An Angel in disguise

Where do I begin to describe the Heaven send Kaitlin Stoddart.Upon being informed, that my mum had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, I spend time trying to figure out what her dying wish was, so I could give her one final surprise. She told me she would love to live in a big house with myself, my brother and my sister one more time. Keeping in mind we all have families of our own.She was very specific what kind of house she wanted. Detached, Big garden for the grandkids to run, local to the shops and stations, but walking distance from her beloved Epping forest and of course room for all of us.A house with those specifications in Chingford, This was a unattainable task for any Estate agent or so I though. When I came across Douglas Allen, the person I started my contact with was Kaitlin Stoddart. I don't know what to praise, if I stared I would run out of words. but I will try and do her just for what she deserves.Not only did she listen to me whilst I was crying my eyes out about my mothers situation, she was incredibly caring and shed tears hers self, that kind of humanity is found very far and in-between, particular in this toxic world we live in.She took note of all my ridiculous demands and actively tried to find me a property, day in and day out. In all honesty I knew it was impossible to find what I wanted for the budget I had. But Lo and behold, she found it.The very house my mum dreamed about, the house that gave her hope of a better tomorrow, she actually found it, this was a miracle for me, however there was only one problem, the property stopped taking viewings before I could request to do so.Without hesitation Kaitlin spoke to several senior managers and fought my case and managed to get me a a viewing, Upon viewing it, I knew that this was it. Knowing that I couldn't match the current offer, I become disheartened, to be this close and yet so far.But Kaitlin, didn't give up, she knew how much this meant to me, not just the house... but fulfilling my dying mothers last wish. She took time to look into my financial situation and explained that as a chain free buyer I would be more desirable to the sellers and so I went ahead and made and offer.The process was difficult for me, having to take my mum to chemo therapy on a regular basis, and seen the woman I grew to know as indestructible, literally deuterate in front of my eyes, destroyed me.I was so slow to respond, hard to get hold of, emotionally and had many outburst, but yet, despite all, Kaitlin stood besides me through out the process, not only in the matter of purchasing it as my agent, but even a therapist and friend.I wish there where more people like her at the top end of the ladder, if she managed to assist me this much Senior Sales Consultant, Imagine what she could do if she managed the branch.The example she would set for her staff to treat people not just as money bags like many other firms do, just trying to sell, no, but rather bring a human touch to what is a very stressful and demanding situation.Kaitlin If you are reading this... Excellent service from Douglas Allen. Much better than other agents used in the past. Matthew was very professional, polite and helpful. Many viewings were organised very quickly and in a short space of time the property was sold. When the first buyer dropped out they did it all again! Very impressed with the service received. I left the keys with them and they were very careful to leave the property in good order and securely locked. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing Team at East Ham...

I cannot recommend enough the great team at the East Ham branch of Douglas Allen. We were the buyers when using Douglas Allen. All too often in London, the agent only works hard for the seller, not in our case. Maureen and the team worked tirelessly through what was a complicated and tricky sale. There were many occasions where Maureen would be working late into the night and during her days off to ensure that the sale stayed on track. Throughout our journey buying a property, we came into contact with a lot of agents in East London. None were as friendly and professional as Maureen and the team. They all went above and beyond and totally exceeded my expectations.

What a kind and helpful man Nasir at Douglas Allen East Ham is

Although I'm not planning any immediate move, I'm nevertheless interested in keeping track of conditions in East Ham and Beckton, the areas I'm most likely to return to. I therefore decided to call a few of the local estate agents to try and get a general flavour of the current situation.The first three or four agents I spoke to were polite enough, it's true, but it soon became pretty obvious that they weren't really interested in speaking to someone who only MIGHT be coming back to East Ham to live. Then I discovered Nasir at Douglas Allen. His attitude was entirely different. The fact that I was calling about what's only a possible future move seemed not to be of any great importance to him. Not only was he happy to discuss the situation at the moment, but he actually went as far as inviting me to phone him for updates as often as I needed them.If and when I do decide to launch my move back to East London, Nasir is who I'll be calling first, that's for sure!

I just wanted to write a quick review as I have recently bought my first home through Douglas Allen and Jack Spittlehouse was the advisor who actually recommended the property that I ended up buying after carefully taking into consideration my requirements and preferences. He has been really patient as it took me around 6 months and plenty of viewings to find my dream home but I couldn’t thank him enough for putting me in the right direction. Jack has been professional and punctual throughout and always a phone call away to answer all my questions and I now couldn’t be happier! I have recently dealt with Maureen, Hassan and Nasir from the East ham branch. In my experience I have found them to be very friendly, honest and transparent in all our interactions. From the accompanied viewings, to the follow up, they took care and time to diligently capture and address my specific needs. How they conduct themselves professionally, the manner in which I am addressed and their attention to details definitely warrant commending! I sold my house in January this year…

I sold my house in January this year through Douglas Allen Woodford Branch. Stephen Ford handled the sale from the start and throughout the process to completion. The buyers were first timer; a bot slow and pedantic. Stephen was an excellent professional in guiding both parties to speed up the process. Towards the end the buyers were a bit niggly and Stephen offered to go a put sealant to remedy the problem over the weekend as I lived in Nottingham. He went the extra mile in concluding this sale. easy transaction, made selling a house feel very easy with no hassle. first met Douglas Allen Chadwell heath office manager Michelle, who came to value my property which was one of the more expensive properties in the area, Michelle tailor made a bespoke marketing for my 5 bedroom property which worked a treat. we had received multiple offer within 3 weeks of marketing . Hasan had conducted all the viewings with covid precautions yet up sold the property to every viewer. we got an above asking price offer which they had negotiated and allowed me to get £10,000 more then the asking price. i cant thank Michelle & Hasan enough , highly recommend Douglas Allen chadwell heath office

I found the East Ham branch to be a bit…

I found the East Ham branch to be a bit of a nightmare and somewhat manipulative, first Maureen was really charming, and I realised later pumped me for info, about the lowest price I would take and saying fixed fees that turned out to be without VAT and to have all sorts of other charges added on. So fees were way more expensive than I had thought l. On the plus side they did get a buyer really fast, before they even advertised in on line and I was stupid enough to say yes at the bottom line which was represented to be the the buyer having scraped together every penny they could. (That turns out not to be quite right as they are going to remodel the house their surveyor told me)If you agree a fixed fee they work for the person buying to secure the sale and not for you. And they will put pressure on you to meet unreasonable demands even after you ah e formally said no via your solicitor rather than point out to the buyers that they are asking for things never normally done and only days before exchange and completion. In hindsight I would never again use this firm and have real concerns about the ethics of someone who isn’t up front about fees, hides the VAT and additional charges until you get the paperwork with small print and who is open about advertising at inflated price so that buyers feel they are getting a bargainAvoid fixed fees and they might actually work for you

Jack was patient, waited and was charming when I arrived half hour late for my viewing. Thereafter the service from this fantastic team of Jack, Lisa and Liam just got better and better. Every call was returned promptly, every request was responded to professionally. I really felt like they were working for me when I was just the buyer. Great Experience

Jess, James and Kaitlin were brilliant. They provided us with a lot of information from the start, clear communication throughout and also the portal is great to track your viewings, offers, feedback etc. They were very knowledgeae about the market and even helped us by letting us know about other properties that were coming onto the market that could be a fit for us. Fee is on the high side compared to other agents but going with a cheap option isn't always the best idea as we found out prior to working with Douglas Allen.

Great Service through many challenges

She found us a great tenant, and ensured everything was sorted in a timely fashion. When I got to view the property on Bede Road initially, I wasn't interested as such as I felt it's a property that has a lot of demand and I felt like with the competition I would not be able to win the property. I spoke to Waqas after the viewing and he suggested the VIP home finder service to me, a service where I could get into see properties before they hit the online market and he suggested to meet Faisal Noor, the in house mortgage adviser, once I became a member of the VIP service and saw Faisal to work out my maximum affordability, I made an offer on the property and it got accepted the very same day!
