Lie just to get you Off the Phone.

I have had this company for the past 4 years and have always had problems with the customer service rep. first day moving into the property I call the rep requesting assistance with he heater, all she said was "GOOGLE IT". Yesterday my heater broke and British Gas should have been sent to fix the issue. They CS. Rep Lied to us, telling us an appointment was booked and the engineer should be visiting between 9 am to 6 pm. I called this rep 3 times throughout the day to verify the appointment. At 6 pm I call British Gas to ask when this engineer will be passing by, to my horror there was no appointment booked. With a 9-month old child at home, -5 degrees outside, no heating and no hot water. she lied just to get me off the phone. Now I have to wait until Monday to get heat a home. today is Thursday. Avoid this company as all cost.

I have a very bad experience with the…

I have a very bad experience with the letting team and the property management team. They managed my property for four years. since there isn't issue with tenant at the beginning, so they just keep taking my management fee and don't need to do anything. At the third year , tenant started to report boiler not working, it took 6 months for the contractor to get it fixed. Their contractor charged me £500 to replace the heating element 27 Nov 2019 .Provide one year warranty. As it took so long to fixed the problem, my tenant decided to move out in jan2020. The flat was not let out due to covid 19. It was closed up for six months. Then I found a new tenant with another agent. My new tenant only move in a few months and the boiler element break , which is the element that Barstow Eve charge me £500 for. I contacted Barstow Eve begining of Dec 2020 and they insisted that as it is not one of the property they managed , they can't help anymore. They say I need to talk directly with their contractor who fix it. When I spoke to him, he is really irresponsible and said that there is no warranty for his work and blame other factors that cause element to break. My current management agent contractor investigate and told me there is no other factors to cause the elements to burn. It is the poor quality elements itself . I find it very disappointed with the work this contractor done , I find this company very dishonest, overcharged me and provide a substandard elements that only work for six months maximum . Besides that , when my tenant move out , they delay 4 days in carry out the check out for me because of lack of staff and causing me not allow to enter and remarket the property . They say they will charge the four day rental to tenant as tenant has to pay until the day check out is done . Until now , I didn't receive the four days rental as later on they say I need to take tenant to court to claim it back. I am not doing that of course as it is not tenant fault. I left a set of keys for the property management team and they also managed to misplaced it , causing me lots of inconvenience as I need to replace all lock . Never ever trust bairstoweves to manage your property, they only charge you fees and not doing their duty. It will cause you more pain at the end.

Condescending and rude

Scott spoke to me very condescendingly, insinuating I couldn’t afford to purchase the property I wanted to view. He suggested I get back in touch when I secured a mortgage in principle. When I did so he sarcastically said “you’re telling me you’ve secured an agreement in principle already? Since 5pm last night?”. Yes. What’s it to you? Is it so unbelievable to you that I am a motivated buyer with the resources to make a decision quickly? I don’t know how people like him make any commissions. So rude. I’d like to file a formal complaint with Bairstow Eves (I’ll have to find out how) so he doesn’t get away with this kind of rude behaviour. Disgraceful.

Zero stars is a compliment.

Do I really have to give the Beeston branch 1 star? I have 2 houses to sell. They fail to return calls. There rarely seems to be anyone answering calls in the office. Finally I am able to make an appointment for valuations. The valuer decides he would rather do a zoom conference and cancels at the last minute. Reluctantly I make another appointment for the 2 valuations a week later. Nobody turns up,not even a call. I ring the office, nobody answers. I give up. Would the managing director like to contact me,apologise and look into what on earth is going on in this branch.

SHOCKING COMMUNICATIONS! AVOID!

SHOCKING COMMUNICATIONS! We entered negotiations to purchase a property. When communications began it was a relatively normal process with the back and forth conversation between ourselves, the agent and the vendors. After rejecting multiple offers on the same day. We eventually upped our offer again with a reasonable offer which caused the vendor to keep it on the table and only what I can call "stalling" for time. After us constantly chasing we gave the vendor plenty of patience and time to decide only to be fobbed off by the agent with "We can't get hold of the vendor" or "the vendors need to have a conversation". We were promised a decision multiple times on different days only to be left waiting. A few calls to update us out of professional courtesy from the agent would have been sufficient. After a week and a half they finally called and rejected the offer we had on the table only to sell it the same day. It appears they were stalling for a better offer, making us the backup plan. We'd have much rather the transparency and told from the start that our offer would be considered if no better offers came forward. Instead we kept being put off with various excuses which seemed strange at the time. A lot of people would just say that's life, move on which we have. There's plenty more properties out there! However I just wanted someone to know about our unpleasant experience as I wouldn't want others to go through it. Don't get me wrong a lot of the control is in the vendors hands which is fair enough but now I'm inclined to believe the estate agent was also in on it. A carrot on a stick comes to mind.Once again we were made to feel like a backup plan! If we feel this uneasy during negotiations, I don't have much confidence in completing a purchase with them. What happened to honest ways of negotiating and doing business nowadays!?

DO NOT USE. I used them to rent out my property it was agreed 1/2 month payment for finders fee. When I received several hundred pounds less. They had only given me bottom copies to sign tenants agreement etc. I trusted the manager Jason Hatton & lettings agent Freddie Wealand they are both dishonest untrustworthy people. Mr Hatton promised to get me back my £ or he would “pay it out of my own pocket “ yet another lie he simply passed it on to a line manager whom said I signed the documents & tough basically.I was told that their nickname in the agents circle is B’std Thieves not Barstow Eves well that’s a nick name well suited

Truly an awful experience

Truly an awful experience, they got me to sign the contract and even told me to put the utilities into my name, then informed me the current tenants were not leaving. When I asked for my holding deposit back they promised it within 3 to 5 days and on the 6th day I'm still waiting. You'll understand why estate agents have such a poor reputation once you deal with these guys. Avoid at all costs if you value your sanity. Truly awful experience

Expect awful experience with Bairstow Eves

Awful experience dealing with these cowboys as a landlord and my tenant also had a regretful experience with Bairstow Eves.I was pressurized to sign ToB that is not readable, tenants were not properly inducted on the property and had to experience days of electricity blackout due to not informing the tenant on how to manage the electricity payments. Refused to handover my property after 3 terminations of the property management notice.Deducted monies unjustified and illegally from rental income.I have had to refer to them to the property ombudsmanIf you are having any issues with them make a complaint with the property ombudsman to get things right.

GAZUMPING

GAZUMPING! Absolutely unprofessional and disgusting company. The house wasn't even on the market when we got a call to have the first view and we were rushed to offer so if we offer the house doesn't go on the market or at least it has been told. On arrival the Agent couldn't find which house to show so we were circling around for the area for ages trying to find out. We liked the house and made an offer with the full asking price which has been accepted by the seller, then they put the property on the market with "offers over" our accepted offer. Unfair, and disgusting. Do Not trust in them!

Use another estate agent

We thought we sold our flat and then lock down happened. When lock down lifted I push the council etc to get things moving and I have basically done Bairstows job. We then advised they could get in touch with the buyer and to place back on the market. We got two offers one absolutely stupid and the other was accepted then withdrawn because we didnt have a bath. It wasnt there before the offer and I had to chase to get the feed back on that. Then I gave them notice and they said do you still want us to market the flat. Yes I cant go anywhere else for two weeks can I? So I contacted the original buyers solicitors and guess what he is still interested and we should have a final answer to his mortgage issues the 6th of August. So I could have instructed another estate agent and ended up paying double agent fees or worst still lost a buyer.Sorry wouldnt recommend them at all.

Absolute cowboys

wow where do I start! 10 years renting a property through these absolute cowboys. Had 100's of issues with them, finally bought our own house so could get out of the unfit house Bairstow let out. Repairs that are their responsibility take months to fix. Had no oven for 4 months! Landlord didn't sign tenancy agreement but funnily enough it was signed when giving evidence for deposit dispute. We recieved half of our deposit back. They said the house was in near immaculate condition when we moved in and that they couldn't find the check in documents. Luckily we had a copy which proved the house was in no where near immaculate condition when we moved in. Bathroom tiles we die to be replaced not long after we moved in, 10 years later they were never done, yet they tried blaming us for the damage the appalling grout work had caused! We had to endure leaks, broken hobs, leaking taps, mouldy wooden window frames, rotten door frames, grubby stains made before we rented, these things either took months to repair or weren't repaired at all. We went two months during winter with our boiler broken, no hot water or heat. AVOID BAIRSTOW EVES AT ALL COST!!!

Useless

Im a landlord who had a property being 'managed' by these clowns. The lady managing it -Wendy Christoforou couldn't be bothered to do anything I asked her to do. It would take her weeks to do anything and only after I had a go at her for being useless did she start showing results. This company charged me for things I didn't ask for and now 3 months after leaving them I'm still waiting for the deposit back. Suprise, now no one is responding to emails or answering the phone about getting the deposit back. This company does nothing except take money from your pocket. Don't use

Horrible experience dealing with them.

I rented a flat through them (Barkingside Branch). Everything from the beginning seemed sub-optimal. Firstly, we had to wait around for the agent to get the landlord's signature on the contract for a few days after we had already signed it - then, on the day of moving in, we waited again for the agent a few hours in order to chase some last minute things they needed. The agent didn't even come into the property with us to show us around - they just gave us the key outside and left. Once inside the property we discovered some issues that took a very long time to solve after that. We also needed the radiators replaced, as they weren't working at all, and we ended up waiting over 2 months (November and December) for them to be replaced and only once the council got involved. Now we've been waiting for over a month for them to replace some kitchen appliance, which were in a very poor state from the beginning (you could tell they haven't been replaced in years due to foul smell and rust everywhere). They are very bad at communication, and have an entitled attitude - like you MUST do exactly what they say and pay the rent without any lateness, but when it's time for them to do something for, get ready to wait several months.

Cannock branch

I let my property out through the Cannock branch of Bairstoweves. On using their tenant finding service the tenant they found was simply terrible. Didn’t pay the rent leaving a pile of bailiffs letters on finally vacating my property. I appreciate this process can occasionally go this way. The main complaint I would have is that during this period the level of service was abysmal. Unbelievably they seemed totally uninterested, promise after promise to return calls that were never returned. The staff seemed completely out of their depth. Inefficient, apathetic, couldn’t care less & very unhelpful. On visiting the Cannock office to collect the keys to my property & inform them I no longer required their “services” I then found I couldn’t gain access as they had given me the keys to someone else’s property. Just about summed it up. They say the right things, lots of smiles, a veneer of professionalism, behind that total inefficiency. Awful to deal with.

Simply the BEST !!

I’ll keep it short the team at Biggin Hill Kent are the best estates I have ever dealt with. Karen, Gary and Caroline are so switched on when it comes to giving sound advice over realistic valuations, marketing, and communications. It was literally the smoothest house transaction I have ever done. Other local estate agents could learn a lesson or two about efficiency. We’ll done and thank you once again.

By far the worst real estate agent I…

By far the worst real estate agent I have ever been involved with. The rental home we were to move into late last year was undergoing renovations at the time of the viewing and was promised to be completed by 21st November and effectively unfurnished. Move in day arrives and there are still two workers plastering and painting the ceilings and walls amongst other things, meaning the property was filthy and uninhabitable. The house had also been left full of the previous tenants furniture leaving no room for our own. The inventory report could not be completed that day either for obvious reasons. This delayed our move in date by 2 weeks until the 3rd of December and left us stuck with an uninhabitable property.Incredible lack of communication in any form from Bairstow Eves' end, both throughout the moving in process and now while we are still awaiting further repairs to be done to the house (2 months now). Many emails sent without response to multiple staff members.Avoid at all costs and save yourselves the trouble of dealing with this company.

Dont use them

Lee came round really sold us a good service and value for money. We trusted him and signed up, what we have got so far isnt good. We got 6 viewings and only 3 turned up. The estate agent turned up 20 minutes late for the viewings and then she had a conversation with my neighbour about him just selling his flat. The people viewing over heard and this effected the offer to me. So unprofessional and I would not use them again, let hope the flat sells.
