Having been long term tenants of Chartwell lettings (9.5 x years) we looked upon the company more as friends than representatives of our landlord. We found the whole staff extremely approachable at all times and on the odd occasion that we required assistance with the property a qualified tradesman was with us straight away. Keith Walters was always on hand to help and would always return our call and in many cases visit us in person to make sure that everything was ok, he looked after us from the day we moved in to the day we vacated. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Moving in was made stress-free and easy thanks to Keith and the team. All referencing was easy, and everything was explained in detail. We didn't get to use Chartwell for long but as a comparison, I wish we could. We had a few minor issues in the property we let but it was fixed, quickly. Communication was thorough and we always knew what was happening. Only moved out due to a change of circumstance but if we could be using Chartwell right now, we would.

Keith and the team at Chartwell have rented out my property for the last 13 years. In fact Chartwell have looked after me since I first purchased the property and I have never changed agent. As an investor its important for me to achieve the best rent that I can for my property and not to have void periods. If My tenant does change, then Keith normally has a new tenant in within a week or so, and so void periods are always minimal. On the property management side I cant speak highly enough of Chartwell. Any maintenance issues are always completed quickly and at a reasonable cost. Landlords look no further..........

Having rented for almost 20 years with various estate agents in the south east ( I’ve moved a lot) I can honestly say I’ve never dealt with another estate agent that even comes close to being as good this one. During my house hunting the property let by Chartwell Residential was the only property I viewed and I immediately fell in love with it. I contacted the office and they were very quick to respond. I didn’t need to fill out any lengthy forms or answer numerous questions. I expressed that I needed to move ASAP and I was given an appointment to view the property that very evening. I met with Keith who came to show me around, he was very friendly, warm and welcoming. Keith was very keen to help me considering it was only a few days to Christmas. Following a mutual agreement to proceed, Keith, Jessica and Caroline immediately got the ball rolling and I received my keys within 72hours of viewing the property. Keith is very knowledgeable, organised and was very professional at all times. The team were very quick to respond to any concerns and queries whilst in the property. Couldn't recommend them enough. We have been renting from Chartwell for about 6.5 years. Just over a year ago I returned to the UK after having worked abroad. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid I found the staff and owner at this agency, except for Anthony, to be quite rude and unprofessional in the way they handle the business of letting properties. Keith Walters is a rather pompous character, who comes across as poorly informed, quite ill-mannered, extremely rude and very disorganised. During the viewing, he was completely ignorant of which property was actually available to rent. Once applications were made and deposit and reference checks were paid for, there was no communication from them on how matters were progressing even though a holding deposit was made right at the start. In the end, I made it quite clear how unimpressed I was by the poor quality of their service, and they had to make a complete refund of all the costs. This last at least was done with no issues. Theirs is by no means a decent service and should be avoided at all costs.

This is the first time I have rented on my own and nothing could be more simple. Chartwell Residential have been upfront and honest with me from the very beginning. I much prefer having a conversation with a genuine person than a sales person who will tell you anything you want to hear. I shopped around looking for my first flat, this was not easy as I planned on living alone. Other agencies invited me to showings but I could not secure anything, even though I was offering to pay everything that needed to be paid upfront there and then. I felt that because I wanted to rent on my own people would not give me a chance. Until I found Chartwell Residential. Whilst under-staffed and stretched thin, the amazing people at Chartwell Residential took me from a phone call to living in a place I could call my own within a matter of weeks. I could not be more satisfied with the service they have provided and how friendly they have been whilst providing it. I waited a week before reporting any problems as I wanted to find them all first, there were only a couple. After one email, an engineer was sent out to not only assess the issue but have it fixed the following day. The shower taps no longer turned off completely, instead of a bodge job the engineer replaced the taps without messing me around and with the minimum amount of visits. I have had experience with engineers dragging out a job to increase their hourly rate but here, this was not the case. Overall, I have no complaints, only praise for Chartwell Residential, thank you for all your efforts and I look forward to renting from you for many years.
