Zoopla - don't waste my time!

Zoopla emailed me about remortgaging one of my rentals so I went online requesting details of current rates for my situation. Answered lots of questions, including personal ones about income - and what did they give me? The chance to tick a box asking for a broker to contact me by phone. I assume Zoopla are doing this for some payment from the brokering services. For my part, I resent them wasting my time!

Almost non existent customer service

Almost non existent customer service, the right hand has literally no idea what the left is doing. No internal communication from what I can tell. Cant speak to anyone, email or VR chat only. I cancelled one subscription to one of my businesses, they somehow managed to cancel one that i wanted to keep, the one i didn't is still live ! No one will answer the phone. Customers are complaining to me because they cant see their property advertised....all because Zoopla cant do their jobs properly - time to cancel in its entirety i think and maybe explore On The Market, surely cant be this poor!!

I would score this minus if I could

I would score this minus if I could, set up a payment plan for reduced payments for 3 months, then demanded I pay the missing payments as soon as the plan had ended and gave me a default notice for it. Keep well away from this con artist company, I will be contacting my MP and escalating my complaint, treated very poorly in deed

Misinformaton-la

As far as any reasonable person can be this is a complete waste of money resources and common sense - why would anyone think the services that Zoopla provide as “valuable” it is self serving contradictory and downright useless - akin to evaluating any form on intangible - I shudder to think who on earth would benefit from the data they provide. Rely on your estate agent and ignore the rest

Agent replied · 23 December 2025

Hi Andrew, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your feedback and we're sorry to hear you feel this way. The Zoopla house price estimate is based on data fed through an automated valuation model (AVM), which analyses property information on all 29 million UK homes on a continuous basis. Our data comes from multiple sources based on a number of data points relating to property sales, values and home characteristics throughout the UK, including publicly available data such as that from HM Land Registry and Registers of Scotland. The accuracy of Zoopla estimates is influenced by a number of factors such as the current market values of homes, the quality of the information available on the given property and the availability of comparable properties in the area. This means that unique properties or those where the housing market is slower, may experience less accurate estimates. We receive new data all the time and above-average variations will be largely a result of changing property characteristics and the comparability of the property to the local market. Therefore, discrepancies and/or increases or decreases such as you have outlined are not unusual. Here is a Help Centre article that will give you more information on where we get our data from: https://help.zoopla.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/360005677897 Many thanks, Zoopla Support

Property values of retirement flats

It is misleading to quote a value on a flat without distinguishing between RETIREMENT FLATS and ordinary leasehold flats since the Service Charges are grossly higher on the former, and have a huge effect on the resale value.

Not the happy Zoopla that I remember from years ago.

Sorry to say that the whole experience of advertising with Zoopla this time has been unpleasant and unproductive. The 'gotcha' auto-renew is a disgraceful way to do business and I thought it had been banned - it wouldn't take much for Zoopla to ask their customers if they actually want to renew.

Why Should Agents Keep Paying Zoopla?

Like others said, some agents keep deleting 1,000+ ads and reposting them every week. I have reported "City Spaces" repeatedly for doing this, yet nothing is ever done. Meanwhile, companies like us pay for premium listings and large membership fees in Zoopla commercial rent, only to be pushed down and disappear from search results, buried on page 40+.
