TrustpilotHonestly I wish it was possible to give…
Honestly I wish it was possible to give zero stars.Landlords and tenants alike should avoid this company. Firstly, I was basically tricked into changing my energy supplier to Spark energy, who put me on an incredibly expensive tarrif without my knowledge or consent, Bairstow eves did NOT inform me about any of this. Spark energy comes bottom in almost all rankings of energy suppliers. Maybe thats why they have to force people moving home to switch to them? Similar happened with my water bill. I somehow ended up with three water accounts for the property.Secondly, Bairstow eves did not have a copy of the keys during the whole of my tenancy. They gave me the only set, and then asked me to bring them into their office so they could have another set cut. Highly inconvenient, and when I picked the keys up, they still hadn't had a set cut. So i took the keys, and had they needed to gain access, they would have been unable to do so. When i gave notice and moved out, no one contacted me about checkout or handing the keys back. I wonder if the homeowner was aware of this?Thirdly, now I have moved out (several weeks ago) no one has contacted me regarding an inspection, checkout or deposit. Absolutely pathetic.

TrustpilotTerrible Company
I have experienced Bairstow Eves as both a buyer and a seller and my opinion of them could not be much lower.I had my flat on market with another agents who did their best but things ran out of stream after about 9 months so I switched to Bairstow Eves hoping I could kick start things again.I will say that the flat is not in good repair and the lease is short but the asking price has been substantially reduced to take account of this. All I have had in 3 months is 2 offers, both well below the asking price. There seems to be little effort made to negotiate or put themselves out and I just wonder how they stay in business. They do not seem to want to do anything to earn their commission.I will be dispensing with their service. On the purchase front I was met with the same laissez faire attitude and lack of communication and my purchase fell through, not completely their fault, but I feel I was misled about the reliability of the seller then just left in the air for weeks without contact.

TrustpilotRented a flat in Leyton for 2 years…
Rented a flat in Leyton for 2 years through them and paid full rent 6 months in advance for the whole duration of the tenancy. Gave more than a month of notice that i wished to not renew the yearly contract, before the tenancy was coming to an end. I greatly facilitated finding new tenant/s by providing my own free time for viewings (the letting agent was quite unprofessional and crammed in up to 6 viewings in the span of half an hour! and he contacted me on whatsapp for viewings he had already booked for late evenings, without asking if i could even be at the flat!). I contacted the agency only ONCE, about a small problem with the boiler, and that was towards the end of the tenancy. I was promised a full deposit refund (even though I didn't demand it, and I'm happy to be charged for small damages, that are unavoidable when you live in a place for two years). It has been 4+ weeks, no deposit in sight!! The person who is SUPPOSEDLY in charge is constantly on holiday. I thought they would be trustworthy, but now i worry about the safety of my bank account (I provided them my bank details).

TrustpilotCustomer complaint - It's like they don't want you to buy homes from them?
Customer complaint:Dear Sir,I would like to raise a complaint as my dealings with this company have been terrible from start to finish. It took over a week and countless chasers to receive some simple answers to questions regarding a property, once we over came this hurdle and arranged a viewing Cecilia Urban had the audacity to leave me waiting in the rain forgetting about the appointment all together?!This is just not the way to do business. If your staff are to busy hire more? Don't allow for your customer service to fall off a cliff. If your staff can't tell the time teach them?I am just lost for words...Regards Jack

TrustpilotStill charging renewal fees.
Renewals fees banned as of June 2019, determined exploitative by the government. My renewal is due in Feb and they're still going to charge me 125 quid to renew for a further 12 months and can only do so legally because I signed before the ban came into force. They still hold £450 deposit from my previous tenancy with them because of a dispute with the land lady, when I contacted them for assistance they very rudely turned me away.Wont be using them again.

TrustpilotRubbish estate agency
Been attempting to buy a property that was marketed by this so-called estate agency. Their service has been totally awful: ignoring all forms of communication, happy to tell you all sorts of rubbish about leaseholds which was completely incorrect and just generally rude, uncooperative and useless. Surprisingly, even my solicitor stated that she was sick of their harassment.Sorry to the seller that I had to pull out but this company is not really fit to act as an estate agency.

TrustpilotTenant beware
These people are just cons. They have no professional ethics at all. I recently took a property with them and they tell you lies left centre and right just to get you into the property. I have been in a property for more than 2 weeks and do not have a washer and the fridge is leaking gas but despite having been promised that the appliances will be replenished it's now 2 weeks and nothing has come. They are extremely rude so beware when you take them on for anything. I am very happy for Trust Pilot should have come here before signing up with them. So tenant be warned.

I have been letting my property through Bairstows for a number of years now and my recent experience with them has been exceptional. The Letting team of Jamie,Charlie and Jess did an extremely professional job with advertising, viewings with continuous feedback throughout the process. Highly recommended.RegardsKeith N.

TrustpilotBeware - Negligent Property Management Company
Awful management service that has resulted in my being thousands of pounds out of pocket and having to seek legal advice. Bairstow Eves badly mishandled the tenant, who ended up leaving the property and refusing to pay rent. Their contract was so poorly put together that despite significant pet damage to the carpet, repainting several rooms in garish colours, breaking internal fittings (cisterns) and wrecking the garage door, I have had to foot the bill because the takeover of the property was so shoddily handled. Their 6-monthly inspections of the property (which they only carried out because I insisted on it) were negligent and they failed to spot water damage from a leaking boiler, which the tenant had failed to report. Utterly disgraceful company. Do not risk your money - go anywhere else but Bairstow Eves.

TrustpilotTotally let down by tamworth branch
Totally let down by tamworth branch. They suggested I put my furniture and belongings in the out buildings to let the buyers move in and I would collect when my new house was completed in a few days , after leaving the furniture the buyers complained about the contents been left and we met in the estate agents face to face , Aleisha said that I had told her there were just a few items to store and this is what the buyers were led to believe , this is absolute rubbish she knew I had a houseful of furniture , she just wanted me out the house . I have had to move all the contents again and been given a court order , it is sitting in storage now and costing me a fortune because of this estate agent .

TrustpilotWorse letting agency I ever had
We've been renting with them for 3 months. The moving date was known 1 month before we actually arrived and on the actual date the beds were not even there, one of the bathrooms had to be fixed and today is still not ready as is leaking downstairs and had fire brigade to jump in from the windows while not at home 3 times. In the pre-letting agreement, we were supposed to get some furniture, which we still don't have. The personnel of the agency is not helping either. Really disappointing.

TrustpilotRenters beware!! Ensure you request a clean property!
Viewed a property and despite the mess accepted the property accepting that it would be cleaned when the tenants left. It wasn’t. Move in day was a nightmare, food left in fridge, open tins and all, place filthy, urine around toilet seats, utterly filthy. Bairstow Eves response was it was my fault as I should have requested it to be cleaned as a prerequisite of taking to property. I’ve never heard of anywhere that you have to request it be handed over in a habitable state. Unacceptable!

If I could give 0 stars I would! They kept holding deposit unlawfully and without respecting the pre agreement signed by both parties, rude behaviours shouting on the phone and claiming to be the best! Avoid if you can rent somewhere else!

TrustpilotA review of the romford branch
A review of the romford branch. We have been with Bairstow eves / county wide for several months. In the period we have had many issues. Of times of four viewings booked and one or none actually turn up, never a follow up call on the Monday after the non show of viewers. Management change in the period didn’t change the situation. We’ve had never had an agent actually attend the property with a potential buyer. We were suspicious that the majority of the viewings are actually fake. As every time we threaten to move away from Bairstow they seem to find more viewings all over the weekend when they’re unavailable to speak to about the no shows. Many many ruined weekends waiting for these potential buyers is tiresome at the very least. Especially if you only get weekends off from your work. Be mindful when opting for selling with this branch. I can’t speak for any other branch. Re - Allison ward

Appalling service and bad communication. Do not use their estate agents Countryside as they are worse and you get charged for extras not even heard of and I worked in conveyance solicitors just thieves and bad service. You can never get hold of them either. Baistow Eves also lied about reasons for delay as covering themselves. Use professional estate agent and local solicitors lesson learned!!

TrustpilotPoor Service
Recently I made an appointment to view two property for buying. In order to book the appointment I had to submit mortgage deed and other necessary documents, only after viewing this document they ll allow you to book the property for viewing. I understand its their rules and regulation and I have to obey. All documents had been verified and my appointment booked a week before. On the day of the appointment, the agency people came but they took the wrong key for the first house and I was like that's ok we ll rearrange for viewing and I asked can we move to the next property, they mentioned they hadn't got the keys for the second property as well. I lost my patience here, they check a lot of documents to book an appointment and they forgot the main things that is needed for a house. They needs to work on this in rules and regulation before question buyer a lotPoor customer service, very bad experience right from the start of booking appointments. Never suggest this agency to my friends either for letting or buying a property

Terrible company, absolute set of charlatons. They scam you during tenancy by making up false issues which they cannot backup with proof, and then when I ended my agreement with them it's been 5 weeks of promised deposit return and nothing received. Scammers, avoid!!!I will be contacting Trading standards

TrustpilotBairstow eves Gidea Park an absolute…
Bairstow eves Gidea Park an absolute joke. Three people handling the case of a 76 year old lady waiting to get into a retirement home having moved up from Devon. Staying with daughter who’s given up her bed. Michael Simpson been contacted and aware of situ. Promised weekly updates as the ‘vendor’ doesn’t want him to pass on details.Approx 6 months later can’t even return phone calls as office has permanent answer phone. Obviously vetting their calls. So frustrating as this elderly lady is a recent widow which in itself is enough. I’m honestly disgusted with Bairstows customer service . I wouldn’t use them if they were the last estate agents on this Earth. NO INTEGRITY!!!!

TrustpilotI have just had the phone put down on…
I have just had the phone put down on me by the manager from Bairstow Eves in Colindale to view a property. I was ringing to view the property with the view of buying without a chain with a mortgage already in place. The manager was extremely rude on the phone and asked very unnecessary intrusive questions then started shouting and put the phone down on me. I am extremely shocked from the persons manner and lack of interpersonal skills. This is unacceptable. Do not waste your time with this company!

TrustpilotWorst estate agents ever
This has to be the worst estate agents on the planet. With the manager being one of the worst things, he doesn't know basic things his own staff have to correct him and the communication between them is horrendous. These people handled our property situation very badly which later led us to withdraw from the whole thing. Don't let them trick you into going with their solicitors countrywide. They are absolutely useless and the estate agents will state that the solicitors are quick but they charge close to 2k and cant even reply to an email quick enough because apparently "they don't have enough staff". Their knowledge of a property is so bad that you can't really ask questions because they really don't know no basic knowledge of it. In this particular branch they have a lady working who's name I do not know. Its not Jade she's great but another lady who is really rude, she's reluctant to give updates on property situations and will talk to you like she's better than you. Please avoid them but if you have to then be cautious and don't take their word for anything expect the worse because they have the worst working there.

TrustpilotI will never use Bairstoweves
I will never use Bairstoweves! Me and my partner have put offers on 2 different properties and both times Bairstoweves ruined it for us! First time we had an offer accepted, we were about to start paying for checks but they then got a higher offer and pushed the venders to accept. Second time we offered £2,000 over asking price, their offer was under asking price and they again pushed the vender to go with them!! They are forceful, rude and just an awful company! Do not recommend at all! They have knocked our confidence right down AGAIN and now worried they are going to wreck it for us AGAIN. Stay clear of them! Thanks a lot.

TrustpilotSimply awful.
I’m Been with bairstow eves for two years and I and my husband are not happy and nor was the landlord. 1. Fees are an absolute rip-off. Nearly £2000 up front for... I'm not sure what... £700 deposit fair enough... one month's rent fair enough... but nearly £600 in fees you are joking? Other letting agents in the area it's around £250! 2. They lied to us. When we first signed up we asked if there would be a tenancy renewal fee. They said no. Lo and behold 11 months later they ask for £120! And then phoned us several times over the month asking us to pay it even though we said we would pay it on a specific date. 3. They don't fix things. When looking at the property we were promised they would fix a fence panel. We contacted them once a month for three months and no response. We fixed it ourselves. 4. Our cooker broke and they took days to contact the landlord. 5. They phoned us the day before to schedule something, hubby took the day off and they didn't show! 6. Contacted them many times and they just don't fix things! That's IF they answer. 7. The office is seemingly run by kids who really know very little. They didn't even understand how a marriage certificate proved change of name or even spell the name correctly.

TrustpilotBad Customer Service: Bairstow Eves Romford
I purchased property through Bairstow Eves Romford. The sale went through pretty quick thanks to having good solicitors. However, I found the agent and her manager at the Romford branch extremely arrogant, bossy and inconsiderate as they were pushing to bring forward the completion date by 4-6 weeks when I found out later that the owners were pretty flexible and relaxed about a completion date.It was later realised by myself and the owners that it had something to do with the branch getting their commission in time for their accounts by the end of their financial year. The branch held a copy of my house keys which they said they would handover once I go into their office to sign a form. This was unknown to me until I chased this up on completion. Prior to completion I was not told of any T&Cs. At the time it was an extremely stressful experience as my mum was admitted into hospital. In the end, the agent had to run everything by her manager which was time consuming and inconvenient. What happened to agents being proactive and making effective decisions for themselves?A week later after completion, they finally posted the key through after I informed the branch that I cant come to their office to pick up the key and sign their form as I was at the hospital. Finally, I have asked Bairstow Eves Romford to remove their SOLD board from my property on at least 4 occasions - twice via email, once over the phone and I went into the office and specifically asked their colleague I want it removed before Christmas. It is now the 19th December 2018 and it still has not been removed. I am extremely unhappy with the staff at this branch as now that they have their money, they dont seem to care what service they provide. I used an online agent to sell my property and their customer service was brilliant. I now know why high street estate agents are slowly 'dying' as they cant compete with online agents.
