My brother and I contacted Hunters…

My brother and I contacted Hunters recently in relation to a 6 bedroom detached house with extensive parking & gardens in Buntingford Hertfordshire. We arranged an appointment with their employee Laura. My brother and I were so impressed by Laura from our first meeting in relation to her knowledge of lettings. She proved herself to be highly efficient and courteous during the following week and arranged all the certification, photos & floor plans for the letting with the individual contractors and in addition to providing us with beautiful Client brochures posted it on Rightmove within a very short time scale. I would highly recommend Laura and Hunters.

We sold a house through Hunters Dursley a few weeks ago and cannot fault the team. They were professional at all times, provided us with frequent updates and were extremely helpful collaborating with our solicitor. A special mention for Katrina who was exceptionally skilled in bringing the sale to completion; liaising with all parties involved. We would certainly choose Hunters again if we ever move. Thank you all very much 🌟

I have used Hunters to sell my house twice now and both times they have been absolutely excellent! An incredibly professional, high level of service for both the seller and the buyer. Saskia (and the team) were brilliant throughout the sale, even in the middle of a global pandemic. We were thrilled with Richard's initial valuation, believing it to be both fair and accurate. We were even more thrilled when we achieved a deal very close to the asking price. Saskia was brilliant at communicating between ourselves and our buyer but also with our solicitors and the onward chain. I would definitely use them again, I just wish we could have brought with them too but unfortunately they didn't have quite what we were looking for. I cannot recommend them highly enough!!

I recently sold 3 houses with Hunters…

I recently sold 3 houses with Hunters in Gateshead and I have to say Hunters did a job a great job for me. A couple of the sales were not straight forward but they managed to get the sales over the line and and showed great worth ethic and professionalism. Rob is always on the other side of the phone going the extra mile to help out. They also managed my rentals and did an amazing job finding me great tenants. I have no doubt in recommending their services to anyone looking to buy sell or rent property in Gateshead and around. Anthony Jowers

Despite a very long and sometimes challenging sales process, HUNTER’s, especially Mandy, dealt with the matter in a calm and professional manner at all times. They communicated effectively, ending with a positive experience, for which we are Very grateful. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Not professional

What to say, utterly unprofessional estate agent. Some properties are for sale in ivyhouse road that we like to view, seen it in Zoopla. And was told that property is sold couple of weeks ago, off hand. I am sure as an agent they have access to the account and very easy to put it STC, rather than making people running around.

Fantastic efficient friendly service

I have just recently moved out of a property that Hunters in Baldock were managing I can’t believe in the difficult times with the pandemic how absolutely professional and efficient they have been. Both Claire and Chloe were brilliant. Supported me through the exit all the way, made sure the deposit was quickly paid back quickly and fairly, at no point did I feel money was being held unnecessarily.I would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of letting their home

The team at Hunters, especially Katrina helped my brother & I through a difficult year of selling our mum's retirement home after she passed away in Feb 22. Our 1st buyer pulled out, but we quickly had a 2nd as Katrina contacted the other interested party at the time & worked tirelessly to follow up all parties until sale completed. All staff friendly & supportive

avoid them, they don't care about tenants

Unfortunately, estate agents usually have exclusive rights on properties and if you find a property you really like, you will have to go through them whether you like it or not. It's also likely that you will only see this review when you have already had problems with Hunters, but just in case this helps anyone, here's my recommendation: avoid them entirely, find another property you like if they are managing it exclusively. After I ended my tenancy, they kept me waiting for weeks and weeks without any kind of information. I could've waited to receive the money of the deposit, but I couldn't accept is the complete neglect and lack of updates they put me through. They didn't return calls (when i called they were always busy) and never answered emails. After trying to contact them again and again, they only decided to do something when I said I would take them to the small claims court if necesary, Even with that, they did reply but with lots of nonsensical excuses. After I got my money I found out that the landlord, unlike me, had been in the loop for everything.I wasn't even notified about the meter readings taken on check-out day by the clerk so that I could close my accounts. Why was I treated so differently? Well, simple, they don't care about tenants, only landlords, because they are the ones giving them their cut, not us.Also, the agents were the ones holding my deposit, so the later the better for them. They were clearly not in a rush to return my deposit.Absolutely unprofessional behaviour from a big estate agent that has offices in multiple places. This is a money-making machine with no consideration for tenants.

Nicole Coombes at Hunters estate agents, Middleton; has helped me and my partner (first time buyers and we had no clue about the processes of purchasing a property) she talked and helped us through step by step and made each step clear and understandable. she also did this with such a warm, friendly and professional manner plus she was so patient with me throughout. i would certainly recommend hunters and certainly Nicole Coombes was just fablous with us. we now, thanks to nicole at hunters, moved into out first, soon to be family home

Cooling off period contract disparity…

Cooling off period contract disparity with hunters. We signed up to sell our property then changed our minds over the weekend as we are entitled to do under the 14 day cooling off period. There is a clause in the contract which contradicts this entitlement so be warned if you change your mind. The measure of any company is how they react! In our case, demand for payment and threat of debt collection when no work had been done. Be warned my fellow house moversThe sooner estate agents are regulated, the better for all concerned!!! Ombudsman your time to shine

Save yourself the hassle and don’t bother!

Save yourself the hassle and don’t bother. From the moment we met Justin at Hunters, I should’ve sensed that something was wrong. He was full of the miracles he was going to work, how he would sell our house in days, not weeks or months. We fell for his lip service, telling ourselves it was enthusiasm, and listed with them.We thankfully negotiated to not pay the £165 he was asking for up front for “professional” photographs. This was one of our better decisions - the photos were less than ideal. I had to ask Hunters to re-edit them and turn down the saturation as all of the oak wood throughout our home looked bright orange! The photographer was from an external company and was also an arrogant piece of work. After a week or so on the market had passed with zero communication from Hunters, I called them to ask for an update. I was met with very little response and that they were not sure why there had been no interest (remember how I said Justin would sell it in “days, not weeks”...).I let another week pass to the same tune, no communication. I called again and their response was “let’s rejig the order of the photos on Rightmove”. Still nothing, and still no more communication. Our house is in a desirable area and is immaculately presented, so at this point I’m failing to see what the issue is. I’m asking Hunters who also have no idea. However the most worrying part was when I asked what their next steps were... blank. Nothing. No idea.Katy came out to see the house, supposedly so she could speak about it with first-hand experience to interested parties. I explained on her visit that I would like regular communication regarding the plan and next steps. I should point out that in my line of work I have to manage several projects at once and I often have to update stakeholders on progress. If progress is delayed, I am expected to reason out why and think of next steps - this is simply what I was asking Hunters to do.COMMUNICATE.After 5 weeks, we had whispers of a viewing. So I handed over the keys as we weren’t going to be around. I expressly stated that viewers are to either remove their footwear or wear shoe covers upon entering. I reiterated this as it had already been said on four separate occasions to two members of the team.I returned home to boot prints on my carpets. I have white carpets in my bedrooms.I turned on my CCTV which allows me to see into my porch way - no shoes were removed, and no covers applied. Absolute basic request, and disrespectfully not followed.I looked over the rest of the viewing, granted only from the outside of the property and also noticed an incredibly stupid move; When we left before the viewing, we put the bins out at the top of the drive. After collection, some ‘helpful’ individual decided to move the bins more into the drive where they were blocking the pathway down, sat just above some steps and right next to my car.Charlotte from Hunters arrived to do the viewing; She squeezed herself between the bins/car to go open up. She then squeezed herself back through to go wait for the viewer at the top of the drive. They arrive, and they all squeeze themselves past again. WHY NOT MOVE THE BINS?!?! What a brilliant first impression to make! Honestly, basic lack of intelligence shown at this point. After we came home and saw this, I asked for our keys back. Three days later and they’re not posted back through the door. There were whispers of another viewing but by this point I’d absolutely had enough of Hunters lack of professionalism, respect and communication. Basic things that they’re failing on.I terminated the contract (14 days notice negotiated, don’t let them fob you off with more) and went with another agent!Oh - and then they respond to your review to call you a liar. Real smooth.

It was a pleasure working with Richard and his team at Hunters in Dursley. Throughout, every member made us feel as though we were in safe hands. Saskia, Karen, Katrina and Ashley worked especially hard to sell our house as quickly and efficiently as possible. With their professional yet friendly approach they were able to provide us with regular viewings, updates and feedback, making the overall experience a lot less daunting for us as sellers. Their photos are picture perfect and really caught the essence of what our house had to offer! No complaints here and would strongly recommend to anyone. ZacPositiveProfessionalism

I have bought and sold several properties over the years using Richard and his team at Hunters and would highly recommend their services. We recently sold our property at an excellent price, well above valuations from other agents, and Katrina and the entire team were helpful and communicative throughout the process. Richard has an excellent knowledge and understanding of the property market making his advice well worth listening to. He has a patient, understanding manner and a calming influence when dealing with customers whose stress levels are clearly heightened in these circumstances! An accomplished negotiator co-ordinating both parties in the process ensuring he achieves the best possible outcome.
