I recently contacted Francis Louis about a property I was interested in. A girl called Lilly helped me arrange a viewing for the same day. Not only that she recommended other properties I hadn’t even considered. She went above and beyond to help which was a refreshing change from other estate agents I contacted who didn’t even get back to me. Buying houses is so stressful and Lilly made it so much easier and I felt really supported.

I went for a viewing for bright house in Bournemouth town centre today. I arrived at the viewing and the agents was 20 minutes late and I ended up on a viewing with 3 other people. There was a large studio advertised which is what I booked to view. Little did I know this is not what I would be viewing. I was shown studios half the size and still occupied meaning I couldn’t take pictures or videos as it would have people’s personal belongings in, which is fine by me. I was hugely unimpressed with the whole handling of this process and I didn’t even get to view that flat I requested as this had already been let despite being up and available for viewings. I was also advised by a tenant that the windows to the building didn’t open and there was no fan above the cooker, this is a huge health hazard. I would not recommend this company or this building to anyone.

Lilly was there to help me, she listened and understood with great patience. By the time I left I was looking forward to the next chapter in my life full of reassurance and excitement.

Tom was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. He was professional, approachable, and always quick to respond to any questions we had, no matter how small. He kept us fully updated at every stage and made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and manageable. A special thank you as well to Adam, the director, whose support and expertise really stood out. It was clear from the outset that he genuinely cares about his clients and takes pride in delivering a high level of service. His guidance and reassurance gave us complete confidence that we were in safe hands. GoogleWe sold our house with them last year, we only went with them because they sold us the house and we thought they knew what they were doing. We were given a new member of staff who clearly had no supervisor as Adam, the owner was shocked to discover she hadn’t disclosed that her partner would potentially be doing building work for the buyers. We felt like they were acting in the best interests of the buyers the whole way through the process, not as our paid representatives. Communication was poor, we had one viewing, had to settle for under our asking price, and had to ask our agent to stop sharing personal information with potential buyers. When we complained to Adam he was initially very rude until he realised he had no idea what was actually going on with his own staff. He said he would help get the sale sorted quickly but we still had to chase him. Fees were unnecessarily high for the worst service I’ve ever experienced when buying or selling a property. Highly recommend using someone else, what we experienced was a series of serious issues that aren’t likely to be a one off.

GoogleThat was the worst experience with renting! Firstly, they takes ages to reply to your requests. After I moved in what was advertised as a new flat (I was living in a cluster, ensuite+common kitchen) that looked pretty nice. But, the moment I moved in, there was no mirror installed in a bathroom, everything was dirty after construction work. I've been told it's gonna be cleaned, but it wasn't. Then our flat had to wait for almost 2 weeks for a microwave! And a week for a rubbish bin, madness. What's more horrible there were people from construction team coming again and again in the flat, they were also coming into rooms (to check smth) without previous notice and very early, which is unacceptable. What's more unacceptable is that was happening quite often. What drove us even more crazy was the lift breakage. We've communicated the issue multiple times, but nothing has been done. Then they said there will be professionals to fix it. Of course nobody came. 2 months later lift hasn't been fixed. The biggest problem was to access communal laundry, as there no direct way with stairs, so without lift it was very complicated to do a laundry. I had to terminate my contract,messaged Amy regarding my next steps. It tool some time to get response. I've chosen option with paying £300 and finding a replacement tenant. I did tell her that there's a person who would like to take this place and I'm happy to pay the fees. Until the day I moved out there were NO STEPS made to the contract. On the day of my moving out I had to pay £360 instead of £300, because she made a typo in her email and gave me wrong information. Absolutely not okay, why do I have to pay more because of someone's mistake? The person who was taking over the flat has only managed to move in after a few days since the promised day of move in. Since there were so many failures in the flat I asked for a compensation and the only response I got was: oh, landlord doesn't want to pay any compensation. So it means landlord can just leave the issues with the flat, but still makes tenants paying full price. Horrible treatment of tenants, agency takes ages to process request and always talk to you in a demandful way and trying to blackmail you. Don't ever sign the contract with them even if the property seems very appealing.

Francis Louis is an awful company. They refused to return my entire deposit. They refused to return money that I overpaid them on a water bill. One of the partners, Adam Friend, threatened me with legal action after I told him that I was filing a claim with DPS and small claims court to have my money returned. After months of headaches dealing with rude, dismissive, and sometimes threatening emails from Adam, he eventually returned my money after receiving notice of the small claims court and DPS claim that I had opened against them.

We decided to retry with Francis Louis (without having works completed) and they supported us to market our slightly unusual property with honesty and sensible decision making to achieve a sale. GoogleI had a very disappointing experience with Francis Louics’ team, particularly with Adam. From the beginning, his attitude was rude and unwelcoming, which made the whole process uncomfortable. The most frustrating part was the handling of my deposit. After moving out, I was accused of damaging the property, which is simply not true. I took clear video evidence both before moving in and after moving out, and the condition was the same. Despite this, my deposit was not returned, which feels completely unfair and unjustified. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and questionable handling of the deposit have left me extremely dissatisfied. I would not recommend this agency to anyone looking to rent a property.

Google1 star is being extremely generous. The worst letting agency you will ever rent with. Do not rent with them as they will make your life miserable. I rented with them at Beaufort House and for around the first three months there was ZERO furniture in the building except for a bed in the room. They did not provide us with a table, chair, wardrobe, bedside table or any of the basic necessities you would expect to have in a furnished property and all of which were promised in the contract. They also did not have Wi-Fi or an operational laundry room for the first three months which made living there borderline impossible. Any attempt to get these issues resolved was met with arrogance, incompetence and an extremely rude and unhelpful team, specifically Amy, Jamie and the boss Adam. I had workers enter my room while I was sleeping without even knocking or without providing any notice. Whatever you do, do not rent with Francis Louis for your own sake. Out of desperation and a lack of alternatives last minute in the city centre, I made the mistake of renting with them for a second year and the room that they gave me was absolutely disgusting. You can see the state of the room in the media attached to this review but unfortunately it does not reflect just how dirty and unfit for moving in the room was.

We are today completing on the purchase of a property from Francis Louis. I would highly recommend the agency as they have assisted throughout the whole process, kept in contact at every stage and helped push for a completion before Christmas, which is fantastic. Huge thanks to Olivia for getting the deal agreed and all her hard work on the sale and also Adam who assisted in getting the property through to exchange. Thank you !
