We instructed Kirsten Wickham/Knights to handle the purchase of new built home and found her to be very professional and easy to communicate with. Everything involving the purchase was explained very well, and she also spent a bit of time talking me through a few specific concerns I had in the early stages of the transaction. We were delighted with the service…

We were delighted with the service which we received from Amanda Paardekooper and her team. Using the Specialist Conveyancing service gave excellent results. The procedure was a fairly simple one, ie adding a name to our house Deeds. So pleased that Amanda gave us all the advice we needed, ensuring that we talked to the right people. Advice was given in a friendly, helpful manner and nothing was too much trouble throughout the whole experience. Needless to say, there was a delay in receiving the final documents, but we had been warned about this in advance! Fast resolution of complicated issue.

Hannah Page and her colleagues at Knights resolved a complicated deed transfer for my Father and I, in a very acceptable time frame. At the very beginning, I was informed that Hannah was the 'specialist' in the kind of issues I would experience. A visit to the Knights' office for a face-to-face meeting, where everything was explained, proved very useful. I was then kept fully informed along the way so knew exactly where Knights were in the process, and if they were waiting for input from an external source. Overall, very pleased with the service provided and will probably use Knights again.

The easy way to buy a house

We have recently bought a house, the process for which is complex and confusing. We were lucky enough to be represented at Knights by Rachel Byles, who's guidance and support were outstanding. Her explanations of the process and it's often confusing requirements were clarity itself and her patience with our many enquirys exemplary. There was never a moment when we thought we were not being well served, or that she was not proceeding with matters as quickly as she could. Professional Standards Fell Short When It Mattered

I instructed Knights for two significant family matters over 2022-2023, paying over £60,000 in legal fees. Originally they estimated about £20k. While the legal work was competent, the way they handled billing and debt collection was deeply disappointing. After informing them in June 2023 that I could no longer afford to continue due to financial hardship, I later disputed a final invoice. Despite four separate requests over several months for an itemised breakdown - standard professional courtesy - Knights refused to provide one until I was forced into court proceedings. The itemised bill was eventually provided within court papers. This meant litigation was necessary simply to obtain information I was entitled to as a client. Following judgment, I received no written notification and proactively contacted both Knights and the Court trying to establish payment details. Despite this, High Court Enforcement was instructed, adding £414 to a £968 dispute. For a firm that had already been paid £60,000+, pursuing aggressive debt collection against a client who had clearly communicated vulnerability and was actively trying to pay felt unnecessarily punitive. I expected better from a firm of Knights' standing. If you're considering instructing them, get fixed quotes in writing and monitor costs closely - mine tripled from the original estimate.

Summary: Excellent service as always. Another property transaction completed efficiently and effectively by Jamie and his team. Thank you all so much (including all those behind the scenes who we did not interact with directly). We have used Jamie and the Knights team for all family property transactions over the last decade and would not go anywhere else. The speed at which everything gets done is particularly impressive. Experience has shown me that the Knights team is never the bottleneck in the transactions. Buying or selling, we have always been the ones on the front foot, thanks in no small part to how effectively Jamie and his team work. Jamie is always highly responsive. I do not remember ever having to wait even as much as 24 hours for a response and his manner always fills me with utmost confidence. Knights were able to step in after we were let down by previous solicitors 6 weeks into our purchase. Our solicitor Sarah-Louise was informative, friendly, helpful and communicative throughout and she managed to get us over the line by Christmas despite the initial delays by the previous solicitor. Fee wise it is much more expensive than other companies hence 4 stars not 5, but in fairness we got a very good service and timely completion was the end result. Would highly recommend
