Alex Jany at John D Wood in Esher is just brilliant, from showing me the property options in Esher to supporting me through every single step of the process of buying my new home. I couldn’t recommend her enough to anyone buying in Surrey. She has literally been on the end of the phone helping me daily, liaising with the sellers, arranging the property to be cleaned and rubbish removed. I have never had such a personal experience with an agent, who has guided me through every stage of buying a house, and gone above and beyond to make it smooth sailing. Honestly, I could not recommend Alex Jany and John D Wood any more highly! Brilliant service buying through JDWood in Esher. Alex was absolutely fantastic - she couldn't have done more to progress everything in the friendlies and most professional way. We had a long journey with our first purchase but it was made 100% easier by having Andrew represent us. He was super helpful, understanding, great communication and all round we had a really nice experience buying our first home! It really felt like we were all in it together and we got there in the end! Andrina Craig at John D Woods was highly recommended to us by a friend who had worked with her in selling and purchasing a property. We have been extremely happy with the attention we received, from the initial visit to the time it took to close the deal. Andrina is not only charming, but also very experienced in her industry and was able to offer suggestions, guide us in what was expected of us as sellers, and all in a very calm and pleasant manner; Gavin, Andrina's colleague was also extremely helpful. There was always someone at their office to answer our queries if one of them was not there and they always seemed to know who we were. Everything went very smoothly. Claire at CHK Montfort Esher branch is the most professional, knowledgeable and helpful estate agent I've ever dealt with in my 20 years of property buying or renting. My mother recently sold her house in Claygate and wanted to rent in the area. We approached all the various estate agents in the general area, from Surbiton, Richmond, Kingston upon Thames and although all of them were full of smiles and promised the world, not a single one of them followed through. We received some general email circulations none of which contained the specifics we had outlined. However, when we contacted CHK Montfort Claire offered to meet us that very afternoon and gave us a tour of a marvelous property answering all questions and helping my mother with the process of getting together all the documentation and explaining everything in a simple way with great patience and care. Harry was also very helpful in getting details completed and giving us another detailed tour on inventory check in day. I recommend this team for anyone interested in properties in this area.

Warning - avoid this company at all costs!!

Tom is extremely unprofessional and dishonest. We accepted an offer back in May from a buyer on the basis that the buyer was a cash purchaser. We were then told in July that this was not the case and he was applying for a mortgage. Only when we were ready to exchange and complete in August the buyers solicitors informed us that the buyer had a related transfer of equity, unbelievable. We were told it could take up to 6 months to sort out. We were very disappointed about being kept in the dark about this so late in the transaction. Had we been privy to this we would not have accepted the offer in the first place.

After a sale that fell through CHK Mountfords were very quick and efficient to put the property onto the rental market, where they quickly found a number of potential short term tenants. Being the first time the property had been rented there were a number of actions to be carried out. CHK Mountfords guided us through these in a very competent and efficient manner ensuring the property was rented as quickly as possible. Scammed by branch in Basingstoke, avoid them

These agents in Basingstoke pressured me into making a holding deposit after seeing a property that I was interested in. I provided all the details for reference checks. They later came back telling me that my employers declined giving a reference until my probation is ended which is no fault of mine. I have contacted my employers personally on more than one occasion to get this sorted out, but was not successful. This agency contacted me requesting for a guarantor and as a foreigner, I could not provide the needed guarantor (UK home owner with £44k annual salary). The next few hours, the property was back on the market without saying anything to me about my holding deposit. When I contacted them, they told me I have provided false and misleading information (failed reference checks) which was very shocking to me. Avoid them at all cost.
