My partner and I have recently sold our home using the services of Aston Fox. I have to say that I was very skeptical of the whole "sale by tender" process and 0% without charging me secret fees somewhere. But they didnt! I wasn't even asked to contribute to photographer fees, unlike my previous agent who made me pay and then didn't manage to secure me a buyer... We had a nice photographer who really made the house look so good, and the whole thing from there was pretty simple. We set open days on Saturday afternoons, and we went a coffee at the neighbours they showed people round the first time, and the next week I just sat in the garden out of the way. Then the negotiations started and we did eventually agree a price and then left the solicitors to it as we had already found our home elsewhere so just needed to sell fast and thankfully our buyers originally agreed to this. The process took a bit longer than we hoped, but Paul was a superstar in pushing the buyers to pull their proverbial fingers out and get the process done despite them throwing every obstacle his way... I also do want to mention that Matt was on hand throughout as he was the person we originally agreed to come on the market with, and despite him being the owner - he gave us his mobile and helped throughout too with our many (sorry) questions! Thank you guys, we're now all settled a nice long way away from Ilford and wishing you all have a lovely summer with many more sales! I would highly recommend this firm to any prospective client wishing to sell their property.  I received a leaflet through my door as I was about to put my property on the market.  Initially I thought I would have my property on the market with a few High Street Estate Agents, however,  I soon changed my mind and decided to go sole agency with Aston Fox following a visit by Mathew Sayer as he said that he had several people that would love my property.  He was extremely knowledgeable about the local area. I was pleasantly surprised with the way he had marketed my property and his pro-active approach.  He arranged for me to have an open house that same weekend and he had several people view my property and there was a lot of interest. I am pleased to say my property sold relatively quickly. I was very impressed with how the way the viewings were conducted by Jordan (sales negotiator) and the feedback following all viewings I also spoke with Paul Spencer (Branch Manager) on several occasions when I had any technical questions raised by the buyer or their Solicitor.  Paul was very friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was ever too much trouble for him Overall I was very impressed with how Aston Fox conducted their business, and I would highly recommend them for the first-class service they provided from start to finish

Everything was going well until few days before exchange/completion. Estate agent (Paul) was behaving like a crying baby and kept annoying me and my solicitor and even hung up the phone on me. Although the exchange and completion was on schedule but the unprofessionalism from the agent was a horrible experience. Me and my solicitor reassured the agent we will complete on scheduled date but they were being very forceful (of course they couldn’t wait for their commission). Best to avoid them.

We recently purchased a house through them and my experience of dealing with Matthew was a mixed one. Although initially he was “ok” as the deal progressed he was getting rude by the day. He is one of those “bloke” type full of himself. Even though you’re as the buyer paying for the fees (2%) there is no sense of “customer service to you as their fee payer. The market is such that they get away with it. Corran on the other hand was a nice bloke. Easy to deal with. They secure instructions on the premise that seller doesn’t have to pay anything. The industry itself needs to be regulated more to make sure they can’t just as they please and there are repercussions for non-compliance . they all think their “professional” but they simply don’t care other getting someone to give them property to sell and buyers to pay their fees.

Buying a property always sounded like head-hake to me, all the parts involved seem to speak a different language and the paperwork needed look like will never end. I found Aston Fox team very professional and helpful. Jordan (Negotiator), punctual for the viewing, was very patient answering all my questions and replying to my emails very quickly. It took more than expected for the completion, and I started thinking that it wouldn’t happen anymore. Paul (the branch Manager) was getting in touch with updates, and somehow he managed to speed up the process. Five starts are more than deserved.

Worst experience with the letting agent AstonFox, Eastham...... 1. I got my first rent after 4.5 months! Although the agent mentioned that there are various ways in which they take rent, I wasn't clear when they told me about it in a hurried way over the phone before I gave them the contract (although it was mentioned in the contract). After the tenant moved in, they didn't tell this explicitly to me that they will take 2 years commission first and the start giving me the rent. When I asked the agent what if after the 1st year I decide to not rent anymore or the tenant decides to leave as per the break clause, he didn't know and said that it's a tricky question. I will think about it and get back to you. But never got back to me. 2. I was supposed to get my 1st rent after 4 months. But it further got delayed by 45 days due to some issues. But the agent and his colleagues didn't update me timely about what was happening. I had to keep on following up with them as they were not responding to my emails and texts in a timely manner. Eventually, they did respond after I said I will go to the cops, Ombudsman and other agencies. To which he said don't threaten me. I don't work that way. I will block you etc. 3. I got my 2nd rent after a delay of 25 days where I had to chase Aston Fox each day. The major part of this delay was due to the fact that the tenant went for a 3 week holiday without paying the rent. 4. You will be at the mercy of Aston Fox and will have to beg for your own rent and you will get bullying in return. 5. On an average, they used to reply once for every 7 emails sent across over about 14 days. And later stopped replying. 6. The tenant decided to leave and told Aston Fox to get the rent from the deposit protection scheme. Aston Fox called me and told that I would be getting the rent after about 40 days(14 days DPS will wait for the tenant to reply back to them + 14 days to get a no objection certificate from a solicitor + 10 days for something). My 50 inches TV was missing, new curtains missing, oven was not working because the main on/off switch was broken, the previous tenants had spilled stuff on the carpets and I had to pay for it. Nothing was taken off from the deposit as the tenants didn't pay the last month's rent and left. 7. After the tenant left and a new tenant was to move in, Aston Fox told me that a new contract will needed to be signed. Which was fine but they said that the remaining 1 year agency fees that I had already paid will be forfeited as per the company policy and hence I will have to pay the agent fees again. But they will make sure that it will be less. The total agency fees that I paid them was about £4400. Out of which the 2nd year's fees was £2200. So basically they were saying that £2200 will be forfeited as per company policy!!!!! I'm waiting for them to get back to be with a figure that I need to pay again. As per my calculation it comes to £700. They charged me again for the second year! 8. I was fed up of them and wanted to end the contract as 2 years were complete. However, they hadn't paid £1400 to me since 1 year!!! Finally after 1 year of following up one day the main manager told me that he is ready to pay that amount however he will deduct £748 from it just because the tenants continued to stay at my property after the contract between me and AstonFox finished after 2 years. 9. I think they are fraudsters. The 2nd year's tenants were promptly paying their rent to AstonFox but AstonFox was not paying it to me. 10. AstonFox initially were not agreeing that the tenants pay the rent directly into my account. They were taking the rent from the tenants and not paying me. So I had to insist and they finally agreed that the tenants paid rent into my account directly. It took them almost 1 year to pay me the rent which the 2nd tenants had paid them. And that too was paid only 25%. 11. This morning when I called their office asking for the last pending £325.60. The receptionist spoke initially and later pretended as if she couldn't hear me and disconnected the phone.

I wanted to put my property for Sale recently, Aston Fox decided to not turn up at the first viewing slot, so arranged another appointment only to be told it was not scheduled on the day of the appointment. After the third attempt at the appointment I was told the Agent was running late which is codeword for not turning up so very disappointed at their lack of communication in advance and shoddy time keeping.

We went with Aston Fox after having 4 valuations ,as my husband in particular believed in Mathew Sayer ,he came personally to our home and from then on he and his entire team worked with us in this difficult time to get our home sold. The markets especially mortgages are I'm sure we all agree in turmoil (Oct22 ) and to manage the completion of a sale at a higher price to other estate agents just shows how hard these guys work. We were always emailing each other, getting phone calls with updates and if needed was able to pop in to the offices. The staff: Liam,Max,Paul,Corran are all friendly and courteous. Zoe we had emails from very professional and absolutely everyone in the team have been a great pleased to deal with. Special thanks to Mr Mathew Sayer who as I mentioned we invested in him not necessarily the brand which has won many awards and has great reviews already.

After speaking with the sellers, I learned that they lied a lot. Not that they portrayed any trust and sincerity at any point, in any case. While dealing with them, they were rude and unprofessional (in particular Matthew). Lies over lies. Stay away if you want a lovely experience.
