With an agent you have to build a relationship and then you find they lie to you, quite disappointed which then you end up wasting time and money, personal I would avoid
The additional information you asked for, the property was the property was Laurelwood Rd Stockton-on-Tees and we dealt with a Joe who accepted our offer it went to legals and then came back to say the owner wasn't selling due to family reasons. A week later we go to see the house opposite and there is a sale agreed sign, when we checked it was sold to somebody else. Always just to work with the truth, we were understandably upset by the whole experience with this agent

I can completely understand why you were upset. You had agreed a purchase, things had progressed to solicitors and you were then told that the sellers had decided not to move for family reasons. Seeing a Sale Agreed board still at the property afterwards would understandably have made you question what you had been told.
What I would like to reassure you about, though, is that Joe did not lie to you. He passed on the information that we had been given by the sellers at the time, and there would have been absolutely no reason for either Joe or Selectiv to deliberately mislead you.
We were disappointed that the sale didn't proceed too. As the estate agent, we only get paid when a sale completes, so we certainly had nothing to gain from your purchase falling through.
Where we did get it wrong was with the board. When the property was withdrawn, the Sale Agreed board should have been removed and unfortunately that wasn't dealt with. I can see how that added to the situation and I'm sorry for the confusion it caused.
I hope this at least explains things from our side and reassures you that Joe was simply passing on the information we had been given at the time.

Although selective were great in the beginning with selling our house. They told us they had their own conveyancing which is not the case. They actually contract this out to move with us who then put it out to tender and give misguided pieces with hidden charges in small print.This has in turn ended up costing us £800+ in extra charges going through the third company parties they use to do this. If using them do not use their conveyancing or Merritt’s Solicitors in Yarm.

We can refer clients who require conveyancing to a panel of independent solicitors, including a number of well-established and highly regarded firms. This service is entirely optional and our clients are always free to instruct a solicitor or conveyancer of their own choosing.
Selectiv does not quote legal fees. Any quotation for conveyancing services is provided by the conveyancing provider or solicitor and is based upon the information and services required at the outset. Similarly, any additional legal fees that may subsequently arise are determined by the solicitor and are not charges made by Selectiv.
We are sorry that you were disappointed with this aspect of your transaction, but we are pleased that you were happy with the estate agency service you received from our team.

We than ran into difficulty when buyer pulled out this was all chased up by Kaitlan who is a really credit to the company. GoogleWhen I instructed selective they were honest on price, the promotion of our home was good and viewings came through the door. Their communication was really good and we accepted an offer. We then had a delay on the sale through no fault of selective or ourselves, this delay felt like a life time, through all of this kaitlan and the rest of the team were there to support us. They chased for information, kept up in the loop all the way and listened to us. I was never ignored. All of the Redcar team were outstanding with an extra special mention to kaitlan, in sales progression, calm, professional and very kind. GooglePoor experience overall. Would not recommend or ever use again. Property could have easily sold itself, but introduced to buyers who were nothing short of an absolute headache from beginning to end. Once buyers had been found, Selectiv acted like job done and had no interest in marketing further. Negotiating skills for me as a seller were non existent, all heavily loaded towards keeping the buyer happy. Back to the old adage you get what you pay for! Next time I’ll leave it to the professionals and give this shoddy outfit a wide berth.
