Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service. You are never updated, your calls and emails are ignored. Unprofessional rude staff. The solicitors are part of the same group so you are never updated. My whole chain completed and moved leaving only myself who is buying through Bagshaws. I have had to go to Land registry directly to get any update, Information is not given in a timely manner to my solicitor. Avoid at all costs!

Awful letting services from Bagshaws, Derby. Constantly had to chase them to complete basic tasks such as a copy of the draft tenancy agreement, amendments to it, updates, incorrectly received the wrong amount for the rental payments on multiple occasions, payments were also not made to us promptly despite several chasers, gave them many chances and expressed my frustrations during the process and yet again they were unable to complete the final task of paying our rent payment to us in full promptly and with the correct amount. That was the final straw and I sent my complaint about this to the manager Tye Alton (who had dealt with us throughout the process and so was aware of all the issues we have had throughout) who just responded to say the remaining amount of rent had now been paid to us, with no apologies or acknowledgment of my dissatisfaction with the service from start to finish. Will not be using them ever again to let my property or any future properties. Avoid at all costs as they make the process harder for you, would have been easier to deal with letting it myself.

Unfortunately a bad, unprofessional experience. We viewed a property and called to make an offer with Steven. We were told as we were not on Steven’s list we couldn’t make an offer. We had viewed the house with his colleague that same day having booked through the company. He actually tried so hard to forcibly turn down our offer that we had to ask to speak with a manager - he came back to the phone to let us know they would accept this offer. Since putting the offer in writing we have received no contact by email or phone. After chasing by email 3 times we received a response saying he believed we had been contacted to say we had not been successful. We had not been. There was no apology or politeness. In addition - we had stated in our original offer email that we would like to be offered the chance to increase our offer should we need to - this was not offered to us. Honestly can only describe the employee we have dealt with as rude and quite honestly just bad at their job. We are still trying to offer on this house - however it is being made very near impossible.

The property subsequently sold within 48 hours for £555,000, £135,000 (approximately 32%) above their valuation. In my experience, this valuation had a significant financial impact, and I would strongly recommend obtaining an independent valuation before relying on Bagshaws.
