Appalling post sales customer service
We have recently bought a property from Crest Nicholson and have had a very bad experience with the after sales service. The flat had many issues which we reported immediately but have still not been resolved even after 3 months. We have been tossed across many point of contacts from customer services but still no resolution. Have sent numerous emails to follow up but still most issues are open affecting our dat to day living.

Climate change, what climate change?
Regrettably, Crest Nicholson's current practices in constructing properties raise significant concerns regarding their adherence to climate standards, despite their proclaimed commitment to combatting climate change. Upon questioning these discrepancies, the response received from the company has been dismissive, assuring prospective buyers that the standards will improve before completion. Moreover, there have been instances where potential purchasers have faced undue pressure, with threats to withdraw the sale if immediate exchange isn't initiated. It's crucial for potential buyers to exercise caution when considering purchasing a new property from Crest Nicholson, as there appears to be a notable lack of post-exchange care and support from the company. Additionally, there have been reported failures on their part to fulfill obligations regarding land transfers, even after all plots have been sold. This results in purchasers being denied rightful representation in the Residents Management Company (RMC), rendering them powerless in addressing property maintenance issues. In light of these concerning practices, it is advisable to approach transactions with Crest Nicholson with extreme caution and to thoroughly research alternative options before committing to a purchase.

Very impressive quality homes and finishings
We visited the Crest Nicholson office at Cringleford Heights and where we met Katrina the Sales Executive who gave us a very informative and professional presentation of the homes available along with all facilities and fittings. We were very impressed with standard of the homes we were shown in particular the attention to detail and came away with all the information we required to help with our decision making. I would highly recommend Crest Nicholson based on our initial and subsequent meetings, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Horrible experience!
Had a horrible time buying a house through Crest. Crest where very helpful and happy to help until you give them your money. Our initial snagging list was ignored and it literally took them 2 plus years to sort it out. After living in the house for 3 years we started to notice a damp patch. We suspected it was a leak so got a plumber to come around to investigate. He found that there wasn't a leak l, the issue was because Crest had installed our water pipes in the wall and plastered directly over over them. The water regulations say that you are supposed to have either a chase or duct on these pipes so they can be removed but they don't. They have also not been lagged so they condensate and as they have been directly plastered over this is making my walk damp and mouldy.I have repeatedly said that they have not followed regulations and literally quoted the regulations that they have ignored but they refuse to accept they have done anything wrong in fact they are insulting and rude.I really feel like I should report this on here so people can be weary before parting with Thier hard earned cash. Personally I would neither recommend them nor ever buy from them againUpdating on the 28/3/24 No one has tried to contact me to try and help me. They just say they are un able to assist me. I will be going to trading standards! One other thing I wanted to point out. Although their star rating is 4.1 out of 5 I just wanted to highlight that as of this date 26% of the customers have given a rating of 1 star. It doesn't look good that 26 people out of 100 have had a horrendous experience. My personal view is 1 star is too good!

Highly stressful and ongoing first home purchase
This is has been an extremely stressful experience buying from Crest. This issue is still ongoing, back in July 2022 we bought a flat in the nightingale fields development - Plot 192, Flat 6 and were told it would be built in December due to the help to buy scheme. It has been delayed to JULY this year! We bought it at the Arborfield Nightingale Field branch. We are first time buyers and all our life savings is tied up in the deposit therefore we cannot look for properties elsewhere. There has been little to no support/communication where we have to constantly chase for information. For example, we spoke on the phone with them asking when the property will be built they replied stating on track for December/January to then have 10 minutes later our financial advisor call through saying Crest has been touch to say it’s been delayed to March/April with no explanation. As said previously, it has been delayed AGAIN to July. This has been a total nightmare. What started out as something exciting has now completely transformed into something else. Our life savings are stuck with them, our mortgage is going to run out in June. We can’t even see where our money has gone. Completely unsupported and feel very disappointed. It has been a dire experience and now we are unsure if we can even afford the place because of the amount of time it has taken. We can’t afford to rent anywhere due to all our money now being tied up in the property and soon our home circumstances will change. Sadly a lot of uncertainty surrounding our first every property purchase considering Crest always claim to be “stress free”, in particularly for first time buyers.

Shocking..
Shocking... brought a property from Crest Nicholson back in July with the promise of moving in, in Novemver. Still no moving in date and will be homeless by Saturday. Had pictures sent to me of my property and they have completely messed up the interior with the wrong tiles and flooring even though we walked around with one of the guys stating that we want everything from the show room, of course we trusted that the guy had written the correct product codes down (why wouldn't we?) And signed the paperwork so I am unable to do anything about this. What was meant to be our dream home and new start has been a complete nightmare. No communication and still none of the wiser when our house will be complete. Let's hope something is done this week as me and my wife will be left homeless by the weekend

Becky
Becky, Hazel, Amy and Lauren were all extremely helpful and supportive through the stages of me and my partner reserving our first home on the First Homes scheme. Nothing but positive things to say about our experience with them so far. Becky has made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable in every meeting we have had with her to discuss our future home. We’re very grateful for her patience and enthusiasm and ability to make our nerves and questions feel valid!

Customer care lacks
I remain of the view that customer care for crest is something they dream of. To tie this is to the prev review, flexing shower plate, I had the visit from the plumber who advised that it’s not a plumbing issue but a “settlement issue” ok as he left I called crest at 2 pm and was diverted to and overflowing line where I was told they might be still at lunch - wow maybe I’m in the wrong job.. if you can lunch till way past 2 pm, anyhow, left a message asked to be called back, to discuss the next steps after what the plumber said. At 3.15 pm I called again I spend 15 min explaining the whole thing and the young girl says “ you’ve come through the after hours support” at 3.15 in the afternoon I said.. again maybe I’m in the wrong job. Again left a message to be called back. Meanwhile the shower has been out of action for the past week, nothing was resolved today once more words fail to really describe how painful dealing with crest is. For something that is fully documented, and tried to fix in the past with no luck the sheer lack of ownership in solving the problem is gigantic. Perhaps it’s taken for granted on crest’s part that we can all meander aimlessly like them. And so ladies and gents, the saga continues. Meanwhile to give one star is paying them a very flattering compliment, because here it should be ZERO.

Blythe Valley development 21 and 22 JAN 2024
I attended Blythe Valley development on two occasions this week. The sale representative was knowledgeable and helpful. For a young person she was very patient and recognised the challenges one has when trying to find a new home. I was impressed with the attention to detail, the health and safety adopted on site, the politeness of the building team, the professionalism of all of the staff on site and the choice of properties, their spaciousness , innovative designs etc the back gardens were small but there were garages for each house I saw
