I am a client of 2 Dexters branches. One works very well because there is an individual who can take responsibility and get things done. 5 stars. At the other branch, I have no single contact and when I call the letting branch they say maintenance is not their responsibility (despite being the managers) and I am referred to the property management people (not sure where they are located ) but then still no single person takes responsibility. It can be a very trying experience finding someone who will actually do anything to help

Dexters Property Management

Dexters have been fully managing our property since August have done a great job. We, unfortunately, had a major leak that damaged the property all the way from the top floor to the lower ground floor, and this was just five days before the new corporate client was supposed to move in. The team too swift action to get the house ready for the tenant to live in while the longer term damage could be repaired. They even worked with our insurance company to process the claim. It has been a very stress free (despite the extent of the damage) and hands off experience for us. We are very pleased we handed over the management of our property to Dexters.

I made the mistake of trusting Dexters…

I made the mistake of trusting Dexters again after an initial incident where pure profit over people made me wish I never encountered them, but I loved the look of a place being advertised and couldn't help but at least attempt to see if it was right for me. In the end not only was it a "bait and switch" the property being advertised was already off the market but I 1- got inedadted with irrelevant properties in my inbox 2- was stood up at a viewing that was scheduled and 3 had all of my communication preferences ignored. I won't fall again for the trickery and horrificly unprofessional conduct of Dexters again.

Completely ghosted by an agent after we had already started looking at properties together. Tried to follow up via phone and email multiple times, no reply. A simple email saying „this property isn’t available anymore“ or whatever the reason might be is simply the professional thing to do, and it’s not hard. Will not be contacting them again for my next home search!

Dexters have looked after the management of our property for quite some years now, and I would like to take this opportunity to mention that in the past 12 months the attention to our needs and the management of our property has become a 5 star service. Our appointed property manager, George Bromage, is polite, helpful and efficient and ensures that all our needs and requests are taken care of in the best way possible way. Dexters got me excellent tenants in no time, there was only one week between the previous tenants leaving and the current tenants arriving! But I particularly appreciate the management of the tenancy agreement that they provide: Thank you, Myra, for your excellent inspections and for providing me with the right contacts whenever a problem arises. It matters to have confidence in an agent who is always responsive to the needs of the landlord and the tenant. I would recommend Dexters for both finding suitable tenants and for efficiently managing the ensuing agreement.

Dreadful. When viewing, the agent was uninformed about the property and didn't know whether it had a gas supply. When we moved in, there were multiple broken/faulty items/appliances and the property clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. Complained over two months ago and still the issues haven't been resolved. Service has been awful, constantly have to chase to get anything done, rarely given any sort of timeframe and when we are, these deadlines are often missed and ignored until we chase again.

Tldr: Dexters at its best is a very effective retail estate agent; however if you fall through the cracks or get a bad property manager it can be a hard experience. We had a poor property manager who let a pretty major issue develop and damage the property. This effected us the tennants and I imagine long term will cause the land owner some future costs. After chasing this property manager over 6 months we sent an email to a general Dexter email - in which we got informed our previous property manager had left and we got reassigned Michelle Caulker. Michelle on the other hand was really good. They were prompt at dealing with issues, responsive via email, and kept us informed about developments in the ticket.

She was quick and effective in getting in touch with our landlord to escalate the issue and ensure it was dealt with as quickly as possible. I am really impressed by Dexter’s. I have used them at their Bloomsbury branch and the team there are excellent so I was already confident letting out my Hackney flat with the Broadway Market team. Joe Read and Natasha Tarry have been brilliant, from getting new tenants in immediately, keeping me updated every step of the way and helping me throughout the process with enthusiasm and efficiency. Joe Read going above and beyond into the evening hours to help me with some additional documentation too. As a tenant, I would like to commend Bryan Crail (Bloomsbury Office) on his communication, problem solving and attention to detail in property management. Recently, following a planned visit to the property, we have identified a number of issues that had to be repaired. Bryan clearly and promptly communicated with the landlord as well as myself. He was able to professionally negotiate and quickly find the solutions to these problems, while keeping the interests of both the tenant and landlord in mind. Great work!
