If you despise nature...

If you despise nature, Soho House's Festival Gunnersbury Park takeover is perfect for you. For a month each year, this "charitable" event excludes local residents, fencing off the entire park. Children can't access playgrounds or sports facilities. Protected wildlife like hedgehogs, bats, and swans are displaced. The soil, after being used for parking and equipment, can no longer sustain life. Hate children? No noise limit near playgrounds. Charity shouldn't harm kids' hearing or block park access for underprivileged children. Soho House ignores protests and removes grassroots projects, catering only to the privileged few who can afford membership. Everyone else? Too poor to matter.

Soho House Improvements for members 2024…

Soho House membership is a highly coveted privilege, but there are some aspects that I believe require improvement. Firstly, members under the age of 27 pay less for the advantage membership and receive the same perks. This policy should be reviewed, as many guests and I feel it is not fair. During busy summer periods, it becomes challenging for older members to connect with younger ones when the pool areas are overcrowded. Therefore, I suggest reducing the number of guests allowed per member from three to one.

Wasted a years membership as it became all centred about minimum spends and pool bookings that were cancelled off if you were more than 20 mins late. As the mum of a toddler I couldn't get there for 8am.

Security clearly have nothing else to do but intimidate members of the public. Had a meeting here and told my friend to wait downstairs. 4 security mob kicked him out citing the building is closed. It's clearly open. I just wanted him away from the rain. Thanks guys. 🙄 …

Just got introduced to this facility, and was WARMLY and i mean WARMLY welcomed by Filip who manages White city works, and let me tell you he was beyond helpful - i can't believe i didn't find this place earlier, as someone who works from home and finds it hard to be in the same place constantly this is going to be a great place to diversify my time

Scam

Scam - added soho friends on a soho home order a year ago, for a 1 year membership, didn’t use it for anything but it made my basket cheaper.

Order delayed by 2 weeks and still no need.

I just would like to find out where is my order please. It has been almost 6 weeks and I am still waiting for my order. Delivery time was stated as 3-4 weeks when I placed the order. I have been exchanging emails with your customer service and been told that product is in your warehouse waiting to be picked up by your delivery partners last two weeks. This is very expensive item and I would expect to have my order delivered on time after paying delivery fee as well. The money is already gone out of my account. I need this to be solved asap. Thank you

Soho sell out

I’ve been a London based member for years, and I’m absolutely done with it. You’ve lost it guys. Sorry but you really have, what a corporate heap of finance bros and posers. Until my membership expires it’ll just be the world’s most expensive cloakroom to ditch my stuff in whilst I go literally anywhere else.

Really disappointed

Really disappointed. I expected to meet cool people--especially creative people--but most people are "digital marketers" or finance bros. They told me I can't cancel for almost a year and lots of other restrictions--so I'm just out a lot of money no matter what. Overall just a bad experience.

had drinks and supper for my husbands 60th birthday at soho house Brighton, they refused to take a birthday cake I ordered as it contained nuts, although they then have nuts on the premises, appalling/rude/unhelpful. The menu was dull, but not as dull and final food brought, one of us had the crab toast, which seemed to minus the crab and flavour, I had the burger, which quite frankly McDonalds does better. £420 later, we went to leave and asked for a cab, as it was inclement, only to be told there was a cab rank outside HARVESTER, it was shame we didn't go to harvester in the first place, the food would have been better, the staff more accommodating, and the crowd more inspiring, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Stay away from Soho House NY

Was a member of Soho House NY and I would not recommend it. I cancelled my member ship 5 months before the annual fees were due and was still charged the subscription fee for another year and I’m told it will take “weeks” for me to get my money back! Absolutely ridiculous!!

Soho House? More like Sh!tshow House

Having arrived with my colleague a few minutes early, we went up in the lift and entered the reception area of 180 House, the lady working on the door found our host's reservation, and said we could go to the dining room and wait at our table for him. We found the dining area and explained that we were meeting a member for lunch. We were escorted to what I believe are supposed to be dining chairs. However, upon sitting on it, I found my knees were equal distance off the floor as my nipples. I'm only a beginner at Yoga, so I can't say I was overjoyed at the prospect of spending the next hour squatting with my ass barely 5 inches off the floor to eat lunch. While trying to discreetly rearrange my man sac and skinny jeans so that my circulation would not be cut off from the impromptu “dinner yoga” class I suddenly found myself in, a stern waitress came storming up bellowing, “I need to see your membership card”. Again, I informed them we were meeting a member who would be with us shortly and off she marched. Our host arrived, his first time in this particular venue, so he was equally surprised as he took to his seat and descended to the floor faster than the golden elevators in the lobby. Our waitress returned with slightly less wind in her bellows, which could only have come from a talking down about her attitude or her blowing into the kitchen stove to stoke the fire. She approached the newest person at the table, who she knew would be a member, and asked for their membership card in a slightly more acceptable tone.We placed our orders; I ordered pie and mash; and discussed whether the designer of the room made that fatal mistake we've all made and accidentally ordered child-sized furniture on Amazon as it looked like a bargain or if they got inches and cm mixed up. As our lunch arrived, I realised I didn’t know the proper elbow-at-the-table etiquette. Not because of my council home upbringing, my nan always said, “working class doesn't mean no class,” and I was taught not to rest my elbows on the table. My elbow etiquette issue was whether they should be inside or outside my knees as I ate at this preschool high dining table. I’ve eaten many pies over the years; as my slightly out-of-proportion but squashed-in a yoga squat gut will testify to; from the traditional pie and liquor of London, the pukka pies from the chippies across the country and the exquisite handmade pies from the Rosewood Hotel. This pie, however, was in a class of its own. A meat pie that was nothing more than a pastry pot filled with gravy and gristle. As I eat the first mouthful, I feel the tough, chewy lumps between my teeth and look at my fork to check I did eat the meat and wasn’t the victim of a skilled prankster who pinged an elastic band into my mouth from 50ft away. As I realise I’m not going to be able to chew through this giant lump of gristle, and not wanting to make a scene in front of our host, I get my sparking water and try to wash it down. As I drink the water, my mistake becomes evident as the bubbles from the water make the gristle bob up and down in my mouth like an unflushable stool. I tried to stay calm as the gristle repeatedly hit the back of my throat, and I gulped it down safe in the knowledge that was going forward; whenever I say I've swallowed worse, it will no longer be a euphemism but a statement of fact.A slight euphoria struck as I got over the event, smiled politely and continued the conversation, blissfully unaware this pie would have me begging god to send me to hell and be force-fed pies made by Sweeny Todd. Out of sheer politeness and not wanting to make our host uncomfortable as they were pitching for work, I force-fed this crud-filled crust into my squashed stomach, with every bite making me close to tears and unable to concentrate on the conversation. I note that throughout this meal, no one approached the table to ask how the food was, or if they did, I was too busy choking down the “meat” to notice. After the meal, my colleague said I looked sick through lunch, and I explained why. Apparently, throughout my ordeal, I was unaware I was not alone. Both my colleague and host also struggled to eat their food. My colleague said their risotto tasted like someone dropped a salt pot in the pan while our host barely touched his mac & cheese. Three straightforward meals, all inedible. Maybe that’s why the staff have such an attitude? Perhaps they know the food is so bad, and they will have to deal with complaints, so avoid asking.

Worst service of my life

Worst service of my life. Every single time at soho house I literally have to fight for the attention of the waiter. I once was coughing and needed a glass a water and it took 45 mins to get a water. I currently sat down at electric house and waited for a waiter for 10 mins until I asked for a waiter. I am now waiting 25 mins to water and a tea, best part is that is half empty.

Lacklustre SH Shoreditch, London

All staff encountered radiated warmth and were friendly. The venue decor is standard, a little dated and not necessarily 'instagram-friendly' as is often sought after by some people.

love having soho house as a go to place

I love having soho house as a go to place - great interior, comfortable seating, relaxed atmosphere and good vibes. Best thing - the dressing rooms at soho beach house in Miami, amazing experience. Things I would wish got improved: food and lower volume on the music playing. Overall though this is a great place with awesome feel.
