Spoke to Lianne who was very Knowledgeable about the housing market and quickly understood what I was looking for in a house and was able to show me the perfect house. I was also getting regular updates on the buying process to know exactly where I stood and what was happening.

Stay away from Burchell Edwards and…

Stay away from Burchell Edwards and Ashley Adams!! Also avoid the Nightingale Quarters in Derby to rent, you will be highly disappointed and miss sold a dream. The company were quick to declining us requesting to move our end of tenancy date by a day as we no longer needed the extra day that we originally requested (we gave 3 weeks notice) as this had ‘now all been agreed with third parties and cannot be amended’ but constantly called me and partner the week leading up to our end date, asking if we needed to extend our tenancy for any reason - anything to get extra money from you. They will also send you an unfair end of tenancy report claiming damages that were already in the property when you moved in. Absolute shambles of a company!!

100% recommend the letting team at Burchell Edwards Eastwood. I contacted them and Bryani came to do a market appraisal on the Friday afternoon, the property was advertised by the Friday evening and viewings were booked in on the Saturday for the Monday. Our new tenants are moving in Saturday just 1 week after Bryani's first visit!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!I have never written a bad review before as I give all businesses the benefit of the doubt or another chance or understand people have bad day but Burchell Edwards seems to top themselves with every encounter I've had with them to be the most incompetent company I've ever had the displeasure to deal with.Where to start! When we first viewed the flat we were to rent out the person we had been dealing with never showed up to the viewing and when we rang after waiting outside for over 30 mins we were told to ring the buzzer and the tenant at the time would show us around. Unsurprisingly the tenant was unaware there was a viewing but was happy to show up around anyway. Immediately we decided to take the flat as the tenant said no one else had viewed it so we were sure to get it and we did... or so we were told! After having given over a months notice to our other flat and because of delays from Burchell Edwards for us to move in we had to stay with a friends for a few nights in between moving out of our old place and into our new one. We were then told just a few days before we were to move in that the landlord had just chose us to move from all the applicants and congratulations we were to move in... we had already been told we got it and moved out of our old flat at this stage lucky we did get it or we would have been out in the streets! After being dragged around to 3 different Burchell Edwards offices across the midlands to sign different forms and collect keys from another one etc (i don't see why this could not all have been done in the one store, but why am I not surprised) we finally got the keys and moved in and did not have to deal with them for another year...thankfully!(I must mention that everyone except for Karena has been useless. She is literally the saving grace of this company and I could not fault in the time we dealt with her.)A year later we gave out notice to move out and emailed Burchell Edwards numerous times and getting no reply then was told that they no longer have anything to do with the management of the flat, despite the giant Burchell Edwards sign in the car area advertising renting out the the apartment and still have our deposit. It took 6 weeks to get an answer after giving 2 months notice. After moving out it has taken nearly a month (and counting) to get our deposit back even though we have receive confirmation from the people to maintain the building who confirmed to us and Burchell Edwards that the flat was left in perfect condition and for them to release our deposit, and email confirmation from the landlord again for Burchell Edwards to release back our deposit. After forwarding all these emails to Burchell Edwards as proof they can give us back the deposit they still have not and even the landlord said said he has already told them weeks ago to give us out deposit back but still no reply! Avoid this company at all cost. I have never and hopefully will never have to deal with such a useless company and the worse communication I've ever experienced!!

After having a few different estate agents I was deciding who to use to advertise my property. I rang Burchell Edwards to actually view a house they had for sale but was told on the phone that it had been sold that day (fair enough) they then talked me into having them value my house and booked an appointment with one of their advisors (who I'll leave anonymous). He came round and was very professional and explained what they will do for me and how great they are blah blah blah so I decided to go with them and have the premium package photos and use their conveyancing team etc etc.That was about as professional as these clowns got. The photos were bang average and didn't advertise every room in the property and didn't look any different to standard photos on rightmove.... Nevermind so I thought. They didn't do any viewings I had to do all of them, they didn't even offer to attend.Once my property was sold I heard off Burchell once., They didn't do any chasing up I had to chase up everything, didn't email to see how it's going or why it's taking 6 months to complete all for the princely sum of £2700 I did have one phone call though 2 days before I was about to complete to ask me if I'm still looking for a property?? I mean come on what an absolute shower. Called me on day of completion asking when I'm dropping the keys in luckily my buyer and I had already discussed this and wrote burchells out of the equation.I honestly won't ever use a estate agents again and I'll advise everyone who moves to just use an online agent with low fees because you end up doing everything yourself.The sooner some tech whizkid comes along and designs something to wipe out estate agents and conveyancers the better because the whole system is an absolute abomination and costs so much money.

AFTERSALES TEAM IS HORRENDOUS!!! AVOID

All my dealings have been with the Tamworth branch and after a promising start I have been left INCREDIBLY disappointed. The start of the process, we dealt with Chris who is EXCEPTIONAL and quite frankly the ONLY reason we went with Burchell Edwards after getting 4 different agents in to value our property and quote for services. Chris is very professional & knowledgeable, nothing is too much trouble and he was fantastic when performing the viewings, hence the 1st star I have given. The second star is for John Wasim, the negotiator that agreed the sale with our buyers. Again very professional and polite and ALWAYS called me back with updates etc. Unfortunately, as soon as the sale was agreed, it has all gone drastically downhill and completely ruined any chance of me ever going with BE again!When Chris valued my house and quoted for services, part of the pitch is that there is a 5 strong team of after sales experts, who will oversee the sale and keep us updated/do all the chasing etc. It was for this reason that we were satisfied with paying what was actually the MOST EXPENSIVE agent fees out of all the quotes we received, because we believed that we would receive a service worthy of the increased cost, taking into account the whole after sale experience we were told to expect. Unfortunately, there has been NO AFTER SALE support whatsoever!!!!! I never heard a peep for around 3 weeks after I accepted our buyers offer, despite sending around 3 or 4 emails to the Tamworth office. I then received a really feeble excuse that their computer system had some sort of glitch, which caused the lack of reply - IMPOSSIBLE CONSIDERING I SENT MY EMAILS TO MULTIPLE EMAIL ADDRESSES AT THE BRANCH, including John's who had always received and replied promptly, prior to passing the file over to the after sales team. So this was clearly a lie. After that, I received NO proactive updates, no evidence that BE were chasing the solicitors or paying any attention AT ALL to my sale, so I was forced to keep chasing them to take action. I am not exaggerating when i say EVERY, SINGLE, EMAIL I HAVE SENT has been ignored, until I followed up with a snotty email complaining about the lack of response. Our buyers solicitors are being a nightmare and BE have done nothing to help me speed them up, instead they've made up silly excuses to allow their ineptitude to continue without challenge. It has now been around 15 weeks since we accepted our offer and BE have done NOTHING to expedite the sale. I will never, ever use them again and have requested details as to how I can make a formal complaint. I expected to receive a discount of 50% of my fee, considering I have only received 50% of the service I was promised!!!!!! My fee is £2400 in total, extortionate considering all that has paid for is a few photos, some 5/10 minute viewings and nothing else! so angry.

Absolutely unprofessional have had the worst experience possible keep booking appointments and email you on the day to say it's cancelled this has happened 3 times 2 no shows when I signed up with them they promised the world honestly have to say I'm disgusted with the lack of service. They don't answer their phones I surprised client's can even book a viewing, when you call them they just want to get rid of you as if your nuisance considering your are pay double the fees anyone else is charging. I'm shocked to see 4/5 stars certainly not the experience I've had with them. Castle Bromwich Branch Hurst lane i wish I read the reviews on Trust pilot I would have never choice them.

DERBY BRANCH MORTGAGE ADVISOR A.P WORST EXPERIENCE THE 1ST TIME WENT OK WASNT GREAT TRY TO MAKE YOU SIGN UP TO THINGS THAT ARE UNNECESSARY. Went to buy my 2nd home and because of the abizmel communication lost out on it 3x..... because of slow service not responding to emails and forever chasing them to do their job. never get a xall bsck when promised and then to add salt to injury she doesn't take accountability for her neglengence. NEVER WILL I USE HER AGAIN!!! I made it very clear that her service was appalling they claw money out of you to do very little work. I came on trust pilot to leave a negative review which she is aware of me doing so I don't think she'll be surprised hearing about this... only to be unsurprised by alot of other people's negative reviews. I had to ask if she's over worked because clearly can't keep the pace. made me lose out and still took my money to do very little. you mayaswell find a private mortgage advisor which I have done now and has suited me thus far...useless is an understatement..... try to blame you for their appointments theyve made and missed. she's lucky I never put her name on blast. but stear clear DERBY BRANCH INTIALS A.P

Rude estate agent!

Honestly will never buy through these as I've been put off for life. I genuinely feel because I'm a first time buyer the estate agent felt that they could bully and push me into signing up to things I didn't need. All I wanted was a viewing on a property but was instead given basically life advice I didn't want or need. I had explained I already have a mortgage advisor and a mortgage in principle but was consistently pushed and bullied into signing up for their mortgage services. Came off the phone and instantly blocked their number because I was so upset and fuming at how rude I had been spoken to. Wouldn't buy a house from them now even if they paid me to.

I started house hunting sometime in June 2020 and was so fortunate to be assigned Kelly at Castle Bromwich branch. From the very beginning she was so supportive, always letting me know when there were houses that met our budget and taste available and what won my heart was her tenacity and determination to find us our perfect home.She was so patient with my mom who was very picky on a budget and was always one call away, even updating me with information others wouldn't have bothered to. Also she always booked me in for viewings at my convenience, not once rescheduling or having excuses for all the times I requested.I have collected the keys to my new home which Kelly saw and knew was the right fit for my family. Highly Recommend Burchell Edwards

I am about to complete on my first house this Friday and could not be any happier with the service i got through Liam Mann at their Eastwood, Notts office!Liam was recommended to me via a friend as they had just as good experience with him as i have. Right from the start he had a friendly attitude and helped work out what i could afford and what was best as i had a seen a house i really wanted to go for. Things didnt work out on that one but soon after i found the one i finally got.Liams ability to make the worst situations even slightly better was a massive thing for me, especially because its my first time and i am on my own. Little things go a long way and Liams work ethic and ability made all the difference, from giving me a call over confused emails to responding to me even when he was on annual leave!Every penny spent with Burchell Edwards is money well spent and i am 100% going to continue dealing with them on my future endeavours. I cannot stress enough how much everyone should use Burchell Edwards and more specifically Liam (where possible) as i cannot fault them one bit!
