Disappointing

We approached Dexters to rent out our property. Initially they were very helpful. When we were ready to move ahead I asked for a copy of the agreement we would have to sign with them. Despite chasing them up, we have had no communication from them since then. I don't know if they just couldn't be bothered with the admin but we have now taken our business elsewhere. Very disappointing.

Landlords Avoid!

I used a local agent in London for many years to rent my property. They were responsive, helpful, and I always knew who to speak to in case of any issues. Then Dexters took over. I have a rent collection issue (which they do on my behalf), and no contact from them despite numerous calls and emails. In the meantime I'm missing a third of my rent.Update on 5 Jan: Despite the response below I never did hear from the area director. I am now short two months of rent, I've been asking for evidence of referencing on tenants since 16th December for insurance purposes with no answer but many non responses. I've also found out that I am an not easily able to take action against my tenants for non payment of rent due to the contract that I am tied into thanks to Dexters, something they failed to make clear up front.

Bad experience with Dexters: Unmet promises and security issues

My experience with Dexters, particularly with Matt Hartwell, the estate agent at the Clapham branch, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. Prior to moving in, assurances were made regarding the condition of the house, even supported by video evidence. However, upon our move-in date, the property was in an even worse state than initially communicated. Throughout the initial weeks of our tenancy, essential issues such as broken windows, a damaged roof, and a malfunctioning toilet were highlighted, yet we were informed that these critical repairs would not be addressed. This was incredibly disappointing, as these are fundamental aspects that significantly impact living conditions. What's more concerning is the oversight regarding the keys. Matt failed to retrieve them from the previous tenants, allowing them unauthorised access to the property during the night once our tenancy had commenced. This security breach was alarming and deeply unsettling. The lack of follow-through on promised repairs and the breach of security with former tenants retaining access showcases a concerning lack of responsibility and care on the part of Dexters and their representative, Matt. It's disheartening when assurances made prior to the tenancy are not honored, leading to a compromised living situation. Moving forward, I urge Dexters to improve their communication, accountability, and overall management of properties to ensure that future tenants don't face similar disappointing experiences. It's crucial for a reputable agency to uphold their commitments and prioritise the safety and comfort of their tenants.

My experience with ( DEXTERS). This is the first property I have ever rented and the service has been second to none from the very beginning. From the initial viewing to signing the contract, everything was made so easy and straight forward by the staff at (Peter James ) as possible as at then . I was with them from 2018, before DEXTERS took over. They are nice friendly and easy to deal with team , never had any problems, and any reports have been dealt with immediately. The team of workmen are polite & friendly as well, they leave the property just how they met it . I would miss my small cozy place . I am extremely happy with the service I have received and everyone I have spoken to or emailed in the office have always been kind and very helpful. The Highlight for me is with VIRAJ, he broke the news that my house was up for sale , it broke my heart, but he was extremely professional, He very supportive throughout the process of my house search, constantly making sure that I was fine . In the process I lost my dad. The Long and short of it all is that VIRAJ @ Dexter's property management is professional, efficient and most of all he has a human heart .
