A great service at Bognor

A great service at Bognor, with great leadership. In particular, we are extremely impressed with Sam, a relatively new member of their superb team. He is a great asset to their personalised service. New as he may be to the role, he is the most proactive and communicative estate agent we have ever had the pleasure of working with on our case. We have moved 8 times in 50 years, and he is the best there is. He remains aware of customers plight, and engages every skill in selling our property.Despite having our first offer withdrawn on health grounds, Sam continued his efforts to find another buyer aware of our needs in moving out of area. He remained focussed, maintaining a balance between encouraging and supporting us the vendor, whilst not exerting too much pressure on prospective buyers, till reaching success in getting a second offer on our property. He has an amazing customer focus with a calm, efficient and professional approach, in both his personal presentation and his work. He works long and hard hours in pursuit of a successful outcome for vendor and buyer alike, and his timely communication during contract process is much appreciated. He is so interested in what he does and his positivity is refreshing and encouraging all the way.

False Promises...Fareham Branch

Everything started really positively with lots of promises about how fantastic they are, how they work differently to other local agents and how they fully assess a buyer before accepting an offer.Cut to what actually happens...The number of viewings was brilliant and after two weeks we accepted an offer. At which point we assumed everything was in hand. We appointed conveyancers and got the ball rolling. In the meantime we found a house, put an offer in and the agent called Fox & Sons Fareham to confirm the chain. THEY NEVER DID. We lost out on the property as they didn't have the time to confirm the chain. This got us wondering WHY they didn't confirm the chain and upon calling them they advised that our buyer was popping in with her ID... two and a half weeks after we accepted the offer. It's worth remembering that their sales pitch is that they fully assess a buyer before accepting an offer...they hadn't even identified her!We then queried this with Fox & Sons and the mortgage advisor told me that they had called the buyer the day previously but they didn't answer. In the same morning the Branch Manager spoke to my wife who stated that they spoke to the buyer yesterday and they had validated the mortgage. A complete lie.We pulled our house off the market as none of their promises came to life. The Branch Manager even had to be chased to reply to an email to confirm they had taken the property off of the market.Fox & Sons are not worth the extra money to other agents, you do not get more for your money so you're better off keeping it in your pocket.

Truly awful

Truly awful. Once they have a buyer for your property they have zero interest in customer service. Don’t reply to emails or return phone calls. In my case they lied about aspects of my sale. Nearly 6 months to complete the sale. Terrible.

Steve delivers on his promises

Selling the house you were brought up in and your parents worked every hour in the day to own and then love for over 45 years is not easy. Luckily Steve, also a local lad from Hampden Park understood this, as well as the my challenges of living remotely, and made sure I was fully supported through the process. I asked for help, I got it, I said comms would need to work around my mother’s care and my NHS work, he said “no problem”. To promise is easy, to deliver is quality.I would have no problem recommending Steve @ Fox & Sons - you couldn’t be in better hands!

Helpful and proactive!

As a Conveyancer I have found Fox and Sons to be extremely helpful and useful through the transactions I have worked with them on. In particular Thomas Barrett has been fantastic to deal with.

Fox & Sons Hastings..

Fox & Sons Hastings... clownsWhere to start with these clowns. Appointed them to sell building land. They took photos of someone else's land that was no where near the property and I had to correct them before they published. In the odd 6-7 months they were marketing, they got a sale, but I barely received any updates unless I phoned them. They never responded to any emails and told me they never received them when I challenged them... ok then, even though I copied three of them every time. When I phoned it went to answer machine sometimes and nobody ever called back or if someone did answer, they would tell me they'd pass on a message, but still never called back. We had a sale at this point, but the builder was messing about. I decided to write a final demand email, so looked on line for the managers email address and low and behold... I've been emailing him all along, Daniel Cotterill. He's a partner and if he cannot be bothered to respond, what chance do you have. I phoned again for the last time before removing them and he answered the phone (caught him) and told him he had two weeks to get the contracts exchanged or they were getting kicked off.Two weeks passed and nothing, so I phoned them again the day before and spoke to someone else, left a message, but still no response/call back. They were dropped three days ago and I sent a scathing email to Fox and Sons Hastings, their head office, backers and IT team. No response, there's a surprise. Don't do it. Do not use these chancers at any cost. They will try to pull you in on an overpriced deal just to get you on the books. Pay more for a better service elsewhere, which to be honest will be everywhere else.Daniel Cotterill... you and your team are a discrace to the industry. How Fox & Sons Hastings are still trading is beyond me and I would put money on this sloppy outfit being out of business within 2 years.

Not even a congratulations or enjoy your new home.

I recently purchased a property with Fox & Sons in Hayward’s Heath and the service was poor. Firstly after enquiring online a number of times to view a property no one returned my calls or emails. My mother called and was lucky enough to finally book a viewing. The viewing went smoothly and the lady who carried out the viewing was good. During the purchasing process the updates from the agent was little to none, the seller and I spoke between ourselves to resolve any matters. On the day of completion no call or email was received from the office and on collection of the keys, they did not ask for my ID or name and happily handed the keys over. Not even a congratulations or enjoy your new home. I think a little bit of customer service training would not be wasted.

After our experience with this company…

After our experience with this company they easily deserve the above rating. We were with them for about about 8 weeks and during that time feedback was near non existent and the quality of photographs was just awful. He tried to push anyone through the door even though they were not interested. He used to say oh I'm just around the corner and I would like to show someone your property. When in fact the property matey was showing them they did not like and he thought oh well I'll chance his luck. However I am to blame because I should have invited 3 agencies and should have not been governed by their low commission.I honestly got what I paid for and that was zilch.UPDATEI sent my concerns to the office concern d and they have now dealt with all issues. However my review stands as this was a very honest account at the time.

We have recently completed on our house…

What a great team of people. Communication has been been excellent. Right from the start of the process Todd, Steve and Tom have been fantastic. Special mention for Tom as he was always available to discuss any issues we had. He was honest and very reliable. He always seemed to go above and beyond, chasing all the relevant people, getting the information we needed to feel reassured. It has been a pleasure to have Tom managing our house sale and we would highly recommend Fox and Sons to anybody wanting to sell their house.

If I could give zero stars I would

Avoid these in Hayward’s Heath. Plenty others that are much better. We received a number of calls promising the world, they did not deliver and they couldn’t even be bothered to keep us updated on our property. We had to chase a number of times to get our property on right move, they were not interested in communicating with us, felt as though they stop trying once we signed up. Regretted it immediately! Sent a complaint in and they refused to refund our cash back for the photographs they made us pay upfront for. Avoid.

Rude, Unprofessional, Untruthful

I asked to view a property. The agent was over 10 mins late. We asked numerous questions, both verbally and in writing. I didn't receive any acknowledgement of the email or any reply. I asked again in writing. Received a response - the majority of the answers bore no resemblance to the truth. I challenged them. They blamed the Vendor. I asked to see the property again, the same agent was 10 minutes late. We asked to walk around the property (without him on our heels the whole time) - he replied 'what can you have to say that you can't say in front of me?' We put in an offer. No response. No acknowledgement. Nothing for three days. We put in another offer. Complete silence. Telephoned and asked to speak the Branch Manager. I was told he would ring me back shortly. Zero response.

This agent is absolutely useless.

This agent is absolutely useless.I had them around to value a property that I was looking to list. They came around and looked but failed to call back with a valuation. They then called a week later to ask if I would like to list it with them. When I advised they had not given me a price, the lady said she would look into it and get back to me.She never did.I am now trying to buy a property they have listed.I had a viewing which they failed to do a follow up call on. When I called them with a question, they said they would call me back, which they failed to do. It then went under offer, but the sale fell through. At this point I thought they may call and say it was back on the market and was I still interested, as you would expect an agent trying to earn a fee to do. No call.Again I had to call them, leaving three messages on the answer phone to tell them I was still interested. None of which they replied to.Having experienced their service from being both a seller and buyer I would advise you to avoid this company.

Shameful customer service and poor performance to match

A great sales pitch when I first contacted them and they were all over me in responding. After that, the service was absolutely appalling. Messages I left were not answered and there was virtually no communication. I was told that there were about 26 people on their books 'looking for a property like mine'. It seems like they are only interested at the start and then customer service is zero. I rented my flat and for sure will not use this company when I come to sell it. I am not complaining that the flat didn't sell as that is not entirely in their hands but they could at least have communicated and shown some interest in me as a client. They didn't even bother to reply when I wrote to take the flat off the market and gave them polite but honest feedback.I do not know how they remain in business and they certainly won't ever get business from anyone I know.

Highly NOT recommended

Highly NOT recommended, unprofessional! We booked 3 view appointments, they want cancel 2 (when we waiting next to the property). Lady open a front door for us, hands crossed, and she said she haven’t got time for it. We ask for try the boiler but they not able to do it. They sent us a letter about the boiler is “good working order” we tried use it on a moving day but it’s fail. Don’t do hot water or heating. I contact the agent and solicitor to but they not able to repair it because the exchange is done.. I called 3 different gas engineer, they can’t fix it (it cost £60 each) I have to buy a new one ( is around £3000). I called the citizen advice and they offer for me them solicitor because it’s not legal. I ask them to move the rubbish from the property, but they left a lot of in the garage and garden. Broken doors and skirts so I need hire a skip because it’s bigger then my car (£100). But someone removed few radiators and change the bathroom door, its 2 inch bigger than the frame so no chance for close it. Our mortgage advisor left the company, we wait 2 months for the new one... and the new one didn’t do anything for us. She answer 1-2 weeks later and the answer was always “I can’t help for you”.All of these cost £3000 fees!

To be honest one star is too many

To be honest one star is too many. This is a company that does not consider either the vendor or the buyer. All they are interested in is the money they can make themselves. Their terms are that they price your house based on their commission. So they price it high. Then they tell you that the price is too high and they have had offers from a number of interested buyers at a lower rate. You still have to pay commission based on their original evaluation. They also do not allow people to view properties they have on the market unless you have your property on with them to sell. This restricts the offers the vendor could get.We sold a property with them and would never deal with them again. We have tried viewing properties they have on the market. They will not let us as we don’t want them to sell our property.I would suggest that anyone looking to sell their house to use anyone apart from Fox & Sons

shocking service, do not even think of using their broker service

shocking service. DO NOT USE THEIR MORTGAGE SERVICE. We were first time buyers and used their service at eastbourne, after the first appointment when they found a provider we had to literly send all documents and do all the work for them with the mortgage company although they were meant to be doing this as we paid £690! This was because we had the mortgage company contacting us asking why the broker has not been sending the required documents to them even though we had sent them to him. We managed to get back £300 but if i knew how bad the service was we would of just burnt the money. This has put us from even using their buying service, which they didnt even turn up to a viewing we booked once!

Shysters.

Shysters.I put my property on with them as they offerred a good deal so I thought. I now realise they overvalued the property with lots of promises to get me hooked.I even paid a additional cash lump sum up front for enhanced marketing, but my iphone pictures were better than theirs! So we ran for the full 4 months of the contract and they got 4 viewings, so I told them I was going to go elsewhere. this dragged on for a bit and then I confirmed it to them and went to another agent who sold the place in about 4 weeks! So what the hell were Fox and Sons doing all that time! Now however, Foxy want to claim a 1% plus VAT fee from me for their time as they say there were two agents involved! I think Ill let this one go to court to see what a judge thinks as they did NOT achieve this sale and had plenty of opportunity to do so.Only use these guys if there is no one else and spray painting 'FOR SALE' on your fence is not an option!

Nightmare !

This company and their Group, Connells, are stuck in the past - where monthly Sales Figures are the one and only aim, with customers coming a long way down the list of their priorities.Do not touch with a bargepole.!We had cause to formally complain twice during the process of Fox & Sons selling our Mother's house. Since we lived 100 miles away we were totally reliant on their reliability and honesty, both of which turned out to be non-existent.They sound plausible, cheerful and eager to please but behind the facade is poor communication and greed. They will say one thing but the contract you sign is what they will take you to Court for if you don't agree with their performance and fees. These are the threats we got following our genuine complaint. We made the mistake of believing they were acting in our best interests but later discovered they were really acting for the Buyer rather than us, the Seller - and we were paying the Fees , not the Buyer !It's too painful to go through the detail of our saga, just don't hire them. Also be careful you don't hire any other Agent in the Sequence or Connells Group because they are all run from Dunstable with seemingly the same business philosophy - they are obviously out to make money and don't care much about how they get it.Top Tip: If you live in or near the property you are selling don't bother with a high street Agent - you can do it yourself using an online Agent. That way you can make your own decisions about the credibility of the Buyer. Plus avoid high Agents fees. Do your own viewings, plus make sure you ask for everything to be in writing to your Solicitor once you find a Buyer. There may be good Agents out there but other than viewings I can't see that they offer anything else that you can't do yourself.

I Would Not Recommend this Company

Basic initial sale services were fine but after an offer was accepted contact deteriorated significantly to the point where I had to constantly chase the office for any updates and push them to obtain information from further down the chain, where there was an issue that needed resolving.I would call the office and ask for an update, I would be promised a call back later that day but wouldn't receive one. This happened several times. In the early stages I also sent a number of emails but not one was even acknowledged let alone answered. I also raised some questions during the course of this process and now post completion there are still some that have not been answered.Where most houses are sold via various internet sites it is the post offer acceptance service that is important. You rely on your estate agent to gather information, answer queries and push the sale through, after all you are normally paying a significant sum for this service and the problem solving skills of the staff involved. Unfortunately this service was missing completely. Ironically I actually received a better service from the estate agent that sold us our new property, a company that I didn't have to pay anything to!
