untrustworthy chancers

We had our placed valued and on the market with another agent. Barnard Marcus wrote to me to say they had a cash buyer specifically interested in our property. We varied our contract with another agent to allow for joint agency so we could contract with Barnard Marcus. After the contract was signed they ignored me for two weeks. There was no interested buyer. Fine, I fell for the oldest trick in the book, but as far as I'm concerned that's just dishonesty. They lied. Worse, they ignored us and had terrible customer service. Plus they got loads of details on the online listing wrong. I cancelled the contract during the cooling off period and I had to hassle them for several days (after the cancellation) to remove the listing. Unethical. Now, some brash bozo in their Southampton head office keeps badgering me on the phone. When I said I didn't have time to speak he rudely hung up. Needless to say, I don't recommend them.

During our hunt to find a place to buy we found a great place in Epsom and gave Barnard Marcus a call. Viewings were arranged immediately with subsequently two more viewings accommodated that fitted around our schedule. Professional and friendly from start to finish, everybody was always welcoming and they even gave us a little gift on completion which was a lovely touch. Our first viewing was organised with Nasim Talsi who was knowledgeable and able to answer any queries we had whilst viewing and didn’t rush as at all. During our property search we of course approached other estate agents and on a few occasions felt the service was lacking with many “I’ll get back to you” answers. Not the case at all with Nasim and we felt he was really eager and engaging. He’s a credit to your branch.

The Barnard Marcus team have been helping us to sell our property and to buy a new home. The team have been exceptional throughout. Dan, Izzie, Charlotte and Naz have all helped with the selling process. At our initial meeting with Dan and Izzie, they were very understanding of our personal circumstances and requirements. We particularly appreciated how efficient they were throughout the process. The turnaround for each step in the process could not have been quicker and there were no delays. We had full confidence in them all to deliver a successful sale, which gave us a lot of peace in what is usually a stressful process. In addition, the team kept us updated regularly and were always proactive in ensuring that we had a number of viewers. Thanks to their help we were able to sell our house in c.3months, which was essential due to personal circumstances. I would also like to specifically mention Carolyne who has been providing mortgage advice to me from the branch. The help and support she has provided has been both invaluable and crucial in buying our next home. She is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable in this field. Her friendliness and understanding towards personal circumstances and requirements has been especially appreciated. I have always felt in safe hands and not once been concerned about such crucial decisions. I was expecting the buying process to all be quite stressful, but thanks to Carolyne, the process has been clear, seamless and enjoyable. For the entire team, I’ve been particularly impressed by their professionalism and pace at which they work. We have always felt prioritised and could not have asked for a better experienced. When it comes to such major life decisions such as buying and selling property, it’s crucial to be with the right estate agents. I can say with confidence that the Barnard Marcus Epsom team are beyond outstanding in their field and are an example to all of what credible, reliable and efficient estate agents are. The Epsom area is fortunate to have them.

Never use them to let your flat out they lie about tenants they are putting in

Used by my fellow homeowner & friend in our small block of flats . They lied to her told her a professional woman in her 40’s they had lined up to rent her flat . Absolute rubbish the woman that moved in very young here on family reunion visa no hate but they lied . There is now 3 adult men , that young woman & her new baby living up there in a tiny 1 bedroom flat . Noisy , other issues. I’ve complained to Bernard Marcus as a homeowner in same small block . TOTALLY IGNORED . Do not ever use them to manage your home as a rental - ever! Liars who do not care . They will know exactly the property I’m writing about in Chiswick . Near Gunnersbury station . Never bothered to address my complaint or concerns about the amount of people living in that flat with the so called ‘professional’ woman in her 40’s they said they had dealt with before & knew. Liars . The owner is trying to remove them - I hope she sues Bernard Marcus for their deceit and complete unprofessional behaviour . I will definitely back her up 100% .

I’ve recently had a great experience with Barnard Marcus Epsom. From the moment I walked into the branch and spoke with manager Dan, right through to completion, everything has been absolutely spot on. Due to my personal circumstances, I needed to move quickly on a flat purchase, everyone completely understood this and did everything possible to make my flat purchase happen in good time. Dan was sharp, on the ball and knew exactly what I needed, right from the start. Izzie handled my viewings, she was so nice, really personable and always super efficient at all times, even quickly answering some questions I had after completion. Lois & Charlotte were also involved in my purchase, they too were also super helpful and efficient. Calls and emails to questions were always returned quickly and everyone at the branch I spoke to was pleasant and helpful at all times. The solicitors recommended were also very good. I’ll be honest, I’ve had some shocking experiences with estate agents in the past, so it’s massively refreshing to be treated so well in this instance.

We had already been on the market for over a year, and none of the other Estate Agents we had tried would sell the Share rather than 100%, nor had they been successful.
