We are looking to relocate to norfolk area so whilst spending a week there we called into the fakenham branch of Sowerbys Estate Agents. We found both ladies ( Abbie & Pauline)we spoke too professional and took time to listen too our specific requirements. We viewed 2 properties with Abigail who arrived on time & gave us information not only of the properties but of local areas which was very beneficial to us. Last year was a bit of a whirlwind for us. We put our house on the market in the spring and sold very quickly. We were able to find a property reasonably quickly and our purchase was overseen by Lorna at the Fakenham branch of Sowerbys. Having not been through the buying and selling process for many years, a lot of things had changed and we felt quite overwhelmed at times. Lorna was very approachable and supportive throughout the process (albeit via email mainly as we moved counties and just popping in wasn’t an option) and I am happy to say we moved in to our lovely home just before Christmas. It didn’t seem to matter how silly my questions were about the process, Lorna would always come back to me. I would also like to give Julian a mention as he always stepped into Lorna’s shoes if she was unavailable. Thank you both so much for helping us realise our dream. Can’t wait for the Spring so that we can start making lots more new memories in the beautiful County of Norfolk.

My wife and I have been purchasing a property in Sculthorpe through Sowerbys at Fakenham since last September. Very sadly, just before contract exchange, we withdrew from the purchase due to an unexpected last minute planning issue that in no way was the fault of Sowerbys or the vendors and came completely out of the blue. Throughout the purchase our transaction was handled by Abigail(Abbie) Tuley. Abbie was very professional and customer focussed and supported us extremely well as purchasers and made sure that our various requests were acted upon promptly. She also kept weekly pressure on our solicitors to make sure that things progressed in a timely manner. We would like to thank Sowerbys for the support we have received over the last 4 - 5 months and whilst things didn't work out this time, hopefully they will be able to find us our dream home some time in the near future.

In general a very good experience in purchasing a straight forward property. Katie looked after us very well and handled a 'less than enthusiastic' vendor with fortitude. Rachel in lettings (Dereham) did an excellent job in renewing the tenancy agreement with the sitting tenant. I did have occasion to speak with other members of the Fakenham office; Julian was always helpful but other individuals less so. I have awarded 5 stars as the main contacts, Katie and Rachel, were faultless. Thank you for getting us over the line, albeit, thanks to the vendor, a day late!

I just wanted to give my honest opinion on this company and how I was dealt with today. I was extremely late to make payment for the property this month as I received no invoice, reminders or texts until yesterday evening. This is not acceptable on my part, I agree but I light reminder would surely offer some justification for the way I was spoken to. Yesterday evening, I confirmed I would pay and then midday today, I had the most unwelcoming call from Sophie threatening to issue my notice and end my tenancy! This was the second time they had made contact all month! One being yesterday and the first today yet I was being spoken to like I had defaulted on all my payments and ignored them for years. That's all I need after the situation I have been through with this company. I was promised at least a 2 year tenancy in this property and after buying and ordering the furniture and internet, I was told by the owner it is being sold. Now I dealt with this very amicably and accepted that it was not my property and so ultimately the final say did not fall on me. You can't imagine the stress I went through, cancelling things and franticly trying to find something else to move into within a few months! The agreement we had was totally violated and seeing as I had confirmed with the husband I could stay another year only three days before that call to say it was sold, I think I handled it pretty well! Shockingly unprofessional and outright rude attitude from Sophie chasing the payment today, nobody under any circumstances should be spoken to like that and especially considering the circumstances. It's unnecessary to speak to customers like that, regardless, it's unnecessary to speak to anyone that like.

i honestly can’t speak highly enough of james at sowerbys. sure he was professional, but more than that he was friendly, polite and empathised with the sad circumstances surrounding my sale. he seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the property, advising me helpfully all through the process giving me pointers along the way and was always there to answer any questions i had. james didn’t seem like an agent trying to sell a property, but more like a friend helping a friend to do something he didn’t know how to do properly. i feel like i could go on for a long time praising james and sowerbys. maybe i should have just said 10/10. but to be honest and i know it doesn’t work like that, but i feel a review of james should be more than 10/10

I've dealt with Sowerbys on several occasions, predominantly for viewing properties, and with every interaction they've demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism. Queries are answered promptly, calls are returned swiftly and staff have gone above and beyond to accommodate my requests, often at short notice. Estate agents are often subject to a bad rap, but Sowerby's genuinely are a complete breath of fresh air! Both Milly at their Fakenham office, and Louie at their Dereham branch deserve a special mention.

I popped in to Fakenham office on behalf of a friend moving to the area, I didn't have an appointment and forgot my mask!! No bother, Katie gave me a mask and welcomed me in. She was very helpful and informative and took down the list of requirements needed for the new home my friend is looking for, there are quite a few!! I'm not usually minded to leave feedback unless I'm really impressed with someone or something.  In this case it was the service provided by Jack from the Fakenham office which deserves mention.   At a recent viewing, he was incredibly courteous, positive, enthusiastic and friendly, without being overly familiar - he was sociable yet professional. He's also very pro-active and is great on client liaison and follow-up. I was in estate agency a few years back and can genuinely say that Jack is a great asset to Sowerbys.
