I was recently helped by Amrit the sales negotiator at Bagshaws Residential in Derby City to sell my property, and I could not fault Amrit’s service. From day one, her communication was top-tier and so prompt. Amrit and the whole team were always on hand to answer questions, provide updates, and even gently chase solicitors to keep the chain moving.Their market knowledge and negotiation skills truly set them apart, ensuring I secured the best deal possible. Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service. You are never updated, your calls and emails are ignored. Unprofessional rude staff. The solicitors are part of the same group so you are never updated. My whole chain completed and moved leaving only myself who is buying through Bagshaws. I have had to go to Land registry directly to get any update, Information is not given in a timely manner to my solicitor. Avoid at all costs!

We recently purchased our first home through Bagshaws, and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Our mortgage advisor was named Richard, and we was our point of contact throughout our whole journey. He went above and beyond his role as simply a mortgage advisor, because he continued to give us help and advice even after our mortgage had been agreed, as he knew we were first time buyers and didn’t completely understand the process. We felt supported throughout, and confident to purchase the home of our dreams. Although it’s unlikely we’d buy another house in the future, because we’ve bought a house that’s going to be suitable for the rest of our lives, I wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend Bagshaws, and especially Richard to any other potential buyers in the Mickleover area.

We used bagshaws to get our mortgage sorted. We brought our property at auction and due to the time frame being so short to get everything completed. It was a lot of work. Richard was an amazing help and I can’t thank him enough for the time and effort he put in. I couldn’t recommend them enough. If I had any questions or didn’t understand certain things. The best advice I have for any Buyers or first time buyers is please do not use the EA’s in house brokers/solicitors services. They work for the seller. Once you give them an inch they will know exactly how to get a mile out of you. Definitely get an independent survey done or take a tradesmen with you. Avoid a chain as a first time buyer! Originally dealt with the previous manager Kate back in January 2024 who was lovely, open and honest. I feel as though if she was still around our sale would have been a lot smoother. Sadly she left the company and fast forward to present day I can understand why she left. We were told the sellers wanted to complete in April/May which we were fine with but April and May soon came round and we heard nothing from Bagshaws Mickleover. We had to ask Rebecca from the bagshaws branch in town. She was an absolute star. We managed to complete in July but with no prior communication or support by the Mickleover branch. Post May 2024 week in week out we were just told “sellers are still waiting for enquiries”, “waiting on the chain” etc So many accusations thrown at us as first time buyers. Lastly I want to thank certain staff at the mickleover branch towards the end of our process, mainly Faijul, Amelie and Bev. There was also a chap who handed our keys to us on collection today he was really pleasant.

As a first time buyer, I contacted Bagshaws amongst other agents to view properties. Adam took the time to explain various processes and showed me lots of different properties after understanding exactly what it was I was looking for. We recently bought our first home through Bagshaws’ Mickleover team and, overall, had a very positive experience. A special thank you to Richard Gulley, who was incredibly supportive throughout the mortgage consultation process. As first-time buyers, we really appreciated his clear advice, patience, and reassurance - he made what could have been a stressful stage feel a lot more straightforward. The whole team at Bagshaws were friendly, professional, and easy to deal with, and we always felt well looked after. That said, we would strongly advise against using Talbots Law, the solicitors recommended to us during the process. Unfortunately, our experience with them was disappointing, and we’d recommend asking Bagshaws to suggest an alternative solicitor from their panel. We left keys with Bagshaws to market our late mums property , they did 2 viewings. Ist viewing property was left without the alarm being reset and then 2nd viewing they left the property insecure . Manager non apologetic, even when going in to collect the keys the advisor for 2nd viewing had no apology. I wouldn't use this company if they were the last resort . Bagshaws Bakewell provided a £420,000 valuation of our property, which was used during mediation in connection with a proposed buyout. The property subsequently sold within 48 hours for £555,000, £135,000 (approximately 32%) above their valuation. In my experience, this valuation had a significant financial impact, and I would strongly recommend obtaining an independent valuation before relying on Bagshaws.

Appointment no show because inconvenient for them

Booked an appointment two weeks in advance. Got a voice message two days before saying the appointment was inconvenient for them because they had another appointment later that day. I did not respond because I did not want to rearrange the appointment. So then they just cancelled my appointment. Very rude, very unprofessional will not use again.
