Fantastic Experience from Rental to Sale We have had a fantastic experience with McArthur Scott from beginning to end. Our relationship initially started with Chris, who looked after the rental of our property and provided us with an excellent and professional service throughout. When the time came to consider what we should do next with the property, Fiona, the owner of McArthur Scott, took the time to talk through our options and gave us honest, practical and extremely helpful advice. There was never any pressure, just good guidance that helped us make the right decision for us. Once we decided to sell, Caroline took over the sales process and made the whole experience remarkably straightforward. From putting the property on the market through to completion, everything was handled seamlessly and efficiently. Communication was excellent, we always knew where things stood, and Caroline kept the process moving right through to the finish. What impressed us most was the continuity of service. From Chris managing the rental, to Fiona providing advice when we were considering our options, and finally Caroline managing the sale, we genuinely felt supported throughout the entire journey. McArthur Scott demonstrated exactly what a great local estate agency should be, knowledgeable, approachable, responsive and genuinely interested in doing the right thing for their clients. Toby, Guy and the team at Lindfield do it the way it should be done; enthusiastic, hard working and totally committed to getting the best result for their clients. Unconstrained by corporate dictat, their clients can expect honest advice as to how best to market their property (and how much for), and the presentation of their property to their best advantage. Unlike many of their competitors, they don’t sit back and expect the property portals to do their work for them; they follow up with regular targeted emails to buyers and, when the time comes, negotiate sales for their clients to best effect. They are a delight to do business with.

We cannot speak more highly of Fiona & her team - they are an incredible bunch. To start with we went with Lynne to view a couple of apartments, and with high expectations. On arrival at the second viewing I was a little less positive than anticipated, and although my lovely wife Carol could see the potential this amazing apartment had to offer, I was struggling to see the same. Lynne very subtly converted me.. This viewing led to a few months of support & coaching from Fiona, Caroline & all the team. They kept us on focused & on track in both Selling our big old Victorian house and on Purchasing the modern Penthouse Apartment of our dreams. There were tears, but even more laughter as the magical McArthur Scott Team went to work and persistently made it happen for us. These guys know there stuff, they "read the room", they understand their Client, they deploy passion & enthusiasm, they are creative and simply think of everything. They call & text with updates, and best of all when all transactions are completed they come & check you are ok in your new surroundings.. Their attention to detail, especially with the photography and marketing materials, was second to none. Everything looked fantastic and really helped showcase our home in the best possible light. I am writing this to provide an honest account of our experience with MacArthur Scott to help prospective tenants understand their service levels. We entered our tenancy in April 2025 with the explicit understanding that it was a long-term let. We were told by the agency that the landlord was looking for a two-year commitment, which we agreed to. However, in February 2026, we were given three months' notice to vacate. While I appreciate that a landlord’s decision to sell or move back in is outside of an agency's direct control, the manner in which MacArthur Scott handled the situation was highly unprofessional. The primary issues we encountered were: • Insensitive Communication: We received the news via a clumsy and insensitive email. There was no prior phone call to break the news or a follow-up call to discuss the impact on us. • Lack of Proactive Support: While a "loose" offer was made to help us find a new property, it was never followed up. We have had to do all the chasing ourselves. • Slow Response Times: This lack of proactivity wasn't new; throughout our tenancy, the agency was consistently slow to respond to inquiries, often requiring multiple chases from our end to get a simple answer. It feels as though the agency lacks either the capacity or the professional competence to support tenants effectively during difficult transitions. If you are looking for a letting agent that prioritises clear communication and proactive service, you may want to look elsewhere.

McArthur and Scott is a fantastic company to deal with. They went above and beyond to help sell my flat and make sure all went smoothly. Chris, Caroline and the team always replied promptly to any queries and communicated excellent with my buyers - who were in a different time zone! Chris and Caroline were always cheerful and fun to deal with. They helped reduce the stress of moving - with reassurance and great communication. They solved all problems quickly & effectively. Ken (photographer) is an amazing asset. He takes carefully crafted, high quality photographs to show your property off to its best advantage. Ken’s excellent photography was what first attracted me to use this company - as after viewing properties he’d photographed, I really felt he’d presented the property in the best way possible! Chris and Caroline were open to all suggestions with regard to the property listing - and were happy to edit it, add to it and include extra photographs. Their lighthearted social media posts help to engage viewers and are entertaining. They put a lot of effort into keeping up their social media profile. Laughable lot. Owner's unit for rent next door to shop, yours for only £700 pcm. You bring the money, they'll leave the holes in the roof! Bargain!! The place is in awful shape but they were unwilling to fix and maintain it, so, after waiting weeks to view it (excuse after excuse about a dodgy door, would.you.believe?!), and finally finding out the true state of it, I walked. Based on this, I would never sell through them. Wouldn't trust them one iota. Use professionals (and choose ones who take photos of your house, not your cushions).

I don't know where to start. I think my angels were looking after me when I came across Fiona's vid on TikTok. Due to my landlord wanting to sell the property I was renting and give serving me with a notice to leave, I was in a state of panic and housing uncertainty. Rent prices were through the roof and unaffordable, my only option was to rent a shared accommodation or look for social housing which as near impossible due to the years waiting list. The only option left was to buy a property but getting a mortgage late in life and being self employed was proving very difficult. The first mortgage broker I went to was only able to get a mortgage below half of what McArthur Scott managed. I was losing hope but Fiona and team worked their magic and were able to get me the mortgage I needed to buy the property from my landlord. This took away a lot of worry, stress & anxiety I can now sleep well. I cannot recommend them highly enough, if you want the best mortgage options and the most amazing personal service then you'll find no one better. Lots of love to Fiona, Michael and Chloe. Xxx

MacArthur Scott have been great with guiding us through the whole process of obtaining our first mortgage. They have been extremely supportive and explained to whole process simply without throwing lots of legal jargon . Chloe and Fiona have always been open and honest with our options with securing our first mortgage. They have never overloaded us with information and have always been very quick to respond to any questions we had. They also provided us with property solicitors without the pressure of using them . Not only did they provide us with the property solicitor, they liaised with them to create a seamless process. We never once doubted their expertise and could rely upon them 100%.
