Incompetent! The sale of my property was poorly handled from the moment I recieved an offer. The managing director of the branch was extremely unpleasant to deal with and a bully. The sales progressor had no idea what was going on at any stage of the transaction regularly giving me wrong information. There was no duty of care for my best interests. Avoid them at all costs.

Rosalie Kurton... a true Super Agent!

How do you describe the effort of a single individual in a few words? I cannot emphasise the gratitude that I have for Rosalie Kurton. She is the SINGLE reason that I am a homeowner today. Unfortunately, Douglas Allen and my solicitor J.S LAW have failed to keep me well informed or up-to-date over the past few months and in particular the last two weeks of my purchase. Rosalie however, was the ONLY person who ALWAYS answered my calls and replied to my e-mails. She would call my solicitor and my local branch regularly to keep escalating my queries on my behalf. Where others failed to maintain professionalism and lacked enthusiasm, Rosalie was able to keep both her and my head above the water at all times. On occasions, I had almost given up on the sale and decided to take my custom elsewhere. It was her persistence and hard-working ethic that led to the completion of this purchase. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you and your help is highly appreciated. I am still struggling to answer the question: How do you thank someone who helps you buy your home?

Douglas Allen in East Ham fraudulent sale on 8 Victoria Avenue and 41 Burges road

Douglas Allen in East Ham is terrible. Member of staff Hassan wasted my 6 months and begged me to give him multiple online false reviews. 41 burgers road I made an offer of 500k but he said vendor refused. After he has checked my deposit funds and my mortgage offer was ready but he still forced me to use he’s broker Mr Faisal Noor in East Ham branch. He made me resubmit all my documents with he’s broker made me waste all that time. I thought to my self long as I get the property 41 Burges road for 500k Ill go threw the hassle again and let the East Ham branch make a bit of money on mortgage sale. But after all that hard work Hassan sells the property 41 burges road for 500k to some one els on normal mortgage sale. I strongly believe he has sold the property to he’s close person. Then he has promised me I’m on the priority list in East Ham branch soon as a property comes in my requirement he will be in touch. But again another property came on the market 8 Victoria Avenue which the property is worth 500k but he sells this property not on cash not on auction but again on a normal mortgage sale under value for 415k to he’s family member. That property was never advertised to public only time he put it up in right move wen it was marked sold. So he has fraudulently stole 85k of this property. They have all of my documents in file this property should’ve been sold to me after what he done on the sale on 41 burges road. Wen I asked him all this he didn’t like it. So I’m taking them to court. 8 Victoria Avenue should’ve been sold to me. Guys be careful of this Douglas Allen East Ham branch they take customer all documentation of funds and then ignore and try’s to sell the rubbish property. All the good profitable ones they sell it to there friends and family.

Although DA didn’t sell our house in the end, their service was fantastic. Manager Liam was enthusiastic, reassuring and happy to be contacted at any time if we had a query. Jack & Lisa who were dealing with the sale both showed genuine interest in selling the property and made sure they knew about the house so they were able to pass this on to potential purchasers. I sold my house in January this year through Douglas Allen Woodford Branch. Stephen Ford handled the sale from the start and throughout the process to completion. The buyers were first timer; a bot slow and pedantic. Stephen was an excellent professional in guiding both parties to speed up the process. Towards the end the buyers were a bit niggly and Stephen offered to go a put sealant to remedy the problem over the weekend as I lived in Nottingham. He went the extra mile in concluding this sale. easy transaction, made selling a house feel very easy with no hassle. first met Douglas Allen Chadwell heath office manager Michelle, who came to value my property which was one of the more expensive properties in the area, Michelle tailor made a bespoke marketing for my 5 bedroom property which worked a treat. we had received multiple offer within 3 weeks of marketing . Hasan had conducted all the viewings with covid precautions yet up sold the property to every viewer. we got an above asking price offer which they had negotiated and allowed me to get £10,000 more then the asking price. i cant thank Michelle & Hasan enough , highly recommend Douglas Allen chadwell heath office

This review is for Linda O’Donnell at the Walthamstow branch, she was amazing with our house move and chain of 5! Yes a chain of 5, which she kept us completely informed with and upto date. Linda went the extra mile to help us complete our sale and purchase, she chased like crazy, called us and emailed with all communication along the chain. And when people threatened to pull out she was there calming and guiding the chain to completion. She was a complete trooper and we have her to thanks for helping us get it all done in time. I must say I was a complete ball of anxiety, stress and she managed to keep me in some sort of order. Props to her because she also went through our stress and anxiety with us. Here’s hoping she still wants to do her job after working with us 😂Highly recommend if you are selling/purchasing through DA at Walthamstow that you request Linda!

I found the East Ham branch to be a bit…

I found the East Ham branch to be a bit of a nightmare and somewhat manipulative, first Maureen was really charming, and I realised later pumped me for info, about the lowest price I would take and saying fixed fees that turned out to be without VAT and to have all sorts of other charges added on. So fees were way more expensive than I had thought l. On the plus side they did get a buyer really fast, before they even advertised in on line and I was stupid enough to say yes at the bottom line which was represented to be the the buyer having scraped together every penny they could. (That turns out not to be quite right as they are going to remodel the house their surveyor told me)If you agree a fixed fee they work for the person buying to secure the sale and not for you. And they will put pressure on you to meet unreasonable demands even after you ah e formally said no via your solicitor rather than point out to the buyers that they are asking for things never normally done and only days before exchange and completion. In hindsight I would never again use this firm and have real concerns about the ethics of someone who isn’t up front about fees, hides the VAT and additional charges until you get the paperwork with small print and who is open about advertising at inflated price so that buyers feel they are getting a bargainAvoid fixed fees and they might actually work for you

More than just an estate agent

We bought our house through Douglas Allen, and it was a very good experience. So a few years on we have sold our house through them as well. As previously, not only are the team in Walthamstow amazing at what they do and really customer centric, Maria, Ben and Ammer are amazing, but the approach to marketing and selling the house is really best in class.Where they really excelled though was the after service. We had an absolutely amazing aftersales/account manager who was with us every step of the way through a sale where various parts of the chain threatened to collapse several times. If it wasn't for this service and Linda, who is such a star, going above and beyond the sale would never have happened and we would have missed out on our onwards purchase.There are plenty of estate agents out there who are transactional and treat clients like numbers. Unfortunately we have had experience of a few. Douglas Allen are the opposite of this. I don't write many reviews online. But having almost lost out on buying the perfect house because of problems down the chain, and seeing all the effort that Linda put into saving our sale, I think it's the least I can do.Thank you Linda and the team at Douglas Allen.

Epping Brilliance

Jack was patient, waited and was charming when I arrived half hour late for my viewing. Thereafter the service from this fantastic team of Jack, Lisa and Liam just got better and better. Every call was returned promptly, every request was responded to professionally. I really felt like they were working for me when I was just the buyer. I hope the vendor reads this and realises how hard they worked to get the property sold at the right price for all. Cannot praise them enough. Is there a 6 I can give them !!!??
