They were great at managing everything throughout, very proactive and kept us regularly updated on progress. One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

Matteo and Alex have been our complete heroes during the selling and purchase process, and we can't recommend them enough. They found us buyers very speedily and were highly involved throughout the process. We were in a long chain and it was quite complex, Matteo was incredibly patient with us - answering our (many!) questions and chasing up and down the chain to get answers. First time working with Hunters in Stoke Newington for a letting as a landlord. So far so good. Clear and responsive communication, personal touch in terms of relationship building and wise advice. Genuinely interested in finding appropriate tenants, open about how they do so. Bravo Sha and Jay. UPDATE - 14/3/24 With new tenants now in place almost a week, my take on Hunters in Stoke Newington is this. Blown away ! With the excellent experience. Not only was Lettings Manager, Jay, adept at handling tenants, organising, and executing show rounds, but also acting as that pivot between the business, the landlord and the tenant in a manner that you can see is working towards common goals. Best of all, I got to meet and hear from the Boss Man too. Whether you are an experienced landlord, or new to letting your property, I would recommend speaking with one of Hunters branches in North London when weighing up where to take your business. In particular: - within their own timescale, they were able to visit, assess, and locate suitable tenants - they are strong on response times - give sound advice to landlords - pay attention to all the messy bits (like compliance…snore…) that are easy to get lost in - when I said I was after relationship building and not speed-dating, they took note. Am looking forward to the next phase and to a lasting working relationship, in to double digits was my past experience. Cheers to Church Street !

Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

I recently bought an apartment in Hackney through Hunters and had a great experience. Alan was brilliant throughout the process, always on hand to help with my many questions and steered all parties (seller and solicitors) in the right direction to get to the quickest close possible. 1 bed property Sparks Close, Dagenham, RM8 - Landlord and hunters agent where complicit in illegal procedures regarding discrimination. We went through all the paper work and wasted 2 weeks till they call me and tell me the Landlord dont want a baby in the property. Don't trust them slow untrust worthy. And definitely dont rent the sparks close 1 bed property, Landlord seems like a handful save your self

We bought a 2 bed flat through Hunters earlier this year. Shaheel, our agent, was very well knowledgeable about the rental market, he gave us confidence in the demand for our property, and very helpful tips about the necessary building works. Shaheel spent a lot of time with us to understand our priorities, both for the purchase, any building works and the tenants we were targeting. As promised, we had a buyer within a week and completed 3.5 months later. Throughout this, Shaheel was very responsive and very helpful when it came to arranging viewing access prior to completion. Overall, really happy with the service and would use Hunters again.

My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

Robot refused to give me a viewing

Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

Disappointed

Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.
