I cannot recommend Murdock & Wasley enough, from the first meet to the exchange, everyone in the team has been personal, approachable and fantastic throughout. Real people, not gormless agents who are robotic and not real! From the viewings and the honest feedback, they all were brilliant. To the 10 long months of battling for our new property, Laura was on hand at any moment to offer support and guidance and i really feel without her, I couldnt have come this far, a calm, shoulder to cry on in a time of crisis is vital in this process and Laura is an absolute assett to M&W and i will miss her daily, calming phone calls now life is going back to normal. Big thanks to Matt W also, for his patience, personable approach and understanding when things havent gone smoothly, you have both been amazing throughout this entire process and i will always recommend M&W to anyone in the future. 5*

All I can say is DON’T buy with Murdock and Wasley, they were just terrible when I was buying a property through them. They were always phoning me asking what was going on with the sale when my solicitor was dealing with everything. They just kept badgering me to the point that they were saying that the property was going back on the market.This happened at least three times, Tiffany was the person who showed me around the property l had asked her to find out details on the property for me because she didn’t know the answers. These were quite simple questions that I had to ask her several times for the answers ie where are the keys to the garage, was the property on a water meter which she said no it wasn’t but since I have brought the property It has turned out that it was. She couldn’t get simple things right, whenever she was showing me around she would roll her eyes and keep looking at the time. I do understand that they have to take instructions off the seller but, but to tell me the seller was difficult and not easy to work with I think is very unprofessional. I did buy the property in the end I can only say that it was a nightmare, even when I went to collect the keys from them when I walked in Tiffany said this is Jane in a smug way. I told one of the owners what a nightmare I had been he was very smug too shrugged his shoulders as If he wasn’t bothered. He didn’t even ask me what the problems were. I would NEVER sell or buy using this estate agent again.

As first time buyers, we went into this process with high hopes, but our experience with Murdock & Wasley turned out to be incredibly stressful and deeply disappointing from start to finish. We were initially told the property was chain free and ready to proceed, only to discover (on the very day we were supposed to hand in our rental notice) that it was actually part of a complex five party chain. While the agency later admitted this was an "initial marketing error", the lack of transparency was devastating. We were assured the sellers were moving into a property that was "ready to go", and we trusted that communication implicitly. Had it not been for my partner’s tenacity and a gut feeling that something was wrong, which led to several frantic phone calls, we could have been left homeless for 19 days. Communication was a constant struggle. Despite the Managing Director inviting us to contact him on WhatsApp at any time, crucial updates were frequently missed and viewings weren't booked as promised. In one instance, a vital update about our deposit was ignored for three days, which was later explained away as him having simply "blinked and missed it". It felt like a very one sided relationship; the agency was quick to chase us for solicitor details, deposits and mortgage offers, yet they were nowhere to be found when it came to providing information about the wider chain. The most unprofessional moment came when the agency forwarded my private messages (to the director) to the sellers, which triggered a distressing and horrific response from the seller, that the Managing Director then sent back to me. It felt like a calculated move to pressure us into dropping a repair request and pre-completion negotiations. That humiliation caused us to back down on negotiations we were entitled to, and since moving in, we have found several more issues that we weren't able to address because of that pressure. To make matters worse, the Managing Director made me feel as though I should just accept the house’s faults because "it isn't a new build" as he mentioned in a message. Even on our completion day, the moment we finally got our keys, was cold and underwhelming. Despite being in the same room as us, both directors turned their backs and offered no acknowledgement or congratulations. For a first home purchase, that complete lack of basic courtesy was genuinely disheartening. We have now escalated a formal complaint to The Property Ombudsman as this agency has completely failed to acknowledge their shortcomings.
