather you don’t try to shift the blame to my devices. I have sent plenty of screenshots of the internet connectivity in my room, which averaged at around 0 to 3.2 Mbps. From what I could tell this connection was being shared by around 11 people. The recommended speed for a single person streaming a video in standard definition is 10 Mbps. If you look online a family of 6 with 10 devices would need 100 Mbps to do standard activities, so having a connection of around 3.2 from within my room was unacceptable. So yes, after finally being given the passwords for the upstairs flat I did technically “have wifi”, but only enough to at most send an email, and certainly no enough for even 1 person, let alone a family of 6 or the minimum of 11 people that I estimate were sharing this service. An individual from a flat down the hall claimed to me that he reported the internet issue multiple times, and that he also couldn’t adequately connect to his Wi-Fi from his room. He was constantly having to stand in the hallway area in order to try and get at least a morsal of connection. I declined BT’s offer of help because I would have needed to take time off work to fit into their schedule and did not want to lose any more money to an issue that was quite simply not my fault and the fault of Neptune Homes. It is also worth noting that in your own words “this property is not licensed for families or kids”, so I am not sure why you are trying to shame me for wanting to unblock filtered content. My review is not of malicious intent, it is quite the opposite. The purpose of my review is to help save renters from a year of hassle by sharing my experience with your agency, which I personally think is quite noble intent. The “malicious” quote you have given is out of context and removed the most important phrase. This was in response to you threatening to investigate a fellow tenant of mine for your own malicious intent.

Max · 29 December 2023

Agent replied · 24 October 2024

Dear Max, Whenever a review is posted, we investigate it and reply. We have interacted with you last few days in email where it is evident that your review is with worst malicious intention and this will be reported. There was always internet the property which you shared with few other tenants. No one else ever reported any issue with internet besides yourself. This is a shared facility and you asked to unblock to internet to access sites with filtered contents. Secondly, it was only your devices which couldn’t be connected to internet and we spoke to BT whereby the engineer offered help to investigate this on your behalf which you declined. We have email from you post your check out where you wrote “I made up the thing about xxxx for dramatic effect. There is no need to investigate this as I was trying to evoke an emotional response”. This is clearly evidence of your malicious intention. Bathroom cabinet: You asked for cabinet on your move in day. This wasn’t agreed prior to move in hence we needed to get authorisation from your landlord before proceeding. Nevertheless, as soon as this was authorised by your landlord, it was installed straight away. We will be report this malicious act of yours. Wish you all the best. Dear Max, just replying to your reply posted above. Sadly your last few emails sent to us after we replied your review and your email confessing you made up things... we will not dwell into each of your comments. Your intent is malicious, no one in the building has ever reported any such issues. Internet was for shared service, hence your request for unblocking filtered content was not available. This is sole reason why your devices were not connecting. BT engineer was only going to speak to you over the phone, NO LOSS OF WORK. He was only trying to help you not taking up all day. At this stage, we would only wish you all the best and quite unfortunate that you are providing false facts or such allegations yet again to evoke emotional response!

We have been renting a property from Neptune Homes for over 10 years and never had any issues with the agency or its staff. Throughout the years, we have been dealing with Mala, Marek and Ash, who have all been extremely friendly and helpful. They have always been responsive to our needs and have provided excellent service. Over that time, we have had numerous repairs carried out in our flat, such as roof or pipe repairs. We have also had many appliances replaced, such as the boiler, washing machines (which broke on us at least 5 times over that period), fridge, and many more. Once again, all these were carried out without any fuss. The agency also carries out a yearly safety checks on the gas and electric, so you can stay assured - we actually had our electrical fuse box replaced recently. We report any issues by emailing the agency, that way it's all recorded and can be easily tracked and referenced if needed. I am actually quite surprised that some people had bad experiences (by reading a few of the past reviews) with communication issues, as we have always been responded to within a reasonable time and had things done with no issues. We are happy with the agency and speaking from our experience, we highly recommend Neptune Homes to anyone looking for a reliable and professional property agency.

Having lived in a property (46a Abbotsford Avenue) for over 3 years with Neptune Homes, I'd be keen to write a positive review about this estate agent; however their tendency to arbitrarily impose fictitious fees (ie. £50 admin fee for moving out and a £100 deposit deduction for a sofa that never existed in the flat) makes me consider them only as complete money-grabbers. Although they renovated our kitchen and bathroom (fairly well but with the odd misaligned corner etc) they tended to employ unorganised staff who spoke little english and didn't have a place to park, relying on me to buy visitor permits.Predictably a rent increase was proposed immediately after these hasty renovations took place. It should also be noted our garden was ruined by a contractor who unearthed a pipe which released some kind of toxic waste over the lawn, killing all the plants. We emailed the agency on a weekly basis for around 8 months before they bothered to rectify the issue. To any prospective tenants of this property I would also like to point out a leak in the roof of the bedroom at the top of the stairs that was poorly fixed twice so may be on its way to a major structural issue. I would neither recommend this estate agent to tenant nor landlord as they provide a highly compromised service that prioritises themselves over both the tenant and the property. AVOID. Edit: If you would like confirmation of the childish, finger-pointing tone and strategies this estate agent use, simply read their (hilarious) response below. Please notice their complete lack of responsibility taken of any of the (if I must emphasise) very real problems that compromised 46a Abbotsford Avenue. For further context I posted this review after they took the £100 for the non-existent sofa and starting yelling at me down the phone. The garden was in great condition before being ruined and photos can be provided for all landlords or tenants who are interested. I could go on about further problems and unpleasant interactions we had but I'm sure for those of you who have read this far you get the picture. Ultimately the main benefit of living with this estate agent was that the rent was cheap, albeit for a small room. As a musician coming out of the pandemic; living here was a necessity for me in order to maintain my career. However this far from excuses the neglect we received during our tenancy. Ultimately, disrepair cannot be justified for a property where the joint contract came to around £1700/month.

Alexander · 25 October 2023

Agent replied · 24 October 2024

Dear Alexander, It is unfortunate that after a long term tenancy with us, you opt this route which I will take some time to shed more light as you seem to have omitted lots of information. All charges to tenants till dates have been clear and explained. We have various emails to clear this. Just to clarify.. as you are oblivious it is not admin fee for moving out. There were internal swaps in tenancies. Secondly, you chose to state false information for deposit deduction… you left the property and didn’t clear your belongings. The deposit deduction of £100.00 was to cover the removal of belongings. You are well aware of this as you were emailed all details few times with full explanation which you NEVER refuted this.. PLAYING VICTIM ON FALSE INFORMATION. You stayed at the property for almost 3 years. But when you leave, you think it is ok to dump your unwanted belongings behind as obviously it is not your property.. so why care! At this stage, one would question credibility after reading your disgraceful comment on the contractor. The tenants continuously used him as and when you needed his help without even contacting the agency, he was been contacted directly to arrange access and work anytime with him. He would come to your help any time you called him without notice or regardless of the time. Now after almost 3 years you are commenting on his “little English”. So your fact gone wrong again.. we won’t exert on this as this is not our working nature. Also just word of advice, respect is gained through respect to others. Visitors permits were only requested through you as the Council wouldn’t provide visitor’s permits to anyone else except the Council tax account holder. This is quite shameful to complain about something of this nature now when you happily agreed with the contractor to make the arrangement at the time! Rent increase is landlord’s right! This was discussed and agreed by all tenants. Again this was never a concern at the time!!!! Garden matter: WHAT YOU CRUCIALLY OMIT HERE IS THAT YOU NEVER MAINTAINED THE GARDEN EVER! The drain was blocked, it was cleared and the contractor left one pipe in the garden which was in one corner. This didn’t make the whole garden unusable. You can’t use this as excuse for landlord to clear the whole garden for you which was YOUR responsibility. QUITE SLY HERE!!!! The 8 months which you are referring to obviously as we have noticed from start, you again omitted the correct information. Your landlord was looking into possibilities to pave the garden for YOUR convenience. We have emails to prove you were well informed that it was not anything immediate and was only an option from the landlord which he was thinking about, he wasn’t obliged to and you still had to continue maintaining the garden.. which you never did! Roof leak… last repair was in Oct 2020 NO FURTHER COMPLAIN FROM YOU ON THIS TILL DATE. It has been more than 2.5 years …. You happily lived in the property and enjoyed every single amenity till date without complaining. Your last comment of avoiding us… it very contradictory as you happily stayed in the property for nearly 3 years. If you had problems, there has been so many internal swaps at the property which we always assisted you with. YOUR TENANCY WAS ALMOST 3 YEARS!!!! Before we sum this up… it is easy to think of name and shame but it would be more commendable if one has so much audacity to tell the truth as well. YOU COMPLETELY MISSED THAT WE DIDN’T CHARGE YOU FOR THE 2 DAYS RENT WHICH YOU WERE DUE TO PAY WHEN YOU MOVED OUT!!! We had a good relationship with all tenants during all the swaps at the property since the beginning. This was based on good communication and mutual respect. You resorted to this act after moving out which is entirely your choice. We wish you all the very best in all your future endeavours!

Tried to arrange a viewing with this agency. Repeatedly asserted that I could only do virtual viewings as I am not currently based in London. I was told this was fine and a virtual viewing was possible. On the day and hour of the viewing, I send a reminder that the viewing was meant to be virtual, as I've received no communications. I received a blunt reply with no apology telling me that they don't do virtual viewings. In that case, the employee responsible for taking bookings blatantly lied to me. Utter waste of my time. I've since read all the bad reviews here and noted that I may have dodged a bullet by not renting with this agency. It's not very good business practice to respond to poor reviews by insulting people or saying the person is lying.

Dear Freya, we are very surprised with your review posted. We tried contacting you post your review, you initially answered the phone and when my colleague mentioned he is calling from Neptune Homes, you hung up and thereafter rejected the calls. We have listened to your call made on the 27/07/2023 and very unfortunate that as per your comment " repeatedly asserted" which is non-factual, you didn’t mention virtual viewing at all or even any kind of arrangement for any viewing during the call. The only conversation you had during that call was “if the property was available”. Your call was attended by one of our external calls answering team and the lady who answered your call clearly mentioned to you she is not part of the letting team and was just taking your details and would pass on to the letting team to further contact you. Our professional external call handling team never book appointments with the customers. At this stage, we can only advise that you may be confusing with any other agency, you may have called on the day for other bookings. Additionally, just summing up, we never do virtual viewings, hence we can confirm your comments in your review is not for us. All the best!

Dear Paul, You have been renting with us since May 2022. You have reported 3 maintenances since your tenancy with us. We have updated you on action taken on the same day you reported any issue, and you were even sent job completion updates for each maintenance reported within less than a week. Your comment on “lack of communication is shocking” doesn’t validate the above. We have full record of whenever communication was made to you. You reported the blockage on 03/11/2023 after office hours, hence the team mentioned to you that there was no contractor available to attend immediately. However, they explained this to be resolved the next day. We don’t have option to upload the invoice here, but the work was completed by London Drains Direct on 04/11/2023 and invoice no is 17777 (if you need further validation). THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WITHIN LESS THAN 24 HRS. Also, just to add, you share the facilities with 2 other tenants. They co-operated on this matter as they understood on action taken. The same action was explained to you. I am sure you will agree that you wouldn’t have extended your tenancy with us few months ago if comments in your review was genuine. We all understand maintenance can arise anytime; we never deny repairs. But we do ask for co-operation from tenants, it makes it easier for all. Wishing you all the best. Team Neptune

Stayed in a flat in N15 managed by the team. Overall, my experience is quite positive. The team has always been professional and reasonable through my move-in, filing maintenance requests during my stay and moving out. The only downside though, I feel, is that the requests are not responded promptly enough. But the handymen sent from the team is able to efficiently solve the problem every time.

I have been a tenant with Neptune for over 2 years now. My overall experience with them has been extremely positive. All the team members are very professional, responsive, and available. I have always felt that I could count on them whenever necessary, and this has been confirmed whenever I had a need. I would sincerely advise anyone looking for accommodation to trust Neptune.
