Organised a viewing of a property with fishers, I turned up 5 minutes early for the viewing the agent turned up 20 minutes late. There was also some people who had a viewing the property 15 minutes after me. The agent arrived and told me to wait outside so that these people could view the property as it was their time to view. Even with that, I liked the property but needed to move in asap. I explained this to the agent who informed me that it may be possible to do this in 3 days but that they quote 5 days. Put in an application for the property the next morning. Waited 3 working days, didn't get any communication for Fishers so i called them. Turned out that there had been no communication with the landlord, basically the application had gone nowhere. Found a different property with a different estate agents. Got a call around 2 weeks after putting in the application with Fishers to tell me that they had just spoke with the landlord and they had rejected all applications because they didn't want sharers or kids (I don't have kids). Would have been nice to know that before putting in the application, luckily they told me this while i was sat in my new place :). 10 out of 10 would not bother with Fishers ever again

I would advise approaching this agency with caution if you are a tenant. Make sure you are very thorough with the inventories, as the entry inventories tend to be incredibly vague. They attempted to state that I was responsible for damage to the property which was there when I moved in. They also claimed that there were missing items when they were in different rooms, and claimed that parts of the house were 'filthy' when their own photographic evidence did not demonstrate that. I would recommend being very particular when you move in, photographing everything which is even slightly damaged (to the point where they tried to pick me up for a small chip on a wardrobe, about 1cm in circumference which was there when we moved in as the wardrobe was clearly very old) I would also recommend challenging any cleaning costs if you think that they are unfair - brush up on the legal guidance provided on the DPS website and check if they are following it properly. For example, if there is a non-itemised standard cleaning cost then this isn't generally considered to be acceptable. Brush up on 'reasonable wear and tear' vs damage. Request all of the evidence that you are entitled to: quotes, bills, invoices, pictures and reports. I challenged the cleaning cost and they reduced it significantly. Be very clear about what you feel is acceptable and why, as I found that when I was negotiating the deposit it was very difficult at times to get proper answers to my queries/concerns, I think about 200 emails ended up going back and forth, many of them were not very productive and didn’t directly address the issues. The contract stated that as a policy they do not use the Alternative Dispute Resolution process, which leaves you with significantly reduced bargaining ability unless you are willing to go to court. I made requests for maintenance throughout the tenancy, one was followed through (electrical issue) and one was completely ignored (garden issue), so I'd say that the response to maintenance concerns was patchy. Correspondence was again mixed, there was a member of staff in the office who has a very condescending phone manner, she kept calling me 'honey', but when I was negotiating the deposit the email correspondence was ok. There are a couple of charges nestled into the charge list on their website too - a renewal charge and a charge for a reference. The deposit is also a lot more than a month's rent. On a more positive note, it was very easy to move in and things moved along very quickly once we had put the deposit down on the house. There was a member of staff 'Mel' who was very pleasant when we moved in.

This estate agents is absolutely appalling. Despite many of their rental prices being more expensive than mortgages, they treat renters like second class citizens. I have never had to deal with a ruder set of people, particularly Mel and Linda who many of the renters will have to deal with. We rented a beautiful house and looked after it extremely well, hiring professional cleaners when we moved out and having many of the walls repainted so they looked like new. Despite this, and despite being told by Fishers that they wished all their tenants were as good as us, on many occasions we were met with extreme rudeness bordering on agression. Always check the inventory when you move in. Ours stated the house was in a perfect condition despite there being broken windows, a broken boiler, marks all over the doors (the list went on and on). We photographed this and sent copies to them and the landlord, but a year on they told us they'd lost it and therefore were going to charge us for every piece of damage in the house. We ended up having get the landlord to intervene. We were left with a collapsed roof for 6 months in one room of the house that they only fixed once we'd moved out and when we had one tenant move out and replaced with another we went for 3 months with no contract and no security until we threatened to move out with no notice. We also had a major gas leak in the house that went on for 2 months resulting in, on a number of occasions, having to evacuate the house and find alternative accomodation. We recieved no apologies from them, only patronising behaviour.

Highly recommend fishers letting agents. Family ran business feel and have gone above and beyond to help us with documentation we needed for our property. I have rented with fishers for a number of years snd they ensure their properties are well maintained and fairly priced.

I rented with Fishers and they were great from start to finish and, in particular, Lin Miles -who not only dealt with any issues promptly but was a thoroughly nice, trustworthy and professional person. If you are thinking of renting, please consider using Fishers as I can't recommend them highly enough.

Been the best lettings agency I've ever worked with. It's not always easy handling landlord / tenant relationships but Fishers have been a real help for me and my partner for the last 3 years so far.

Finding a new home is stressful. I would definitely recommend Fishers to support the process. Lin is trustworthy, friendly, prompt to respond, and fair with viewings and offers. Really appreciate her communication while arranging a viewing for a place.

I am so grateful to everyone at Fisher's, especially Kay Barnes, and then Angela in reception, who were always so nice and helpful. The agency was wonderful throughout my year in Birmingham, provided very efficient whenever there was an issue in the flat, and always very kind.

If I could give this letting agency 0 stars I would. Please DO NOT rent any property from this agency. They do not respond to you, they leave you with issues that they do not fix. All in all a terrible organisation. Really unprofessional and a lot of mixed messages and miscommunication when they were contacted about things making the process of renting extremely stressful.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

I would recommend avoiding Fishers if you're a tenant. A number of reviews talk about rudeness - with which I would concur. All contact comes via curt email with no one at Fishers ever bothering to pick up the phone. Also despite being a corporate tenant and wishing to continue renting my flat long term, Fishers provided notice to end the tenancy when I asked to take up my legal right to a periodic tenancy following the expiry of the initial fixed term. I suspect so that they could earn another fee from a new tenant. Very unimpressed with the morally dubious, strong arm and threatening tactics. I certainly wouldn't use Fishers again.

We have rented through Fishers for 3 years. We have found that their approach to their tenants is deplorable. When we contacted Fishers for any reason we were met with a response which indicated that our needs were of no concern to them. They kept referring to the landlord as their client which really bugged me as a tenant is also their client. Tenants pay for a service and deserve to be treated as such, the comment about being second class citizens really hits the nail on the head. We met the landlord who was lovely and very helpful but sadly lives abroad so we had to deal with Fishers. They were slow to respond to report of damage/problems with the property and were not helpful at all. I would strongly advise against using this letting agency. I never write reviews and had to set up a Google+ account in order to be able to write this review, which indicates how strongly I feel about the poor service we received from Fishers.

the receptionist was very rude and had no customer service skills whatsoever...the person who showed me the property did not have a clue at what was going on. ALSO They have some funny rules.. as to not to let properties to self employed people who have their own business. I offered to pay upfront for 6 months. They should tell people before hand to save their time. i Would not recommend this letting agent to anyone

Moving during a global pandemic has been tricky but Fishers have been nothing but amazing and really helped with any queries and questions. Lin has always been so quick to respond to emails and it has been a really positive experience for me using Fishers. I'd definitely recommend them as they care for their tenants and landlords.PositiveProfessionalism

Fishers were fast in responding to any requests, promptly fixed the stuff that needed fixing, and returned our deposit to us in full. Overall very good experience. Only two downside are: 1) Should you have a dispute with them over the deposit, they won't go for arbitration (says so in your contract). 2) They charge you indeed a reference fee of 18 pounds.
