We recently bought a new home using the Ryder and Dutton Our agent was Geraldine Marsden and she was fantastic. Informative, professional and helpful to all our questions and queries. She was with us every step and always helped us as best she could even when things felt it wasn't going to happen. All I can say is thank you Geraldine and the whole team at Ryder And Dutton.

Ryder and Dutton have completed another sale for us..they make it as smooth as possible. This time round we had Veda looking after our sale, Veda kept us up to date with the progress, she chased the buyers solicitors for us when needed, she corresponded everything thoroughly, Veda made us feel like nothing was a problem, she just gets on with the job in hand, Veda provided an excellent service and this is one of the reasons why I continue to choose Ryder and Dutton for selling and buying.

She worked between the solicitors buyer and seller and kept me really informed throughout. If I was ever unsure she would always find out what was holding the process up. I would definitely recommend the service she provides.

The entire team are so great to work with. Their communication is excellent, super professional and always one step ahead. We were apprehensive about our most recent property sale, as we navigated it from the other side of the world. Ryder & Dutton accommodated this perfectly and made sure we could coordinate everything online. I am extremely disappointed with Ryder & Dutton. I raised a serious complaint concerning my property purchase and was given false and misleading information about their complaints and independent redress procedure. I followed the procedure I was given, only to find that the redress route I had been directed towards could not deal with my complaint and I was subsequently told that I needed to pursue the matter through a different independent ombudsman. This caused unnecessary delay, frustration and additional work for me. I believe customers should be provided with accurate and transparent information about the complaints procedure and their rights to independent redress. I am extremely unhappy with how my complaint has been handled and would not recommend Ryder & Dutton.
At the time of your complaint we were members of the Property Redress Scheme. We transferred to a different redress scheme on the 17th July 2026. However, we are unsure why our previous redress scheme provider have advised you that they are unable to deal with your complaint.

I cannot recommend this estate agent highly enough. They kept me updated at every stage of the sale, with regular communication by phone and email. Nicole was especially helpful and always available to answer any questions I had. My property was sold within just a few weeks, and the whole process was handled professionally and smoothly, making it far less stressful than I expected.

The worst agency you could put in charge of your house. If you want a hassle free service DO NOT use them. My experience has been consistently disappointing. Communication has been poor from the outset, with repeated mistakes, delays, and a lack of attention to detail. The viewing process was handled unprofessionally, with the agent appearing unfamiliar with the property and unable to answer basic questions. Throughout the tenancy management, there were administrative errors, unexplained charges, and a general lack of transparency. Routine inspections were significantly delayed despite repeated chasing and, when eventually carried out, were incomplete. I also found the agency unwilling to apply the terms of the tenancy agreement consistently, often appearing to overlook clear breaches while placing the burden on the landlord to resolve issues. Rather than acting as an impartial managing agent, they frequently seemed to favour one side instead of managing the tenancy fairly and professionally. Overall, the service has been disorganised and below the standard I would expect from a professional letting agency. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them.

GoogleI cannot speak highly enough of the team at Ryder & Dutton, Halifax. Having made the decision to sell our home of 24years, we knew processes/procedures will have changed during this time. However from our first contact to eventually completing our sale, this Halifax team were professional, patient and showed real empathy. Huge call out to Ella Leadley, Matthew Hobbs & Oliver Bolton. Anyone considering putting their house for sale within the Calderdale area, look no further than Ryder & Dutton.....you will not be disappointed.
