The team in Glenrothes have been great. Knowledgeable, supportive and friendly. Jackie, Andrina, Val have kept me informed all the way and been so helpful. Douglas was good and talked me through everything when initially putting house on the market and Tony was there to show the viewers round. Great team and would highly recommend. When it comes time for me to buy again they will be my first place to call.

We had quite a few estate agents out to the house for a valuation but from the minute Scott entered our house and we began to discuss the house and valuation we felt he was honest, approachable and most of all being the sellers of our much loved house he listened. At no time did we feel pressure or an obligation to secure him as our agent. May I also add that when contacting the Glenrothes branch and speaking to the rest of the team they also were very approachable and no amount of questions were to much. I cannot rate Slater, Hogg and Howison highly enough.

Ten years of overcharging and appalling service

I was a landlord for ten years and dealt with Slater Hogg throughout that period. My experience was consistently appalling. I felt overcharged at every opportunity and never believed they were acting in my interests as their client. Quite the opposite, it often felt as though they were working against me.

Such a great people working there. I wish all of the places will be like that. I was in contact with lovely Jill, she was always very kind and happy to answer my questions. Tony was giving me a house tour, you can see he loves his job and he is very good at it. Highly recommend using this company to everyone who is seeking a great experience.

Excellent service, Jacqui always goes the extra mile. Jacqui is great at communication which can be the most frustrating part for a buyer. She speaks to people and feeds back to us, making us feel a little more involved and in control. Can't speak highly enough of the team at the Glenrothes branch. Moving house can be very stressful, but they were with us every step of the way. We was very impressed by their professionalism and reassuring attitude throughout the process. We were regularly updated and an offer on the house was agreed after just 4 weeks and formalised a week later. Going into the office was always a pleasant experience. Everyone was so nice and we felt part of the family. Don't like singling anyone out, but a special thanks to Andrena, Douglas and both Jacquis. Also thanks to Tony [who we never met] for conducting the viewings. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending these guys.

Not supportive of owners

As a reluctant landlord I feel that I have to advise against using SSH Shawlands as agents. Having rented out my property through them twice, ive seen that property damaged twice and have never been able to recover any of the costs from the deposit. My tenants were to check out without a report being issued...but chargęd for and evidence of damage being supplied. Its been very disheartening to have to write this, I wish better for others

Extremely happy 1st time buyer

As a first time buyer with very little knowledge of how the processes worked, I couldn't recommend Susanne Mclaughlan from Slater Hogg Mortgages enough. She was incredibly helpful in explaining in simple terms how mortgages, purchasing and the various legal elements all worked. And in the end she helped secure me a great mortgage and worked very quickly to meet deadlines we faced from other parties. Second house we have sold with Slater Hogg, the staff are so friendly and very patient, any questions we had they answered them and put us at ease. They do there best to get the most for you and they update you daily. we spoke with most off the staff and they are all lovely and made this transition very easy for us. I would definitely go with Slater Hogg again and I would Highly recommend them.

Awful from start to finish

Awful from start to finish. Arranged to view a property, arrived and waited but no one showed up. Called the office and was told that someone was off sick and that’s why I’d been stood up. Was asked to wait whilst their branch manager Pam drove up to do the viewing. She arrived and immediately started to explain why I was lucky she was there since she’d hurt her back. She then went on to describe the property as needing decorating and a new kitchen. But joy of joys there’s a brand new flat packed gloss white kitchen in the shed waiting to be fitted she says. I wasn’t allowed to go into the sheds and so took her word for it. They listed the house as having a driveway but the opening is 1.2meters wide and so the property doesn’t have a drive, I can get access as long as my neighbour doesn’t build a gate in her front garden. This is a massive breach of CPRs and would constitute a misdescription case. They have sold me a piece of land that doesn’t belong to me, what the hell do I do now?? When I took ownership I opened the shed to take out my new kitchen only to find that it’s a second hand filthy, and I do mean filthy with other peoples cooking grease and mould, collection of used and broken cabinets and a couple of lengths of worktop. To top it all off it had been left out in the rain at some point and the edges are blown. Bloody useless and has cost me £5k to rectify. I asked them repeatedly for information about the kitchen throughout and they refused to provide it. Richard was rude, patronising and difficult. Pam was no where to be seen. Olga was pleasant to speak to. I would not want to buy from them again, what a horrible place. They also put a mega press on for me to speak to their mortgage advisor who apparently charges £600 which is ridiculous when first mortgage up the road are free to use. This review relates to the Falkirk branch of slater Hogg estate agency

I just had a call from some kind of…

I just had a call from some kind of Slater Hogg rep today and follow up texts asking me to phone urgently so I could get mortgage advice. I decided I'd give it a try. I'm in Fife and got someone with a London accent who had no idea about my circumstances. It felt like phishing to be honest and it involved really idiotic questions about my renting my property out (I'm literally not and never have intended to) and how many bedrooms I'm looking for (even though I have my offer for my new place accepted as of a week ago). Really bizarre. It was like someone who is cosplaying as a fortune teller trying to get answers from you by widely guessing at circumstances and past. I'd not use this company again tbh.
