FOX & SONS COWBOYS

They do not deserve the 1 starLet my house through FOX & SONS using the Yeovil branch. New tenant who they referenced claimed he had lost his job after 3 weeks. Turned out he was a scamming conman but when I proved that he had faked his work, previous landlord and employment references they treated me like a joke and did nothing. Thanks to FOX & SONS and 13 months later, £19,000.00 poorer and still counting the cost both financially, mentally and emotionally we have got to the end of this vile ordeal I would not wish on my worse enemy. Throughout I asked for help and they just claimed it was not their responsibility. They believed that by referencing prospective tenants by email only was adequate. We have had to go through a year of hell, they just turned their backs on us. The Ombudsman has now taken up my fight and with FOX AND SONS not looking to change their referencing practices anytime soon I should not think I would be alone.DO NOT TOUCH THESE CORPORATE COWBOYS!!!! THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ME/YOU/US. AND JUST TO UPDATE THE OMBUDSMAN WONT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE F AND S HAVE WRAPPED THEMSELVES IN A PROTECTIVE BUBBLE, THEY OWN THE REFERE NCING COMPANY THEY USE, TENANT LETTING COMPANY (TLC) ALL COME UNDER SEQUENCE BUT THE REFERENCING COMPANY DOESNT COME UNDER THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN REMIT. I WOULD IMAGINE THE OMBUDSMAN ARE OWNED BY THEM AS WELL, SO THEY CAN DO 3RD RATE REFERENCES THAT YOU NEVER HAVE ANY COME BACK WHEN THEY GO WRONG. PLENTY OF OTHER GREAT LETTING AGENCIES OUT THERE OR, DO YOUR OWN.

Fox and sons Worthing are incapable of fulfilling my one and only simple request. They telephone me regularly asking if I would like to sell my property. I have asked nicely many times that they take my details off their list. They always apologise and say that they will but they never do. Incompetent, if they can't perform the simple task of updating their contact list, how can you expect them to market your property ????

What ever I say would not be enough to praise Fox and Sons.The whole team were totally professional, supportive and respectful but there are two people that deserve extra praise:Jack Alsobrook who had the confidence and drive from the outset to complete the sale within the tight timescale I had set him.Abigale Webber who was contactable, communicative and supportive when the going got tough, working tirelessly to ensure a timely completion. Honest review from potential client

Honest review from potential client. After arranging and attending an appointment at my property on Friday I was informed by Rob the branch manager he would phone and email me that evening. After no response I emailed again Saturday and then again on Monday requesting a response for a valuation. Both emails were ignored. Phoned Tuesday to request a response and was given an apology and informed that I would receive a response today as I explained I was awaiting valuation. Didn’t even have the courtesy to phone back either way. If this is the way they treat potential sales and clients I wouldn’t trust them to sell anything let alone a property. Total waste of my time and now I will have to arrange another agent . Avoid

Bitterne Southampton branch. If you are trying to sell/buy your house, don't bother booking with these guys. They are a Total Shower. They don't answer their phones during the day. All day. They don't turn up to viewing appointments and subsequently lie about it.A waste of time for both vendors and buyers!!!In reply to your response f&s, I have already spoken to your branch and they want yet another opportunity to carry on regardless. Sorry but this last episode is the cherry on the cake especially wrt your Branch Manager there.

My wife and I are quite elderly and both retired. We live in our own apartment in a private block which we purchased ten years ago. A few months ago Fox & Sons let a nearby apartment to a woman with severe mental health issues that had been evicted from a council property for causing a nuisance and attracting vermin. Ever since moving in she has randomly dumped huge amounts of rubbish around the building and only last week the council removed 72 bin bags of rotting food from her apartment including pigeons that had also taken up residence. The quality of our lives and that of the other residents has been completely ruined by the inexcusable action of Fox & Sons when it was plain from the outset that this person was seriously mentally ill. We have suffered knives being thrown from her balcony, disgusting graffiti on the staircase, the smell of rotting food permeating the building and cat litter spread everywhere. It is obvious that Fox & Sons took up no references whatsoever before letting the property and they cannot provide any information about this woman’s departure. I am utterly appalled that this company has caused so many residents such misery.

Fox and Sons letting agents - no service at all

Fox and Sons advertised a property to let nearby that was particularly suitable for us. I sent a message via the Rightmove website expressing our interest and asking to view the property. I got no response at all. I called the telephone number and left a message on the answer phone - and got no response. I called the branch and was told I had reached the sales team who could not help but they took a message for me and said they would get the letting department to call me back. No response. I sent emails. No response. Eventually today I drove to the branch to talk to somebody. The lettings department is behind a locked door, no response when I rang the bell. I went into the branch and was told the people there were sales staff and the lettings staff were unavailable. I asked for contact details of a regional manager or head office that I could contact and was told that they do not know the contact details for a headoffice/ regional manager but would take my details and ask the lettings agent to call me. Of course they have not. I eventually drove to the property to see if I could contact the landlord directly. Not surprisingly, after all this time that I have wasted trying to raise somebody from Fox & Sons the property has been let to somebody else. I will never ever use Fox & Sons and would advise others not to either.

I will join the significant percentage of reviewers giving Fox & Sons, in this case the Bitterne branch, 1-star. As the buyer of my property said after the end of completion of the transaction, "Fox & Sons were awful". That was my experience throughout the majority of the sales cycle. I suggest finding a different estate agent.

Disappointing experience

Disappointing experience. Fox and Sons (and their parent company Sequence) have done a very poor job for us. Emails went unreplied, questions unanswered, very slow to do their jobs etc. After 5 months I threatened to pull out of the purchase and voila, they started to chase client and solicitors.

We had Luke from Fox and sons in Hastings round to value our property and at the time he was very nice and knowledgeable. We had in total three agents round who all valued the property about the same. After this we had some conversations with all agents and decided not to go with Fox and sons as after speaking with people knew they advanced us of their very unpleasant experience with them.we Emailed Luke at Fox and Sons to say thank you for your time but we have decided to go another route , below is a copy of the response we got back from him.Notice all the exclamation marks and how he tries to make us feel guilty about going elsewhere !“ Good Morning, What’s the reason for going with another route? I have worked so hard to have given you the best fee anyone has ever had from a fox and sons even better than what my own sister was able to get!! To do this I had to have a long meeting about it with my area manager to get approved! We have the biggest reach in the town due to our offices across the UK and have the best client care set up in the town. I know you had two other agents out one is yet to sell a house over £375,000 this year so I wouldn’t go with them!!I keep getting clients of the other agent you had who claim to be the best in the town, calling me up to take the property on as they haven’t heard from them and been made to do viewings themselves!! They claim they are too busy this is due to them having to many properties to manage this can be seen as they are known for having the highest fall through rate as well. The route you have decide to take I hope works well for you but if you need my services in future once being on with another agent I won’t be able to get the fee lowered again. This is a shame as you had mentioned you would use us if we could do £6,500 including vat and I actually managed to get it to £6,000 including vat.
