If you are looking at moving, start here! Everyone I spoke to was so polite, friendly and professional. It can be quite stressful trying to find a new place, but the ladies I have spoken with make it so much easier. From responding within 5 minutes to my first email, calling back when they say and viewing at a time that suited me! I had dealt very briefly with another estate agency that honestly couldn’t have cared less. These ladies obviously love what they do and it shows. Ruby especially, is an absolute delight to talk to and nothing seems too much trouble!

Our home

We let this company manage our property. It was newly painted, carpeted and with a brand new kitchen and now it is a disaster zone in need of complete renovation. We had a no pet policy in the house and this was clearly not upheld. I just wish I could add more photos to this review.

Didn’t receive applications

Found the perfect flat with them, good price and location. Went for a viewing, were really happy with it, and were told we would be sent applications. I was sent one a couple of days late, but my partner was not sent one at all. We both rang and emailed all week to ask for this to be sent over but it never was. I then rang today to find out that the property was no longer available and we couldn’t even fully apply.

I personally believe this letting agency only selects British nationals to let there properties because why would I apply to more than 8 properties and got none when I clearly work full time earn more than enough and not get a property. AVOID!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Please AVOID this company. I am a disabled individual and they have treated me with complete and utter disrespect and are now trying everything to get every penny from me. Our landlord was texting us personally saying one thing and the estate agent texting us another thing which caused a lot of stress and upset. The workers in the huddersfield office and rude, cannot communicate properly and quite frankly cannot seem to add their maths up properly! Please do yourselves a favour and avoid this corrupt and awful company.

The woman I had to deal with at their Norwich branch spent more time moaning to me about how busy they all were, before quickly switching from “you may need a guarantor” to “you will need a guarantor” & refused to offer a viewing on the property I was enquiring about before deciding to lecture me about the fact that for insurance purposes, landlords need a form referencing. While she was actually correct, I failed to see why she decided to tell me this when I never gave any indication that I objected to being referenced in the first place. It would be splendid if someone could tell her that she’s not the only person on the entire planet who is busy. We’ll all busy, I’m busy too. We all have lives to lead & jobs to hold down & we don’t have time to deal with - who is clearly a tea lady posing as an agent - “agents” who can’t decide as to whether a potential tenant might need a guarantor or who does need a guarantor. If she worked for me, she’d be flipping burgers in McDonalds. She’s a disgrace to the firm & she needs firing.You would expect this behaviour from some multi-national energy company who outsource their customer service operators - who can barely speak English - to third world countries so they can get away with paying them 0.01 rupees a year, but for a professional regulated organisation, I’d expect better. ….& in 3,2,1 “ Hello TheHonestPrussian, we are sorry to learn that you were not satisfied with the service provided by a Martin & Co office. Gets worse and worse

My local office gets worse and worse by the year. Since using them almost three years ago now, four members of staff have left. One in particular was very rude and stuck up. She was conversing with the management company behind our backs, slagging us off. Very unprofessional. The new staff are useless morons who don't seem to do anything and can't even reply to emails. The person in charge seems to do everything and can't even be bothered to send us the rest of the tenancy agreements. Every time something needs doing we have to keep ringing them or visiting them. They're a joke.

Really smooth and pleasant experience with Liam Jefferies recently - super down-to-earth and honest guy, which are fantastic qualities for an estate agent to have, who seamlessly got us through the viewing and application process for our new place without delay. He made an extra effort to accommodate for an error in our own judgement, which was he was under no obligation to do, but incredibly helpful that he did, and that has in turn kept us out of a lot of bother!

They took out the competitive pressure, giving us a more relaxed approach to finding a home - which in this climate is hard to believe. We viewed a house to rent with Martin & Co on a Wednesday, and by Thursday the next week our references had been approved and we had been given a moving in date! Amazing service from them, no problems at all. The gentleman who showed us around the property was polite and gave us all the information we needed to make a decision, he was honest about the property and answered all our questions.
