Luxury they are NOT

Just want to start by saying Sarah in Customer Care has been amazing.In the most part Harron have been prompt with fixing the over 300 snags found in our property.The general finish of our house when we moved i was appalling so don't expect a luxury finish for a half a million pound house.Plaster was completed by a blind man and the paint work looked lchild like. Even the removal people on move in day felt sorry for us as he laughed at the finish.The gas meters pipe was too short which ment not only did it leak gas, but was also an explosion waiting to happen. There was no thank you when we had British Gas fix it even though the person that fitted it should have be sacked. Grass and landscaping was embarrassing but we already had plans for our garden, so we knew we would be ripping up the dry rug of turf that was laid over a garden of rocks and rubble.4 weeks ago the 2nd window repair man broke our toilet seat and we still after various phone calls haven't had it replaced.As for the DRIVE! The manholes had sank and when someone form the company that fitted it came to look agreed that the manholes and the drive had sunk which was why it wasn't draining.He suggested to relay part of it and lift it up and extend the drain which would be a days work. Would be able to do until March. This was February. Fine not a problem.End of March arrives we call to get a progress report told someone with be there in a few weeks.Guy came but only to add more sand around the bricks of the manholes but nothing else.He calls the office they can't tell him anymore he attempts to raise the bricks around the drains (if I could post pictures I would)We call to ask why the repair wasn't happening and we're told that the people who created the plans have looked at the drawings and there is nothing wrong with them.YES, you read that correctly! They looked at their plans. Didn't bother to visit the property to check they were built to spec! But clearly they have cameras or crystal balls that can measure the driveway.I cant tell you how patient we have been, the general follow up form Customer Care has be fine even from the site team which I know is not the same experience on other Harron sites. We have sent 2 sets of pictures and videos of our drive and have had no response.* Verification sent 20/06/2022 as requested below - strange how no +ve reviews are asked to be verified *

Fantastic buying experience

The lady at the sales office- Jacquie at Victoria Heights, Fixby has been very helpful and supportive throughout the whole buying process. We always felt welcome when we needed some advice or help and she was always approachable.We got regular updates fron Jacquie and she has been open to any questions we have even after sale. We absolutely love our new house, thank you Jacquie and thank you Harron Homes!

Thoresby Vale Harron Homes.

We booked an appointment on the off chance at Thoresby Vale Harron Homes site in September 21 and we have now been in our new home for 6 whole weeks and we love everything about it. Michelle made it possible and she has done absolutely everything in her power to make sure we got our beautiful home and she was apart of our journey all the way even through the stressful and emotional times when things didn’t even seem likely for us but she was always there on the end of the phone or email and that we are very grateful for and she’s not just a sales person but a truly lovely lady.

Extremely pleased with the service so far on our journey with Harron homes(Thorpe Meadows)!We started off with Anne who helped us and when she left we had Sylvia & Matt who are absolutely brilliant, we reserved one plot which fell through and they were so helpful trying to make it work, however they helped us reserve the next plot, although we have not completed our buying process yet,we are so happy with Harron Homes, Slylvia is very reassuring, communicates very well and goes out of her way to make it happen.Keep up the good spirits Sylvia & Matt,hopefully all goes out well for us this time.Thank you once again

Harron Homes Brambles Estate Retford. I went to the sales office after getting a hard offer on my house with all the funds in place to buy a Warkworth 4 Bedroom detached house advertised at a £30K discount at £419K. After spending a couple of hours being humiliated by the clown of a regional sales manager to find out if we could afford the property and if we could complete the purchase in about 6 weeks. In the end I said I would use the solicitors they recommended and would pay my purchases solicitors fees if they used a solicitor Harron Homes recommend. So they finally agreed to sell me the house after several hours of messing about only for the clown to come back and say their head office would only sell me the house if I paid £17K more than the discounted price advertised. Obviously I told them to stick it up their you know where. They told me they could not complete the house by the end of June anyway as per the initial pressure, it turns out end of June is their year end so if you want to buy from these clowns, find one of their no better than average houses that will be finished in as near to June and ask for the world and you may get £30K off. Anyway I went to Oakdale Homes in Retford and bought a 5 Bedroom 3 Bathroom house for the same money to include all carpets and flooring, Quality fitted wardrobes in every bedroom, alarm system, electric garage door, all kitchen appliances including a top of the range rangemaster range cooker, they gave me 6K off the list price and agreed to block pave the whole front of the house so I could park multiple cars on the drive. Lesson is don't buy from these self important mass builders that want to add fortunes to the published price with extras that any sane person would expect to come with a newly built house. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Not all house builders are the same!!!!

Currently buying a house with another developer who is building in Hasland. We are doing an assisted sale and are having a terrible experience due to pressure they are applying with time frames. Frustrated we decided to explore other options. Went the see Matt at Thorpe Meadows to discuss options and the difference in attitude is chalk and cheese. Matt is incredibly honest, very accommodating and above anything a nice guy. If we don’t sell our house in the “desired” time frame deemed reasonable by the other house builder I will be buying a Birtkwith from Matt (and my gut tell me me I will 99.9% sure I will be)Thanks for your help Matt

Thorpe meadows/the grange

We went to enquire about a house at Thorpe meadows, we was greeted by Matt. Matt was able to explain the process and what we needed to do to get the ball rolling. He was professional, extremely helpful and polite, he was able to tell us where the nearest show home was for the type of house we was looking at which was only 25 mins up the road. We arrived at shireoaks development and was greeted by Jo, she was really helpful and welcoming even though she knew we was wanting to buy from another site. I am waiting for Nikki to contact us to arrange viewing for part ex, so unable to comment as yet however with the service we have already received I’m expecting no issues.

So far so goodWe got reasonable price on our part ex and Nikki has been very helpful and responsive with this. The whole buying process has been brill with regular pictures and updates from Ann. Matt and Sylvia at thorpe meadows are always are friendly and responsive to requests etc.Site manager Lee and assistant site manager Chris are always happy to help and down to earthWe produced are snagging list and had a professional snagger, which said looks like a good built house, most of the snags he found were bits and bobs but nothing concerning us at the moment.We found a leak when moving in and the plumber was round first thing Monday morning. We now have Mark who's sorting out snags, really nice chap. Overall I've not got a bad thing to say.Yes new builds have snags but you've got to remember no one has lived in it so you will pick things up as you go and once harron has been informed they are more than happy to come and sort it out. We went to Hockley Croft today to look at the show homes because we're thinking about putting our house on the market but don't know where to start. Michelle explained the Part Exchange Scheme, in which Harron Homes could be our cash buyer. That eliminates the hassle of selling our home, and best of all, we can stay in ours until the new one is built, which is ideal for us because we have a toddler and another on the way. We reserved our plot yesterday at Shipley Lakeside. Amanda has been incredible throughout. We couldn’t have asked for any more. Communication was brilliant before we booked in to reserve, and she was equally as good with dealing with the reservation. I know if I have any questions I can contact her and she’ll help. Julie was also on site and she is equally as lovely and helpful. The appointment gave us all the information that we needed before proceeding with the reservation, you are then given a pack to bring home with everything you need in. Which is great. Amazing experience would highly recommend Harron Homes.We decided to move in January 2021 and after myhs of looking at every development and building company we decided on our beautiful home onthe Thorpe Meadows Estate, lots of ups and downs during the process but we still had a great experience and Harron Homes went above and beyond to help us secure our purchase despite award buyers in our chain that could have lost us our beautiful home.Move day was stressful but Ann was great and reassured us as always.Post move we have had issues and yes I won't lie it's been frustrating stressful and on some occasions disappointing, but I think moving just before Christmas enhances everything and in reality Harron Homes have been great communicators and have successfully resolved neatly all our issues and we are very confident the remaining snags will be sorted.Chris site manager has been great and we are 100% pleased we chose Harron Homes the quality of this build is brilliant and we have had compliments from other trades men that are not associated with Harron Homes that have been to our house, what more can I say.

From the start and the first meeting with Caroline we have had nothing but fantastic help, advice and been made to feel like we were been sold a home, not just taking money from us for a house. Some special thanks to Sandra, who then helped us through some interesting times with our buyer, to the day we moved in, just before Xmas. Thank you for the card and warm welcome we received on hand over. I’d like to mention Kelly as well, another fantastic member of the Hawthornes team. Yes there were some hiccups along the journey, but the team dealt with them instantly yes there were a few minor snags, it’s a new build these happen but they have been sorted or just about to be. I have no worries at all. Next I have to mention Zak and Simon, absolutely top blokes, highly professional and also friendly, they actually care about the homes and the site.
