How Hamptons totally left us high and dry
we had arranged to move in to a new property with Hamptons, everything was going fine. the last minute the current tenants of the property we had hoped to move in to fell through, it happens. how ever at that point baring in mind we had signed the tenancy agreement, also considering we had given our notice on our current property. the landlord/ Hamptons should have been liable to sort us out accommodation in that situation. Hamptons came back with a statement saying, they had signed but not dated the contract and therefore were not obligated to help at all. this is the shadiest thing ive ever witnessed. during that phase, where you have given notice and signed new contract, its imperative you are protected by the tenancy contract for situations just like this. if you are going to do business with Hamptons, triple check everything. we had a week to find a new property, we ended up somewhere far less than ideal. I would sincerely recommend not doing business with Hamptons
Thank you for leaving us a review, customer service is very important to us and we are naturally disappointed to read your feedback. We would welcome the opportunity to address your comments further and kindly ask you to contact customercare@hamptons.co.uk with your details so we can investigate. Thank you again.

As a first time buyer with added pressure of a new born baby to look after, I would rate my experience as very good. Hamptons always kept me up to date and informed. Any questions or concerns could be answered very quickly via a phone call/email. I would definitely recommend Hamptons for a smooth transparent sale or purchase with no hidden issues. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Hamptons especially Mark for all your help in getting us to the finish line! All the best Nitan Kiran and baby Emily

DISGUSTING
In my opinion, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross branches threw mud at the wall with our viewings and evidently failed to familiarise themselves with basic details of our property. I discussed terminating contracts with the GX manager, Andrew Riley, (below) after just a few weeks. In my opinion, he spoke inappropriately of the Beaconsfield branch management and I felt he begged me to move to his branch in GX. I found their comments to be racist and sexist. They searched for a key in our house that they had not been given and left the external door unlocked with this key in. They seemed somewhat inconvenienced that I held matters briefly whilst a my Dad was ill and I felt aggressively pursued whilst grieving. I raised a formal complaint to the GX manager (below) branch which he failed to acknowledge directly and passed to HQ. The response I felt was unreasonable and there was no offer to appeal the decision. On calling HQ 'customer care' I was told that was the end of the line and would not offer a name for appeal to be addressed to. They provided my personal data to a debt collector without even having sent an invoice? For me, it was an unnecessary and painful experience and it seems they are ruthlessly numb to recognise the issues. Without recognition there can be not acceptance or improvements. Just wanted to share my opinion and hopefully prevent anyone else feeling the way I felt from my Hamptons experience.

as u all know that some people are new to uk so we are new to uk and we contact this agency for letting they used to show us a home and we submitted all the documents at the end they said that we will not give home to u and we deposited 600 pounds and we did not get the deposit back this is the worst experience we had with this agency and if any contacting this agency do not connect with them.

Sandra McCrae - leaving a tenancy is never easy but leaving one under harder stressful circumstances was made easier with the clear and courteous communication from Sandra. Sandra has been so helpful and so kind and I appreciate how much she did to help myself.

Hamptons Property Managers
We have been renting through Hamptons since April 2022. Our property managers (we have had 3 during that time). Katie Tucker our first and Lucy Pickles our current, have always been helpful and responsive, with any issues been dealt with speedily and professionally. We are grateful for their continued communication and assistance. Lucy is a great asset to the company!

Very helpful!
Just moved into our new home and had some issues we needed help with. Emma Martin, Senior Property Manager, was very helpful, prompt and we were impressed with how quickly and efficiently Emma was able to help us get things sorted. Great and clear communication. Very grateful.

we've got very negative experience as tenants, the agent was lying to us, causing us quite a lot of anxiety.
TLDR: we've got very negative experience as tenants, the agent was lying to us, causing us quite a lot of anxiety. After reference check, and accepted offer, the landlords kept delaying signing the contract for over 3 weeks. The agent (Evelyn Aragundi) communicated to us that there are no reasons for the delay, and motivated the delay with very interesting arguments "so we have everything confirmed", "they are really relaxed personalities", "they're currently travelling,", "they're very busy people", "there's no reason for this as such, I mean it's not like they're unsure". After some very involved week, we've got an email from a manager (James White) of the agent saying that "date was a bit vague until a more conclusive timeframe was confirmed".That clearly demonstrated that agent lied to us, stating that "so we have everything confirmed" while it was not. We wont make an offer in the first place, if we knew that. Worst of all, during the process we've seen no intention to clearly comunicate situation to us, and no intention to find a solution that would work for both parties.

Quick resolution
Danish in the property management team quickly resolved some issues we had with the house we are renting. His communication was great and he looked to resolve them as soon as he could, following up to make sure they were resolved with the contractor.

Assumingly a "large" company but plays "dirty little" tricks wasting buyers and vendors time
We wish having seen the review titled "As untrustworthy as they come"The Canary Wharf office of Hamptons did the same to us. They confirmed in WRITTING the acceptance of our offer last Friday. We provided IDs and proof of funds on the same day that they were happy with. However, 1st thing on Monday morning they say the solicitors acting for the Vendors accepted another offer when Solicitors do not even work during the weekend. Worse still, the offer was put forward by the same office which is really odd as the property was marked SOLD on the portals already. So we echo the feedback below:As untrustworthy as they come. When making an offer on a property we found that they just simply used our offer to create a false market where there was previously no other bidder despite property being on the market for some time... Outcome being some one else has also clearly been misled and ended up paying over the odds for a property based on games. We even made the offer that they say the vendors would accept. Now they say someone offered much higher once THEY told the new buyer that some one else made an offer being accepted already hence the property is off the market. What Hamptons is playing here, is encouraging Gazumping which is bad for all parties. Not surprisingly some of their other transactions fell through thus, Vendors lose out on sales and time. Buyers and vendors wishing to work on fair market price should be wary of this dirty games as some one definitely gets hurt by wasting time and money unnecessarily.

Great service from start to finish when recently selling our property. From original meeting with Mark, property was on the market very quickly and marketed in a very professional manner. Great communication throughout viewing's, always keeping us updated. When it came to getting towards Exchange, Sophie was brilliant in keeping us updated and liaising with both solicitors ensuring there were no delays. Always very professional to deal with and always available when we needed updates or information Hamptoms Ealing are very good, friendly and professional Estate Agent.

Fantastic customer care from start to finish. We met and dealt with many estate agents, most of which had inept people skills and were pushy or impatient. We can easily say that our experience with this branch of Hamptons was unparalleled. After what we thought was our dream home fell through we were quickly offered a new and better option, which was swiftly completed and exchanged without fuss or panic. We have been in our new home for several months and not a day goes by that we don't pinch our selves as to how lucky we are. This Hamptons team, and in particular Mark Peppin who guided us calmly and reassuringly around many wonderful homes, are always contactable, always cordial and considerate, and we felt as though 'friends' were looking after us.

Salisbury disappointing
If the Salisbury office functioned in the way we were initially promised, and as the web site and brochures suggest, then our sale would have gone a lot more smoothly and faster. It was shocking to find the first two viewers in the 4 days since listing whisked away to view an off-the-market, discreetly available property before they had returned for their second viewing with us. I gave notice to terminate the contract at that point. I am not paying Hamptons nearly £10,000 to sell someone else’s house.A sale was arranged however the chain involved was not exactly as portrayed to us and this eventually created difficulties and delays.Problems further up the chain are not the responsibility of Hamptons but when these were resolved I phoned and wrote to Hamptons specifically asking for the lower end of the chain to be reconfirmed and checked for completeness. Despite promises that they had I discovered 3 weeks later that emails were sent but not followed up, and we encountered further delays whilst the bottom end of the chain dealt with pre-contract issues that should have been resolved months ago and on one of the many likely days for exchange of contracts renegotiated their price.Hamptons bill was sent to my conveyancer about 10 minutes after exchange of contracts. Good to see they are efficient in some areas if not others. We met some very nice people at Hamptons including one who was really impressive. But Hamptons really need to make sure all their delivery lives up to all their promises.

Ellie Marsters is a Property Manager at Hamptons. She is in a league of her own, when it comes to responsiveness, taking accountability to get things done and being engaged with both the tenant and landlord. Having had some experience with other Property Managers in other companies, I would recommend anyone to seek out the services of Ellie at Hamptons.

Hamptons have an eager and committed young team in Ealing. Although our style of house did not make it the easiest proposition to sell, they maintained the momentum and kept us informed as each stage of the process developed, advising us appropriately as various potential purchasers put in their offers. In particular, Matthew was skilful in negotiating us through what seemed like a very attractive higher offer without losing our existing interested parties, to one of whom we eventually sold. Once the successful offer had been accepted, negotiations moved trouble-free through exchange & completion. Thank you Matthew, Mark & Sophie.

So far, no complaints
We have been tenants in a flat managed by Hamptons and have been very happy with the service that they - Ellie Marsters in particular - have provided thus far. Ellie is very responsive, well-organized and professional. Worth saying that we have not gotten to the deposit withdrawal phase, which several reviews complain about. But, so far, so good.

Short-term rental of property
Hamptons managed a 12-month rental of my property whilst I was abroad. From the first meeting with Andrew who visited my property intially, it was a pleasure dealing with them. They were clear, prompt to reply to questions and very helpful on the whole process which put my mind at rest - especially as I was not going to be in the country! The daily management with Minneaux and then Natalie could not have been better and nothing was too much trouble.I thank them for their professional attitude and helpful manner and would recommend their service without hesitation.

We are in the final stage of selling our house with Hamptons Ealing branch and have worked with Paul, Mark and Selina during the process. The viewings were well organised and communication has been timely and clear throughout. We have found them all to be very professional from the initial instruction, through to the negotiation and more recently exchanging contracts.

Terrible
Sometimes beautiful flats or houses are in the hands of terrible agents; be careful! As tenants, they only come to you when they need you to do something. You can hardly contact any of them when you are looking for help. The renting agent ghosted after all documentation was done, leaving me a flat with much to fix. When moving out, they were supposed to contact me in advance for at least 24 hours, but most did not. They told me the people I hired for end-of-tenancy cleaning were not professionals (because I wasn't using one of their business partners) and had the inventory clerk go in before the cleaning was done; they allowed people to move around your items when they were doing the viewing.

Awful service and agents are disrespectful of peoples time. They didn’t notify me when my viewing was cancelled until I showed up and rang wondering why nobody was there. Sent me a confirmation text the day before and no warning despite them telling me I was the first to book in. I travelled all the way west and cancelled other viewings to make it.
