GoogleI reached out to Venture when trying to sell my house. What a fantastic personal service that they provide. I have worked with other estate agents in the local area in the past and found that there was no personality and lack of communication.
What I found with Venture was totally different. The staff were extremely responsive and gave good honest advice throughout. Everything on their end always moved quickly without any bother and they kept me informed throughout the process, even checking in when their were quiet periods during the sale process.
I would highly recommend them and already have to a number of friends since my house sale.
This will be my go to estate agent in the future without doubt.

GoogleSpoke to them twice now to try book viewings for different properties. Very rude, unprofessional and adverts aren’t accurate. One claims is a deatched property, it’s not when you check street view or go to see it, but I still asked to view regardless (which was an absolute waste of time as I’ve to come when they decide not when I can get time from work). Another they had for rent and for sale which is a little strange, (I asked to view it to rent and they tried to push me to buy it instead of letting me book a viewing). I get that the markets are busy right now but there’s no need to talk down to people when they say they have full time jobs and can’t accommodate a viewing when demanded. If I have a job I can’t just leave to come when I’m told or I’m not getting a chance. It will be different when the markets settle!! - most unprofessional people had a call and email attacking me for my comments for not being FAIR! That’s rude I wasn’t treated fair. I have a right to speak up about bad customer service.

Hi Debz, it appears you may have confused us with other agents you have been dealing with. You have not dealt with Venture Properties Durham regarding the detached property or the property available for sale or to rent.
You did enquire with ourselves regarding a rental viewing and you were offered two viewing appointments neither of which you could attend. We did advise at the time that we would recommend you try and attend one of the viewing times suggested. There were other viewings booked and due to the rental market being so busy, it was likely that you would unfortunately miss out. We are trying to be open and honest with clients about current market conditions. We do not feel that is bad customer service.

Everytime I go in my garden I am asked how was venture properties. So annoying . I notice they are selling well if that helps . Sea of sold boards surround everywhere. ( maybe why Google thinks my garden is their office and I visit it several times a day) venture properties are the chief sales agents in Durham by looks of it. I have never visited or had dealings with them, just hoping after this review I can live in peace

GoogleWe recently let our flat with Venture and they were incredibly professional from the start. I would like to thank individuals but the whole team did a great job. They kept us informed through the whole process, answered many questions, were very informative and efficient.
We have had many dealings over 25 years with agents and it’s fair to say these were the best by far. My only complaint is they don’t have a branch in Yorkshire. Don’t waste your time with any other agent in Durham.

GoogleBE WEARY!
We had to chase these agents to communicate with us about a property. We then finally went through the application process late on a Saturday and got the approval from the landlord. It was too late to put the holding deposit down so they asked for us to ring back Monday. We did so 'too late' as in the meantime they gave the property to someone else. When asked for an explanation, the 'mansplaining', constant interruption, and rudeness was shocking. Horrible agents to deal with, stay away. So many better options in Durham area!
Edit after reading response from agents:
The comments regarding the viewing that was set up are correct.
Unfortunately when told to call back on Monday, I was in no way told the urgency of doing so first thing. It was not explained that if someone else applied and was approved, as I was, they would give the property to whomever paid the holding deposit first. If I had known this, I would have acted much sooner. Unfortunately, I was in hospital from the Sunday supporting family after an accident and therefore was not able to communicate until Friday afternoon.
The call that was made to let me know someone else had applied came at 2 in the afternoon. If the urgency was so clear, why was I not called in the morning straight after the other applicants had been successful?
The response to all this when I did get through in the afternoon was that Venture Properties works for the landlord and therefore Connor acted in their best interests. This can only mean this this agency sees tenants as secondary. Why would any tenant want to work with an agency who doesn't value them as much as their other clientele?
Connor at Venture Properties neither acted professionally nor respectfully towards me when I asked for an explanation. I spoke to his manager Todd this morning who did not even apologize for his employees bad behavior. Clearly from the response below they do not feel responsible for the situation or for their obvious and extreme lack of customer care. My review stands: LOOK ELSEWHERE, do not be treated as second-class because you're the prospective tenant instead of the landlord.

We strive to provide the best possible service, it is therefore disappointing that you have chosen to leave this review when we have explained why your application was not successful over the telephone.
We would like to clarify that your email enquiry which we received on Monday 3rd February was dealt with on the same morning. We did not hear back from yourself, so we followed this up with a phone call. After your response, two days later, to our voicemail a viewing appointment was confirmed. Following the viewing appointment on Saturday 8th February, our discussions were that the landlord was happy with your application and you would ring back first thing Monday morning to pay your holding deposit. We recommended you ring as early as possible as there had been other viewings. There was no contact from yourself on the Monday morning. We therefore left a voicemail for you in the early afternoon explaining there had been another application from another interested party and asked that you to come back to us to avoid missing out. When you did come back to us over 3 hours later, we advised that the landlord had gone ahead with another applicant. We have explained that we were following the landlords instructions, who stated they wished to proceed with the first application paying the holding deposit.
We understand your disappointment at not being successful with your application but feel it is clear that Venture Properties cannot be held responsible for this. We have acted professionally, in a timely order, following our client’s instructions. We did also keep you fully updated at all times.
